A very small and not very informative museum about Chagall. It is worth a visit if you are really lovers and connoisseurs of the artist's work.
The ticket costs about 10 b.r., at the exhibition you can see some (not the most famous) paintings and illustrations of Dead Souls, which were executed by Chagall. Documentaries about the author are shown, and there is a gift shop. No toilet was found 🤣
It is located in a very pleasant and bright park, that's where I advise you to sit and get some fresh air)
A beautiful modern space. There are Chagall originals, mostly prints. Convenient parking. Friendly staff. An affordable price per ticket. You can view the entire exposition in 20 minutes, but I stayed to watch a film about Marc Chagall's life. Interesting
Excellent exposure. Friendly, friendly, competent, knowledgeable employees. There are souvenirs. There is a day of free admission. Convenient location. The exposures change after a certain time.
We couldn't get to Vitebsk when we were in Belarus for the first time. But on the second visit we went there specifically to visit the Marc Chagall art center. We were very satisfied. A small center with interesting works and broadcasts about the author. Even my husband liked it, although he is not a fan of the artist. Special thanks for the friendliness of the staff)
Only if you are a very big fan of the work of this artist should you take the time to visit here.
Inside, you can watch a documentary by the Culture channel about Marc Chagall (with the same success, if the topic interests you, then you can watch it at home).
From the works of Chagall himself, sketches of illustrations for Gogol's dead souls
Printed graphics are presented from the works of Marc Chagall. There are not so many of them, several dozen works, but we must understand that these are also full-fledged works of the master, even if they are not so well-known. This meeting is very good for Vitebsk. And most importantly, it works all the time. It is important that the works convey the biblical message of the artist, that is, this is the very heart of his work.
Be sure to take a tour - you won't regret it. I was surprised that the exposition changes several times a year, and you can visit this museum again every time you come to the city
A small but interesting gallery with works by Chagall (mainly lithographs) and his associates, like Lisitsky. The exposition solution in the form of bright walls is not the most successful, it greatly interrupts and distracts from work.
An interesting place, you can see several works by Chagall, but there are not many of them. If you are not familiar with the biography, then I recommend watching a movie that will be shown to you on a big TV in the art center.
Admission is slightly more expensive than in similar establishments. After payment, you will be told that you can only view the 1st floor, where the temporary exhibition is presented. At the time of my visit to Vitebsk in November 2024, this exposition did not catch my eye.
They can also include for free an approximately 1-hour film story about Chagall, which can also be found on the Internet.
I am sure that everyone who has come to Vitebsk should visit this place. Everything there is saturated with Chagall, there are originals of his works and an interesting film about his life. The most important thing is that the guides are more in love with art.
A small museum of 3 halls, original works by Marc Chagall are presented. A film about Chagall is being shown in one hall. You can book a tour, but by appointment.
There are no questions about the art center itself, but I did not appreciate Chagall's work. It is clear that there are different directions in painting, but after Repin and Kuindzhi, Chagall's works do not go at all
I probably belong to the majority of the population who did not understand this "creativity". The guides try to tell me that each line means something, but Levitan, Shishkin and other realists are closer to me, and here I would even agree with Khrushchev. Well, this is about Chagall's work, and the museum is like a museum.
An iconic place in the city of Vitebsk, I always try to bring guests of the city here. Good exposure, friendly staff. Themed souvenirs. Excellent location on the Assumption Hill
There is not much of a Chagall. We got to the exhibition based on the biblical motives of Chagall - about 30 small paintings and the entire exhibition. It is interesting with a guide, without - there is nothing to do if you are not a superfan of creativity.
On the second floor this time there were 2 halls with a local contemporary artist with a dozen identical paintings of naked women.
It is clear that the museum needs to survive, but so far it is completely uninteresting in it, come up with some interactive pieces - maybe "assemble the picture piece by piece", guess the Chagall painting from a small fragment. Because there is "no smell of Chagall in the museum," and I would really like it to be in Vitebsk that this artist's awesome place would be, where else, if not here? I wish that crowds of tourists come to you, but for this you need to think and do something.
Not impressed. One room with sketches. The film, which is freely available on VKontakte, tells about the artist.
The toilet is cold, there is no hot water.
It's worth going only if there's nowhere else to go, and there's time.
A small exposition of the master's works, broadcast a film about his life. Before visiting, it is highly advisable to watch Mitta's film "Chagall- Malevich", for the best perception of the Master's life path.
Although the museum is small, it will find something to surprise. My visit fell on the exhibition of original illustrations by Chagall to "Dead Souls" on the ground floor, on the second floor there is an exhibition of paintings not only by Chagall, but also by other artists. I was very pleased with the attention to detail: there are storage rooms at the entrance, in the halls themselves there are televisions with broadcasts about the life and works of artists, as well as benches(!) for visitors. As a result, even the elderly can come to be inspired by creativity without fear of not being able to stand the tour. Special admiration for souvenirs, sufficient choice and very creative variations. I really liked it, I definitely recommend it to visit
The room is 70 sq. m., 25 works (the rest are in the dungeon, because they fade, they are changed every three months), photos from life. If you try hard, you can stretch it for 20 minutes. Maybe the tour is more interesting, but I'm not an amateur.
It's not a bad museum, but the staff needs to decide on photographing - they didn't say a word on the second floor, on the first floor they suddenly said that it was impossible to take pictures.
The norm. The man expressed his thoughts by drawing.
It is not worth praising too much.
The building is located in a beautiful, quiet location. Nearby is the Alley of heroes and one of the two Vitebsk coffee shops where coffee is brewed.
There is nothing to do without a guide. A couple of original works have only recently appeared. As well as reproductions... It's more interesting in the master's house.
The art center is small, even too small, even according to reviews I thought that the halls were bigger. We didn't get the tour. But honestly, there are Chagall's works, the gift shop is very nice. If you get into a free environment, it's generally great.
The museum is a significant place in Vitebsk. Especially the museum, as a living organism, when the Art Center holds events for the general public, allowing visitors to try themselves as an artist.
I really liked it! At the exhibition, not only Chagall, but also Miro, Mathis, Calder, etc.!
There are a lot of interesting souvenirs, my eyes were running away what to choose. We bought and presented souvenirs, our friends liked everything!
The staff is very friendly and courteous, the atmosphere is pleasant, as if they had come to visit their relatives!
Thank you for your hard work!
Interesting for fans of Chagall's art. A small , neat museum .

A place for big fans of the artist. But there were a lot of visitors even on a weekday morning. The exposition is very small. Are you wondering what Chagall's popularity is all about? I think that a lot of artists paint in a similar manner. And here is a world-class star. Do you have any ideas? Thanks
An interesting place. There are few exhibits, but some are unique. Easy immersion in art. Although I don't really like Chagall's work, it was interesting and informative.
The guide is excellent, it is clear that he is very interested in this area, he talked about all the paintings that were exhibited in winter in a very interesting and detailed way. The exhibition was interesting. The impressions were great!
It's a wonderful place. Beautiful graphics Marched towards Gogol's "Dead Souls", French period graphics, a wonderfully decorated space, a nice souvenir kiosk and friendly staff.
I really liked the center. We enjoyed watching the film about M. Chagall and his illustrations for Gogol's work "Dead Souls".We wish you further development.
There are several engravings and small drawings, there are no personal belongings of Chagall, no audio guides, no large paintings. I watched the exhibition in 5 minutes and I think it's a waste of time to come here on purpose. The artist's house on the other side of the river is more interesting.
Probably a question of expectations, but I honestly expected more exposure.
Otherwise, it's good. A small museum, the cost is 7 rubles. The originals of Chagall's works.
Unfortunately, the disappointment (there are few pictures, only graphics. Apparently, all Chagall's paintings were stolen by world museums, we were left with crumbs
not a large but very high-quality exposition. The beautiful graphics Marched towards Gogol's "Dead Souls". Bright, very caricatured and hypertrophied - they very accurately reflect the language of the poem. I highly recommend visiting. Nearby is the obelisk to the heroes of 1812. It is worth paying attention to, also with its own history
Now I know who Marc Chagall is. Before that, I just heard something like a bell.... The museum is very modest, for those who are interested. Everything is very modest, like everything in those days. The main idea that I have is that smart people always achieve recognition!
