Hello! We were very pleasantly surprised, the interior was very beautiful, thought out to the smallest detail, everything was clean and tidy! The staff is in place, responsive and positive, and we received a lot of positive emotions!
Thank you for preserving history from antiquity to the present day!
Let's get back to you again!)
The museum was founded in 1915. It has departments for nature, archaeology, the history of the ancient and Middle Ages, ethnography, and the history of the modern period. There are many interesting and unique exhibits here.
We were at the museum on 11/28/2024. I recommend it, even if you came to Sukhumi for half a day, like us. BUT we must take into account that the lights are turned off at certain hours - as it happened in our country (we did not know) We didn't even have an hour to explore the museum! Unfortunately, there is not always a guide in winter. I would have a few questions for him. For example, there is no information about serious events around 1978-79. But this did not spoil the impression of the museum, cultural services, exhibitions and the interior / exterior decoration of the building. The ticket price is much more affordable than to an unkempt botanical garden. There are no discounts for pensioners anywhere - this is a minus
