We stayed at the hotel from February 15 to February 24, a married couple and an 8-year-old child. Contradictory impressions- one of the disadvantages is that everything is very expensive. We only had breakfast included, and we still managed to spend another $200 a day. I can't say that they didn't deny themselves anything. The alcohol was partially imported. A plate of 7 langoustines costs 20 dollars + 10% waiters' fee and 15% VAT to the price tag on the menu. In a word, it's expensive. Someone writes - "Moscow prices", it looks like these people and I go to different restaurants in Moscow. Prices are more expensive than in classic Moscow restaurants, and worse in price, taste, and serving style.
As a parent, I was also melted by the absence of other children, and that our child was friends only with us. But these complaints are certainly not about the hotel. The main contingent of vacationers are pensioners from Germany and other non-Russian-speaking countries! There were no Russians except us. The hotel staff does not speak Russian at all, but to our shame we do not speak English. Everything was translated through Google. The weather in February is +30, the sea is warm, but the flag on the sea is always yellow and red, you can swim, but the waves. The hotel is located in a quiet and secluded place, you swim in the ocean alone and there is no one else in the water. You go to the sunbed, and everything is free. It's the same at the pool, there are a lot of places, on each sunbed there are two towels-one on the sunbed, the second as a cushion under the backrest. Bar by the pool and on the beach. The service is specific, as written in previous reviews, the waiters are not in a hurry, these guys are not Turkey, no one is running here. You can wait 30 minutes for your order. There is live music at dinner in the evenings. Again, I've heard a more harmonious one, but let's not quibble, everything corresponds to the local mentality.
When buying tickets, I was guided by the fact that we would walk through a real jungle with the child, and that's what happened. They've seen everything from monitor lizards to monkeys.
The hotel staff is ready to do everything to make you feel comfortable. We can't say anything bad, the cleaning is regular, nothing is missing, even more than that, my chain broke (but the jewelry is beautiful) and I threw it into the bucket, returning from the beach, "smiled" that the chain was pulled out of the bucket and put back next to my other jewelry.
It also bothered me that when you walk, the staff who is sitting stands in front of you, and if you walk along the path, they will step aside and wait for you to pass, although the width of the path is 1.5 meters and it is possible to calmly disperse together. That's the attitude of vacationers here. It's too much for me, friends, sit still!
Initially, we lived in a room with access to the swamp. A room with a terrace overlooking this very swamp. How wonderful it is there, so many sounds of nature, someone is hooting, quacking, rustling-a fairy tale. I didn't even want to go to the ocean in the evenings. On my last day at the hotel, we moved to a room by the ocean. The room is bigger and more expensive, but the swamp is closer to me).
Unfortunately, I will not return to this hotel. I can't tell you why. Do I recommend visiting it? Definitely yes. For those who long for the sights of the wild, come here.

The hotel is located on the outskirts, there is nothing and no one around, and if you, like me, are tired and just want peace and quiet, then you are here.
There will be no noise, parties, etc. etc.
There won't even be anyone to talk to or get to know)
It's a long road, you need to understand that right away. But in the end, it's worth it.
Just take note that there is NOTHING around, no shops or anything else, you will have to drive to everything. But if you need something insignificant, you can ask at the reception and they will buy it for you.
The prices here for Sri Lanka are not small, but in Trincomalee they are not much less. Plus, it's a long way to get there and also expensive.
The beach, to be honest, is great. The entrance is shallow, the water is 30 degrees, there is nothing but sand at the bottom. The sand is soft, white and black, a little coarse, but it's good when you walk in sneakers, it doesn't fly into anyone's eyes from the wind.
The hotel grounds and the beach itself are extremely well maintained, everything is cleaned daily.
The hotel seemed empty, but it's wonderful. Everything is free everywhere and the staff pays special attention to you, you sunbathe alone, swim alone. Super!
The staff at the hotel is extremely responsive, ready to do everything and help everyone, everyone without exception greets, gets up if you pass by. Everyone speaks English well.
The quality of the rooms is not great, but good (the price-quality ratio is adequate).
They took HB, you eat off your belly, there's no point in full board at all, the portions are large and there's a decent choice. The cuisine is fine, there are few complaints, the local dishes are a bit insular, but when compared with the rest of Asia, it's not at all acute.
The main contingent is pensioners from Europe. There are practically no children.
Of course, it is better to take alcohol with you on the road or in a dutik. Because it's not about anything here, and it's also expensive.
Watch out for the very evil sun!

There is a huge amount of all kinds of diverse wildlife around from mantises and geckos to monitor lizards and Indian squirrels.
Of the cons: of course, it's a very long road, but it's somehow easy to carry.
Sometimes the electricity goes out for a couple of minutes.
The trouble with seafood! Either they don't know how to cook them well, or their quality is low, which is unlikely.
And I really miss a proper gym, otherwise a treadmill and a pair of rusty dumbbells are not serious, there is not even a horizontal bar.
The rest is immaterial.
I recommend you to visit, but probably only for once.

The hotel is simply amazing, a large number of animals on the territory, small monitor lizards, a crocodile behind a fence, monkeys, chameleons and even mouse deer)
I've traveled half the island, but I've only seen them at this hotel.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, but you have to get used to everyone coming up to you several times and asking if everything is okay.
The price tags for food in the restaurant are large, but you should understand that in the neighboring city of Trincomalee they are not lower, and taking into account that you need to get to them, it goes one on one.
$15-25 for lunch/dinner.
That is, for example, a soup of 12 bucks, small.
Or $19 rice, assorted sea products.
They cook very tasty, as well as possible.
I put 4 points for the fact that you need to get used to living creatures, even in rooms... And yes, there are cockroaches, but I can assure you, this is the best hotel! The treatment of livestock is done 1-2 times a day, but this is the price for living in the "jungle"))

There are fewer seats in front of the pool. The beach is clean and convenient for entry. The only drawback is that the villas smell of humidity.

If you make eye contact with someone, they will definitely smile and wish you a good day / morning/evening.They are unobtrusive, do not require or hint at tips (I want to give them myself to thank you for your hospitality). I asked the cook to cook jam for me to take home with me (well, I really liked it), he prepared 300 grams for me in a plastic jar and wrapped it with foil - very carefully.The food is very tasty, the portions are huge.We only had breakfast included, so in 10 days we "ate" $ 400 for 2 people, without limiting ourselves to anything. They will bring food both to the room and to the beach.An interesting calculation-eat, drink, mini-bar, spa, that is, everything paid is recorded to your room, and you pay when you leave. It's convenient- you don't have to carry money with you.The room is very clean and spacious. The split is good, it wasn't hot. We were in April 2023, the ocean is calm and warm. Only the sand is black, for some reason. The nearest village is Trincomalee, 30 km away, but there is a bus stop near the hotel, so you can take a bus for 200 rupees.
Although the hotel is large, we met very few people. Therefore, the place is ideal for introverts☺️

It seems that every single one of the staff is trying to help, friendly, even sometimes it seemed that there was a lot of attention, or maybe we are independent somewhere we can handle ourselves.
Always, if necessary, they promptly brought from the right place (water, flashlight, etc.)
Everyone is smiling, but they drove a homeless little dog mercilessly, it was sad to watch this picture (starving, and we with well-fed bellies, there could be a little mercy, although I understand that there are people who hate dogs, and they I would not like to observe this, spoil my mood with such views of a hungry dog).
Food: there is always a varied menu, while it was concerned that everything is the same :)
The territory is nice, small, but pleasant and tidy. There aren't many people - it's great, a place to be alone with yourself.
Confident 4 in the assessment, the main downgrade is still due to a small dog :)

A great hotel in the jungle. There are birds, monkeys and mouse deer all around. The territory is well maintained. The staff is working very well. All requests are executed quickly. The restaurant is expensive because there is no alternative. The hotel is located in a secluded location. But a great, clean, sandy beach, without outsiders. There is no animation. There is a spa complex. I recommend it for relaxation and relaxation with children.

If you want a truly unexpected vacation, then you are definitely here! The hotel is simply magical! The concept of the hotel is a settlement in the jungle. And it's aged 5+! There are 3 types of accommodation. But the beach house is still the most comfortable! The ocean was warm, clean, and pleased with its completely different condition: from comfortable waves to absolute calm! The sand is an amazing black color. There are sun beds, umbrellas on the beach... and the most wonderful thing is: there is NO ONE at ALL to the right/left at a distance of 2 km!
The restaurant is right on the beach. The food is on the menu, varied and delicious!
The staff should be noted separately. Open, always ready to help, contact!
There is an incredible variety of wildlife on the territory. From the cutest huge squirrels to snakes and scorpions. This is, of course, a very exclusive experience of observing the life of wildlife, but at the moment it was uncomfortable…
You need to be prepared for a long flight and a 5-hour transfer, but it's definitely worth it!

We just returned from this amazing hotel (June 2023).
We went on a recommendation and read a lot of positive reviews. We were not afraid of such a long journey from the airport (7 and a half hours), because we knew what was waiting for us. The hotel even exceeded our expectations. It's a lovely, quiet, beautiful place. Very careful and attentive attitude to the environment, caring for each guest, friendly staff of the hotel. We had breakfasts and dinners (excellent) and it was more than enough. Monkeys, chipmunks, monitor lizards, a lot of butterflies, dragonflies and birds were met on the territory of the hotel. It creates an incredible atmosphere!
I highly recommend it! You definitely won't regret it!

We were at this hotel in the middle of April 23rd. If it were not for the 7-hour drive from Hambantota Airport, then you can put 6 stars. I recommend booking a private transfer from the airport to the hotel and back as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. No one speaks Russian. Room cleaning and water change 2 times a day. The sea was like a swimming pool before lunch. There were waves after lunch, but you can swim. There is a shower on the beach. Waiters serve cocktails from the bar directly to the umbrella. The price tag for a non-alcoholic drink is $3. The territory is green and clean. Monkeys are jumping. The pool is constantly cleaned from the foliage of trees because it is located in their shade. The restaurant is a separate song. We had breakfast and dinner. Not a buffet, but waiters are suitable, they serve a menu in which there are two types of salad, two types of soup, six types of main course and four types of dessert. Dinners, as it turned out, are unnecessary. If someone tolerates the road well, then you can go.

A great secluded hotel. Jungle, ocean, various cute animals (squirrels, iguanas, monkeys). A variety of food (either buffet or a la carte). The bungalow is cleaned twice a day. Sun beds are available. In general, a beautiful quiet secluded place. The only drawback is the long drive from the airport.

Excellent hotel, with very good service, friendly staff, it seems that the hotel is 18+, quiet, large territory gives the impression that you are almost alone, there is always a place to sit everywhere, on the beach, in a restaurant, in a bar, everywhere is always free. In general, the hotel is 4+, but not 5k. However, if you are ready to forgive the minor flaws of the stunning location and the jungle with wildlife, you will not regret it!

Well, it's very good, not even that - the most luxurious hotel right inside the jungle on the coast of Trincomalee - Cuccaveli. Excellent service, the staff dances around the guests in every detail, is extremely interested in really good impressions of the guests and excellent reviews. The kitchen is a separate topic, everything that we did not like very much was immediately changed for free to another dish. 10 out of 10.
Six 1.5m crocodiles live on the territory of 2 lakes, there are many iguanas and mongooses, there are monitor lizards. You won't see so many animals in every zoo. The coast is very beautiful, in June and July the ocean is calm, calm.
But there is also one disadvantage, in general, which has a very indirect relation to the hotel - neither before nor after the hotel (either on the road or along the coastline) there is absolutely nothing nearby at all...although it was even a plus for us..)
