Vridelni kolonada is a Geyser colonnade, a modern building of the Socialist realism era, angular, heavy and not the most attractive (unlike the snow–white elegant Market and Garden colonnades), with a prism crowning it. The source #1 "Geyser" itself is hidden, closed for long-term reconstruction. It is partially located on the adjacent site, where something very vaguely resembling a powerful geyser gurgles in a large bowl, which I found on my first visit to Karlovy Vary in the winter of 2011. The water inside the building flows at different temperatures: 73, 50 and 30 degrees. Who is prescribed what (mainly 1B – lukewarm 50). Previously, it was possible to breathe in pairs while sitting on benches, and it was a cool inhalation. Now tourists use these places and thermal water for lunch, like a group of Hindus, for example, who occupied all the seating around the perimeter of the building and heated their trays in the hottest spring! Our tourists advised resourceful Indian guests: "Let the trays float – they will warm up faster this way! Let the dry ration become wet, but immediately drink and have a snack!"
The geyser (Vridlo - chesh.) has been under repair for a long time. As of today - April 2021, the geyser is not in its full power, along with a small bowl in front of the main entrance to the geyser colonnade (pictured). There are drinking springs and several souvenir shops in the colonnade itself. Benches for sitting. An important clarification, the glass dome above the geyser has a hole! And the colonnade itself has radically changed its appearance during its existence. From wooden in 1826, and cast iron in 1879, to glass and concrete in May 1975. So the colonnade has more than 200 years of history. The geyser itself was described back in 1480. And the first stone building above the geyser was built in 1794.
The colonnade, which has almost 200 years of history.
It has a glass dome, under which there is a geyser reaching almost 12 meters high.
The geyser colonnade is one of the main attractions of the city.
A covered gallery with springs and souvenirs. Nearby there is a branch of the Astoria hotel and souvenir shops. It was built unlike other colonnades in the constructivist style, which distinguishes it from others.
A pleasant place. And drink some water, and buy souvenirs. However, its modern appearance stands out against the background of hotels. But it's not annoying
