You can climb the fortress by cable car, it works until 23.00. However, it is expensive. After the cable car, there are still multiple ascents with ladders, it will be difficult for the elderly. Then there are colorful fortress walls, a mosque, an old bazaar, impressive views of Alanya, cafes - very cool, especially at sunset. We definitely recommend you to visit. After walking along the fortress walls, you can reach Ichkale, but we could not, because the stairs with ladders lead to Ichkale again, it is very difficult. We recommend visiting Ichkale separately, driving up there along the serpentine by car or taxi.
The Alanya Fortress, founded in 1226, is a truly impressive place steeped in history and the atmosphere of antiquity. Amazing views of the sea and the city, the ancient walls and towers of the fortress create a unique picture that leaves an impression for a long time! A walk through the narrow streets and ancient corners of the fortress immerses you in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and allows you to feel the greatness of the past. There is an ancient mosque on the territory of the fortress, which is still open to the public today.
Alanya Fortress is a must-visit place for all fans of history and beauty!🤩👍
The fortress was visited in 2021 in September, when we rested in Konakli.
We took a short tour.
It takes an hour and a half to drive from Konakles. Maybe less, in a jeep)
The attraction is beautiful!
We rode the cable car to the top in booths. There were, of course, ascents up the stairs and descents back.
It's very beautiful, I liked it!
Upstairs there is a huge "window" with a view of the sea and Alanya. Very beautiful!
The attraction is located next to Cleopatra Beach.
I recommend viewing and visiting those who will be vacationing in Turkey.
You can go by yourself, but we decided to take a guided tour so that the guide would tell the story of the attraction...
Beautiful, accessible. We parked in a residential area, bought tickets after the fact, there are not many tourists during the day. Nearby there is a funicular and a descent into caves, a port with yachts for walking in the sea. If you buy everything on the spot, the prices are cheaper than at the guides and at the tour stalls about once every 12 hours.
A small fortress from the time of the Roman Empire. Beautiful views of the coast from above. You can walk or take a ride on the cable car. There is a small museum inside. In general, it is a good place to just take a walk.
The symbol of the city of Alanya, many interesting locations inside and near the fortress, not everyone can climb to the top of the fortress on foot, a telephone and a taxi to help, in the heat you can hide inside the fortress in the shade of a coniferous forest, many viewing platforms, must-visit.
Since I am a lover of everything ancient, I really liked it. The fortress is well restored, dating back to the times of the Roman Empire. The views from here are just a bomb. April 24th entrance cost 12 euros, there are plenty of places where you can walk for free up to the fortress. We got here on foot from the lower station of the cable car along the road, then the paths uphill, we decided not to spend money on the canal in 5 minutes. The ascent is not difficult, half an hour maximum, the main thing is to take water with you. There are plenty of paths, if you decide to walk, you can go safely. You can also take a taxi and a cable car.
A medieval fortress, very well preserved in places. I will not retell the audio guide, I recommend listening to the story yourself. I would like to note that the place is quite quiet, there are few tourists, stunning cedars, and a great view of the sea.
Very beautiful view from all sides. You can go upstairs on foot, even without special sports training. For tourists, the place is as refined as possible-steps, floor, observation decks, signs
It is really built on the ruins of antiquity, however, it is partially worth the rebirth... On the territory, in addition to buildings from. There is a deep underground cistern on the island of sticks with awesome acoustics and free entrance (someone wrote below that it is not the only one). Otherwise, there is a lot of reconstruction of disgusting quality. If you have a binocole, I advise you to take it with you. A walk from the funicular takes a lot of time and effort (a lot of descents and ascents), I advise you not to skimp on a return ticket on the funicular: 3 minutes sitting and you will find yourself in the center
A wonderful place!! it is very beautiful, the view is simply amazing, you can get to the top on foot, there you can go to some kind of observation deck for money
We went up and down on the funicular. Then we walked along the wooden floors on the territory of the fortress itself. Beautiful views of the sea and the port, souvenirs are sold, there is a cafe
The place is great. Great view, zeitgeist and all that. But 12 euros for admission is too much. It's a little cheaper with a museum card, but nevertheless. You can walk around for free. The content is provided! 🌿
It is very nice to visit the fortress in the evening. Watch the sunset from the height of the ancient walls. The views are simply cosmic, the photos are just super.
A place that is absolutely not worth the money. Admission is 12 euros per person. In fact, there is nothing but an observation deck. Well, walls and walls, a couple of rooms with stands in Turkish. There is no information in Russian or at least English at all except for the cost of tickets. We got to the fortress by bus, which travels once an hour, at least we didn't overpay for the funicular. You can take the bus from the Cleopatra Beach stop, it goes once an hour, about 40 minutes every hour. He leaves the fortress at 55-00 minutes every hour. Use it) although it is better not to go there in principle
We go there every year. They always dig up something new. Admission is not cheap, 2024 is 12 euros per person. The basilica was opened today. Well, the sea view of Cleopatra beach is incomparable. I recommend you to visit.
A pleasant city, a fortress is its ancient heart. It is better to count on an hour for 2 walks, there is something to see.
They did not go to the Citadel at the very top because of horse prices, without this there are enough impressions and views.
The fortress itself was not very impressed, but the views from it, that's something!!!! It's worth going up there just for that! There is a bus almost to the fortress, but we went on foot. On the way to the fortress, the locals live in small houses, it's interesting)
It's beautifully atmospheric.a piece of history. It is located in the city center. There is a beautiful sea on all sides!!!but if without a guide. There is not enough information for tourists
An excellent monument to the ancient culture of Turkey. You can go upstairs in a rented car without paying for the funicular, because the ticket price does not correspond to reality. You'll have to sweat on the narrow streets with oncoming cars, but the beautiful view above is worth it.
Beautiful views, there is an observation deck along the way. Entrance is 12€ per person, there is nothing to see inside, it is better to look at the next one. Parking 1€ for 8h
It's not worth your money at all ...
As of September 2024, the price is 500 lira. for 1 person.
In fact, the ruins are stupidly the same as what we saw after the funicular, nothing new and picturesque, the views are the same as before, the piles of stones are the same.
Don't waste your time.
The Red Tower... historical museum, shipyards, walls and... turtles!!! There are also houses, flowering trees and prickly cacti. Old mosques and cemeteries... so many things!
It's better to go to the red tower, the fortress is absolutely not worth your money, and it's a perfect pig to sell entrance tickets for 12 euros, but at the same time all information stands are only in Turkish 👎
We spent many pleasant minutes being near the fortress, swimming, enjoying the views of the night Alanya, a wonderful place steeped in history)) thank you Alania !
There were 2 goals back. We wanted to go this year and are shocked by the entrance prices. I am attaching a photo of the ticket 2 years ago. At the new prices, of course, there is nothing to do there.
The old ruins of the fortress and a beautiful view of the bay of Alanya. It's a very atmospheric place. The cable car takes 7 minutes at a cost of 160 Turkish lira. It was built recently to reduce the flow of cars that were breaking up the road to the fortress.
It is a pity that the entrance to the fortress itself is paid for another 160 TL. But the place itself is energetically charged. And it is highly recommended to visit.
There's not much to see inside the fortress, just beautiful panoramic views. There is a small church, fortress walls, several cisterns and cannonballs, a mini-museum. This year, the price was raised from 65 to 150 lira, it's definitely not worth your money. Considering that there were four of us, we gave away more than 2000 rubles. I advise you to take the bus for 15 liras to go upstairs and go down on foot. Then you will see all these walls and atmospheric views for free, and down near damlatash you can visit the archaeological museum for 40 lira, we liked it.
Perhaps one of the first places to visit is the Alanya Fortress. The ticket is 65 lire. + you can take an audio guide in any language. Please note that it closes at 17.00, so you will not be able to meet the sunset there. A pleasant indoor park, you can relax on the bench. I recommend walking the way to the fortress, and then back, the funicular is for the lazy) Be in shape!)
Well, on the verge of cost.
You can take a walk for 30 minutes.
If you expect that there is nothing there at all, then you can be surprised.
If you think that there is a museum there, probably not.
An interesting place to walk and get acquainted with the history of Alanya, the remains of frescoes are even visible in the church. But walking on your own, keep in mind that there are no inscriptions in Russian, at most in English
Historical object. You need to visit if you find yourself in those parts. Upstairs in the fortress everything is ennobled and you can take pictures of the views.
The place is cool, but upstairs you will find a paid entrance to the fortress for 280 lira per person. It's not worth it to me. But you can climb just for the views. There is a pine forest and very good air
