It was opened in the fall of 2008 on the 65th anniversary of the destruction of the Jewish ghetto. As you have already understood, there was a Jewish ghetto in the place where the square has now grown, during the war, now the memorial on the hill of the square reminds of this. There is also a place where Jews were shot during the war. Burials from the cemetery, which was located on the site of the current Dynamo stadium, were also moved here at one time. The cemetery itself, which existed from 1868 to 1946, was closed in the early 1970s, and in 1990 it was completely liquidated, razed to the ground. Representatives of the Soviet city government did not even bother to take care of the memory of the dead. No mention, no memorial plaque that there was an old cemetery has been installed so far. There are three monuments to Jews from Germany who were destroyed (and this is about 3,000 people) during the war (Hamburg, Bremen, Dusseldorf). All the tombstones previously discovered in this cemetery are collected in the area of this memorial.("The Broken Hearth").In such a place , you can not only walk and breathe fresh air , but also honor the memory of the fallen🌅💐
