The former archeological museum stands close to the statue of Saint Nino, and they both are in a state of decay. The day of my visit there was heavy rain and the place was totally unguarded, though I didn't venture inside it for a matter of prudence since I was alone, but it would have definitely be possible (though be advised that it is very likely that you might break the law doing so) . You can find some parked cars nearby, it seems that people come here for some privacy. And they are absolutely right, since the atmosphere is relaxing and the place itself is wild and beautiful with this weird architecture that seems to come far from the past, and ready for you to explore it. One of the few places in Tbilisi that still feels authentic, unlike many others that are subgerged by any sort of extemporary advertisements.
A once beautiful and interesting building. There's no point in going and watching it now. Don't waste your time. Everything is broken around, vegetation breaks through the tiles. I was only pleased with the dog who came running with the guards!
There is a very interesting object outside, it is a pity that it is closed(

The building of the archaeological museum. Does not work. It's guarded, so you can't get inside. But the structure is worthy of inspection from the outside.
The building in the plan consists of three cylinders elongated in one line. The spatial planning solution is explained by the fact that it was decided to adapt the water storage tanks located here for the museum. The building is lined with yellow Bolnisi tuff. The central entrance is accentuated by a bas-relief by Tengiz Kikalishvili depicting a man lying in an ancient burial.
Since the 1990s, the museum has operated as a repository, which contained about 10 thousand exhibits. According to the National Museum of Georgia, the building is under reconstruction, but in fact it has been in an abandoned dilapidated state for many years.
