Vrissiani Review
We rested from May 20 to June 3 as a group of three people - two adults and a child; breakfast and dinners, paid 242 thousand rubles. Despite the fact that on these dates this amount was the lowest; on others it ranged from 280 to 310 thousand rubles. Surprisingly, 15 days were cheaper than 11 days.
Which surprised me unpleasantly. Wi-Fi is paid; 24 euros for 1 week for two devices. The free Wi-Fi did not work - we tried to connect from four different devices. The safe is paid - 35 euros. The refrigerator was also paid, but it was made free on our arrival. As a result, we paid 88 euros extra. At the same time, drinks were rarely taken at dinners. They are expensive: wine - 5 euros; water -2.5 euros. For comparison, a bottle of wine in a supermarket costs 2.90 euros. Lunch at the hotel costs 15 euros per person. We had lunch at cafes on the beaches: pizza -10 euros and soup-4.5 euros.
About the food at the hotel: both the breakfasts and dinners were excellent. There are plenty to choose from. Once a week there was a seafood day for dinners: shrimp, octopus, salmon. There are always several types of meat. Delicious vegetables and fruits. Of the cons: paid drinks at dinner.
About the room: tired, very tired. There are traces of chips and plaster; the toilet bowl growls like a wounded animal when draining; the refrigerator is working loudly; the bathroom doors did not lock - it was broken. The location is right next to the main entrance; we woke up several times during the night - buses with tourists stayed at night. In general, this hotel is not worth that much money. It's not a four; it's a three. The only advantage is the proximity to the beach. I am attaching a photo of the room. We were settled on the ground floor. I read in some reviews that this floor is occupied by those who have paid for three. Nothing like that. We were checked in when paying for this particular hotel. If you are given the ground floor, immediately ask to change the room.
About the staff: very, very contact; solved problems quickly.
Sun beds are paid on the beach itself; sun beds up to the promenade on site are free. The towels are neat; one day someone took one of the towels away.
About the promenade: it is being repaired from two sides. You can walk for a very short time.
About the sea: it is very cold; you can only swim actively and quickly. The entrance is with stones. We came in from the beach, which is to the right. There are no stones there. The most beautiful sunrises are just on the beaches of Protaras; it is not for nothing that they are called "sunrise".
About the unexpected: take repellents - there are mosquitoes and very biting flies. The bites take a long time.
In general, I liked Protaras. But not for that kind of money. The heat is hard to bear in Cyprus, unlike in the Caribbean and Turkey. The child did not leave the room at lunchtime. And during the rest period, a squally wind of 9-11 m/s blew every day. Umbrellas were asked to be closed; everything was blown away - hats and ourselves. I was unlucky in general with the weather and the sea. And these are some of the most important factors of rest.
In general, the hotel is not bad and corresponds to its value for Cyprus. There are no writings regarding service, restaurant service and room cleaning. The staff is friendly, almost everyone understands a little Russian. However, there is one big complaint that arose on the last day of rest. In the evening, my wife and I were sitting in the sea view bar. At about 11 p.m., it was just us on the terrace and a young woman with a glass of wine at the next table. At that time, a night guard in a black uniform came up to the terrace, as it seemed to me an Armenian (a typical fat man), as he asked the bartender for a soda, while partly in English, partly in Russian. After that, he came up to us with a glass and asked how things were in Russian. I answered perfectly. Then he went up to the woman at the next table and began to harass her vulgarly: he asked how she was doing, if she liked it here and if she was resting alone. She said she wasn't alone. He began to ask how much more he was going to die and if he was going for a walk. At the same time, this guy put his glass on her table. Then he asked why she was sitting alone. The woman said she was waiting for her husband. After these words, he said that he worked here and kept order, after which he left with an important gait. A few minutes later, he returned with another potbelly, very similar to him, and they sat down not far from us at the table. One of them put his foot on a chair at the same time and they showed their importance and vulgarity with their whole appearance. Almost immediately, a guard approached them, made a remark to them and they went to the pool, where they remained sitting on sofas at the pool bar, which was already closed. There they were joined by a third brother. In general, it seems that I prematurely teleported to an Armenian eatery. I left a review in English on the page, because as I understood it, my remark at the reception was not taken seriously
The hotel is located in a great location, 50 m from the sea, excellent room cleaning, rooms are cozy, spacious, delicious breakfasts and dinners, excellent service, arrived at the hotel at 6 a.m., although check-in from 14 o'clock, we were already in the room at 12 p.m. (although we were with a small child and wanted to pay extra for early check-in,but they said there were no seats at the reception, but thanks for that), but there are "BUTS", they settled on the 1st floor, there was a backyard kitchen right under our room, so we saw everything that happened, how the food was delivered, how the staff smoked, etc., of course we didn't really like it, becauseK. the smells and noise from the working conduits made it difficult to sleep...we left the hotel at 5.50 am, on the evening before departure I asked for a dry ration, as a result, the woman who was traveling with us was given it, but for some reason we were not..unpleasant..but overall the impression of the hotel is very positive
