It is even difficult to imagine that hundreds of years ago people built such grandiose structures that will outlive modern ones and will last for centuries!!!
For connoisseurs of ancient architecture. We have been considering masonry techniques for a long time. It is very interesting for masons of the fifth grade and above. And for fans of spectacular selfies.
It is good that this ancient structure has been preserved. It's a pity that you can't climb the aqueduct itself, the view from there should be gorgeous. Perhaps next time you will need to bring your climbing equipment with you.

When you realize that the structure is more than a thousand years old, it's incredible! Just touch the stone, walk through the arch, travel many hundreds of years into the past, imagine that life, those people. It's still the time of the Byzantine Empire. Istanbul is a place where history is on every corner. Stories of great empires!
The aqueduct is interesting, very old, but it looks good. In Moscow, it would have been demolished and a shopping center would have been built, but the Turks kept it.

A unique structure. It's amazing how they used to build, that the stone walls are still standing. The beauty is incredible! It's worth coming and seeing with your own eyes!
It's probably not worth going on purpose, you can either see it passing by (because the busy Ataturk Boulevard highway passes through the aqueduct), or walk 10 minutes from Suleymaniye. And then to the monastery of Pankrator.
The age is impressive, the size. Good preservation. Now it is also being restored. There are outdoor cafes near the walls, you can drink tea. But I sat alone, no one came up to me, sat and left))) Maybe you'll be more lucky!
