Sukhum has a fairly long beach and embankments. During the entire stay (12 days), the sea was disturbed twice, and the rest of the days there was calm, the water was clean and transparent, there were pebbles near the shore, and after 1.5-2 meters sand was felt underfoot, the entrance to the water was not sharp, which is convenient for those who rest with children or do not swim very confidently. There are cafes, changing rooms, and fresh water showers on the beach. There are sun beds, umbrellas, but you can sunbathe on your own bedspreads or towels, there are also entertainment options (subs, catamarans, banana rides), you can take a ride on a yacht, a pleasure boat. The ads are not intrusive. No one is shouting into a megaphone. This beach is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday and enjoying the sea

Nice beach. Personally, I didn't get a large pebble, but otherwise everything is fine. There are many cafes where you can have a full lunch or a light snack. Sun beds for 150 rubles, with an umbrella. The sea is rough, of course, but maybe I was just unlucky. And something needs to be thought out with toilets, well, it's not normal that they just don't exist (or I could only find one Soviet-era one that stinks a kilometer away, I was afraid to even approach it).

Sukhum has two impressions, the SEA is always cool, but the rest: a lot of garbage (although they try to clean up the beaches), ruins and burnt buildings are depressing. And so - beautiful nature, the locals are mostly good people. Bottom line: it is possible and necessary to go if someone was not there, I would visit again.

The most gorgeous beach in Sukhum, (Abkhazia).
Pebbles, good old pebbles. I was on this beach as a child 35 years ago.
Nothing has changed, everything is the same, just 35 years older.
Some parapets were out of order and they were closed.
In general, the beach is clean, cozy and comfortable, it was in June 2024, there were very few people.

I liked the beach - there are a lot of places, few people, no one bothers anyone, and the main thing is clean. Beauty! Of course not sand, pebbles... But the water is the purest. 2-3 meters into the sea and already deep. But the bottom is visible at the same time. I would like to see iron decking with handrails for entering and exiting the sea. This is very convenient, especially when there is a small wave. Anti-corals-in my opinion they are necessary, I can't walk barefoot on pebbles. Trampolines are installed on the beach - according to observation, the trampoline is popular not only among children, but also among adults. The beaches are equipped with changing cabins. That's the trouble with toilets.

The beaches are pebbly, This year even the famous "Mocha" was not pleased with the sand, they say that these two storms in winter caused a lot of pebbles there. We swam (lived nearby) on the sections of the beach closer to the port, at the very end of the embankment of the Dioscuri, that is, less equipped for recreation. A year ago, these were just sections of a pebble beach, the only thing was a locker room and a shower, old, Soviet ones were still everywhere. This year there are new changing rooms, umbrellas, sun beds, gazebos, bungalows, cafes. There is more entertainment on the beaches closer to the city center, it will be more fun with the kids there.

The city of Sukhum has not been landscaped since the collapse of the USSR, nothing has been done. I do not recommend going on vacation to Abkhazia, the people have become dishonest. About a private beach. Depending on the sector, the pebbles are from large to small. The cafe at the Marina (on Jonua Street) is excellent. Chebureks are just awesome! Beer in ice mugs! In general, it is much better than Mocha. And there are fewer people, and it's cheaper.
