A small but very well-chosen main exhibition. The amazing collection of works by Yudel Pen is probably the only one so rich in the world.
A memorable selection of modern paintings. I highly recommend it!
It's a very beautiful museum. A huge number of paintings, a lot of variety. Many artists are gathered there. Creativity is wonderful. I really liked the museum. Great experience
An interesting museum located in a beautiful house, the former governor's palace. There are busts of Lenin and Marx at the entrance. Magnificent interiors, wrought-iron stairs, lots of light. We only saw the main exhibition. It's just like in any good museum. I remember the painting by A. I. Korzukhin "Funeral of a dog". Nowhere else, in the whole world, will you find such a plot and content of the painting.
I recommend you to visit, although the prices for tickets and excursions for one person are too high. The attention of the museum's curators to visitors, several exhibitions and there is always something to see. The staff will answer any of your questions. But to find a cloakroom attendant, to wait is as lucky as you are, the museum really has a problem with this. The staircase in this building struck with its splendor. A fully forged openwork staircase from the beginning of the 19th century. I visited the Matisse exhibition and ordered comments (a guide) for my visit. I got answers to all my questions and the attention of the caretakers, who helped me take good photos.
When visiting Vitebsk, I definitely recommend you to visit this museum and especially the exposition of Pan Yu.M.. We were lucky because a very pleasant and sociable employee of the museum conducted a detailed tour of Pan's work. In general, it is necessary to go and listen about Pan, to the employee of the museum - radela Pen Y.M. special thanks!!!
Beautiful building , interesting exhibitions, friendly staff! But the prices are very high and you have to pay separately for each small exhibition, although you can see it in 10 minutes, literally 20 paintings
An old building with its own history and a beautiful preserved staircase. There are many beautiful paintings by famous Belarusian and not only artists and DPI products
The old building retains the smell of the era. You enter the building and the city noise remains outside the door, and you are in the historical world. Each hall is good for its exposure to it. Contemplating - you think about it, rethink something. And thanks to the Museum for that.
The exposition about the animals of the region is very well decorated. The Zhabovsky approach to dividing into halls is unclear, since if you pay money for each hall, it turns out to be very expensive. And it's not only in this Vitebsk museum.
There were 2 interesting exhibitions in early January, "after the veil, the bride is ready" and Peter Yavich, the exhibitions are very warm and sincere. The museum staff are very friendly.
A little background: I went there at the will of my family, so to speak, "for the company." I've never been to such places, and I wasn't interested. But what was my surprise when, after visiting a couple of exhibitions, I was pleasantly impressed by what was interesting. And even inspiring when I saw a painting from 1903, executed in the same rare style in which I paint. I had a couple of ideas for new works, and even thought about an exhibition of my works (I was embarrassed by my paintings).
The place is interesting, impressive, and inspiring. I recommend it!
A large exposition of the works of Yudel Moiseevich Pan, the teacher of Marc Chagall. It is already worth visiting the museum just for her sake.

There is Repin and Chagall, but I really liked the picture of the Bump, it's just the best thing I've seen in my life, it's just a buzz, but in classic paintings I just wanted to sleep on them it was boring
Thanks to the museum and the museum staff. An interesting collection.
Especially interesting is the collection of treasures found on the territory of the Vitebsk region of various eras.

An excellent museum with a rich collection and a rich exposition - there is something to see. The staff is also polite and helpful.
a good quality museum, we learned a lot of interesting things about the city where we once served, for a long time we "stuck" in front of the volume map of old Vitebsk, looking for what else remained in the city from those times. Go to the museum and wander around it, there is something to see, you will not regret it
We came to the museum and got to the day of free admission to some expositions — one is dedicated to Yu. Foam, the other — Russian painting of the late 19th-early 20th centuries. The museum also hosts paid exhibitions on various topics. Students and schoolchildren can take them at a discount. The museum has friendly staff — one of the employees conducted a short tour of the paid exhibition, although she was not obliged to. The museum also features works by contemporary young artists, which can be viewed for free. The building itself is authentic, one of the few pre-war buildings preserved in the city. It has a unique exhibit — an ancient wrought-iron staircase, which deserves special attention. Despite its small size, the museum is pleasantly surprising, it has a lot to see. In general, we recommend you to visit.
A great museum. Few people, which is strange. I strongly advise you to go. Wonderful, pleasant caretakers, do not follow you around.
But, the most pleasant, definitely, the head is Alexander Afanasievich. I conducted an unexpected and very interesting tour of the exhibition "Man, who are you? ..", literally from the doorstep. He told me about the Vitebsk Art School. Now some of the paintings are "stuck" in my head.
The most vivid impression of Vitebsk. That's what it means, a person is in his place and loves his job. Thank you.
An excellent museum in an ancient building, on the tiles of which I walked, as well as on a metal staircase. At the end of June 2023, a joint exhibition with Valera and Natasha Cherkashin was opened there: rethinking their early work with the help of artificial intelligence.
I really wanted to get to this museum. The valiant cashier did everything today to prevent us from getting there. I want to buy 6(!) tickets to exhibitions for cash, but there is no change, and they offer me to run (I am far from a girl) to a stall and buy something there so that the change is there. To a small remark that we came specifically from Moscow, they replied that they had just handed over the change (and that was at 11.40 am, well, well). And yes, the strange system of a separate ticket for each exhibition surprised me. There is always a main exposition and temporary ones. There is some other system here, its own. Strangely, but ok. The cashier achieved her goal, We turned around and left! Without regret! The museum does not need visitors!!

Interesting exhibitions and there are usually a lot of them, there is a lot to choose from and see. Pleasant staff, they will help you decide on the exhibition)
The exhibitions are located in a historic building with authentic elements. Very good guides.Last Wednesday of the month-free admission to stock exhibitions
Compared to Russia, museums are expensive, the Historical Museum in Moscow is more expensive if you want to see all the exhibitions. It's so accepted in Belarus, so in many museums, that's what I don't like. In Russia, I bought a ticket and walk for 3 hours through all the exhibitions.
A very cool museum!
Several halls of Russian painting,
The hall of a local artist who worked in the academic style of Yu. Pan. He is considered the teacher of Marc Chagall.
An old cast-iron staircase.
Welcome Deputy Director!
I recommend
A very good museum, friendly staff! The caretakers in the halls will prompt and tell you about the paintings, the history, the biographies of the artists, thank you very much! Very interesting! I will definitely come back
For each exhibition (for 1 room), payment is made separately, for 4p. That is, if you want to walk around the whole museum, then 32 rubles. I've never seen anything like this before. In general, there is nothing remarkable about the museum, it does not catch on.
But this fact with the payment surprised me. In Minsk, the huge national art museum has a 12p entrance fee for everything, so there are replicas of great artists + temporary exhibitions. This payment principle is not clear at all.
I would like to quote the famous character "Last year's snow fell": "It won't be enough, it won't be enough!" The museum's funds are much larger than those presented, there are imported exhibitions, but this is so hopelessly small, you walk with a feeling of oversight. It is interesting, but not to the point of complete satisfaction with art.
A small museum with real paintings. It is a pity that there are few exhibits . I was a little surprised that each section is paid separately, but in general the price is not great.
A chic museum, many incredible masterpieces of modern and antique painting, very interesting exhibitions of local and world artists are often held, inexpensive admission, and positive impressions will remain for years
You won't be surprised by permanent exhibitions, but imported ones can be quite exclusive. A few years ago there was an exhibition of Dali-Picasso, this year there is a good exhibition of Dutch and Flemish artists, prints and an original sketch of a painting by V. Van Gogh
I really love provincial art museums! They sometimes hold real pearls! And the building itself serves as a bonus, as in the Vitebsk Museum. A wonderful collection and a beautiful cast-iron staircase!
A wonderful museum, a wonderful collection. I would especially like to mention the hall of Yuri Pan, the teacher of Marc Chagall. Very beautiful expositions. I liked the quest exposition, in the days of the Slavic bazaar. It is very informative and exciting. Many thanks to the initiators and organizers of the event. I got great pleasure from meeting the beautiful one.
The museum is good. But we divided it into exhibitions, so if you want to visit, everything turns out to be expensive - 3 × 8 = 24 rubles approximately. There is no family ticket, as in the Town Hall.
