A tired hotel, everything looks much better in the photo than reality, although it claims to be the 5th check-in. The lawns are streaked with gray, not the most beautiful beach. In Sri Lanka for the first time. There were no special expectations for the hotel, as the reviews were different. However, when we arrived, we did not regret it, in general, we liked everything, the room was tired of course, but the view from the window was beautiful, the view of palm trees, greenery and the ocean, we cleaned the room-we tried well, of course, but once there was dirty linen, with stains, and so, in general, acceptable, we did not stop there we got hung up because the staff was friendly and tried to help without any problems (they definitely offered cleaning, room water, etc. a couple of times a day). The territory of the hotel is well-groomed, green, there are many chipmunks, a couple of monitor lizards live, peacocks also flew in the morning, lizards ran on our balcony, one even got into the room)) so keep in mind, there are animals there))). We climbed into the ocean, swam, if you can call it that, because where we swam, it was shallow enough, but we didn't risk going deeper, it was still dangerous, you were standing, it seemed shallow, and then like a wave rolls in, and you're already up to your chest, and the force of the wave pulls you along, so it was enough for us reef backwater, plus the hotel has a nice clean pool. Meals were taken only for breakfast. Everything is arranged, the cuisine is diverse, you can find it by yourself.
You go outside the hotel to the beach and there are cafes there, we went for lunch or dinner there, the price tag is inexpensive. There are a lot of locals on the beach, yes, but they don't bother, except for those who sell clothes, for example. We also found a local guide there, or rather he came up to us, his name is Sledge. He speaks Russian quite well. We spent the whole vacation going wherever we wanted, on a call he adjusted his tuk tuk to the hotel (100 rupees round trip around the area, it is of course very cheap, but the drivers were not arrogant, did not cheat, no longer asked how much Sledge said to pay, they waited so much, but we paid more at our request). At the end of the vacation, the wife had a birthday, they said about it, he said he would give fruit, they thought he was joking, but no, he really brought it, well done, trying to develop the service!). We organized a car trip by ourselves on the Unawatuna-Hikkaduwa-Fort Galle route, also to see the island, we really liked it, by the way, we also rented a car and a driver from Sledge, we haggled for the price of the trip, so if anything, bargain, he goes to a meeting))). We went on a day trip from the tour operator, to the bridge, the tea factory and the waterfall, in short, the tea factory is a prop for a tourist, it was understandable, but nevertheless it was interesting to see, they treated us there with delicious tea, decided to buy it, understood that there would be a margin for a tourist, but this It's no secret, we decided to take it. In fact, the tea you bought is not the same! It turned out that what was served and what was sold did not match the taste and quality even close! We found this already at home, so DO NOT BUY TEA at a tourist tea plantation, we were advised the Mlesna brand, it was taken from the appropriate store, not far from our hotel, so it's not bad.
In general, we are very satisfied with the rest, we will return to the area of Unawatuna or Hikkaduwa, they are more developed in terms of infrastructure.

We went to Sri Lanka at the call of our soul, Cinnamon Bey was also chosen intuitively and did not lose.
At the hotel, we were immediately met by the staff and served chilled face towels, which was already a pleasant surprise and was very welcome after a long grueling journey. After that, we were invited to go to the cozy lobby, where they offered refreshing drinks while we waited for check-in. The first person who surrounded us with care was the cheerfully smiling administrator Rumishan, who also accompanied us to the room and throughout the rest tried to quickly solve any of our questions, and also often wondered if everything was OK with us) In general, our acquaintance with the sincere Lankans began with Rumishan. Another of the reception staff would like to mention the work of Vihan. A very pleasant and attentive person.
The room turned out to be very comfortable, it felt like we were at home.
I also liked the beautiful well-groomed territory of the hotel, walking paths, green lawns, where in the morning and afternoon you could watch the games of nimble palm squirrels. The ocean is just around the corner, thanks to the reef, there are places where the waves are not strong and you can safely frolic. If you didn't want to relax by the ocean, we would chill by the pool. The staff quickly organized sun beds and provided towels)
The interior of the hotel is a separate song. A combination of loft and ethnicity. There are a lot of unusual details. Large open spaces. It was always interesting to be in it. In the evenings, exhibitions of various artists and live music were held. I especially remember the Shaman and his original playing of chopsticks on the guitar)
We only had breakfast and dinner, even considering that we adhere to a plant-based diet, we never had any problems with the choice. Lots of vegetables and unusual dishes. Yes, a lot of spicy stuff. But we found the right one for ourselves)
In the restaurant, we met the service manager Chatura. One day, he came up to us to find out if everything was fine with us and from that moment on, we began to communicate every day and not only on recreation issues. A super person who is charged with work and it is clear how important the comfort of guests is for him. And there was also a moment when we got caught in the rain and caught a little cold, Chatura, at our request, brought some honey so that we could drink tea) Thanks to such people, a favorable atmosphere is created!
A tour of the famous places was organized by a clear beach boy Nadish. Said-done. Your man! You can safely trust him)
Also, our vacation was made wonderful by the pastry chef Udeni, who prepared special vegan desserts for us, the radiant waiter Dilshan, the kind Lasantika, the kind guide Champika, the conscientious room boy Patim and others. Unfortunately, not all the names could be remembered to mention here.
It was our first vacation in Sri Lanka. And we were delighted! Picturesque views and responsive people who smile a lot)

In November 2023, I made an unforgettable trip to Sri Lanka. For four days I stayed at the Sinamon Bay Hotel, which left me with extremely positive impressions. Here I found my own private beach where I could completely relax, as well as a huge swimming pool, which gave me a feeling of luxury. The territory of the hotel was beautifully maintained, and walking around it was a real pleasure.
My room was cozy and comfortable, equipped with everything you need: air conditioning, refrigerator, safe and TV. Fresh and pleasant-to-the-touch sheets were waiting for me in bed, and soft towels were in the bathroom. The hotel also offered dry cleaning, laundry, luggage storage and concierge services. The bar was open around the clock, which allowed me to enjoy drinks at any time.
I was very impressed with the food in the restaurant, which offered a varied buffet. I also attended massage and spa treatments, which helped me to completely relax and enjoy the moment. Stable Wi-Fi was available both in the room and throughout the hotel, which was important for my comfort.
Regarding beach guides such as Auchan and Chanaka, I recommend not to get involved. They often inflate prices, may add additional fees during excursions, and will also bring you Ayurvedic and jewelry stores with cheap and low-quality products. I advise you to contact a wonderful guide named Cherry. He speaks excellent Russian and was available at any time of the day or night) via whatsapp. He is a very kind and helpful Lankan, always ready to help in any situation and never brought me to where the fake is. Yes, it is more expensive than in shops from beachmen, but high-quality products. I even bought myself a ring with a moonstone in the "Princess", in this part of the island I recommend taking it only there, they give all the documents, the rest of the shops are not a fountain and can deceive. Familiar Russian jewelers, upon arrival, checked out the product. Cherry also arranged for me to transfer to Katuneyake airport at a very reasonable price, much cheaper than the beach guides offered. A very nice car, the driver provided wi-fi. Cherry also helped me with deliveries to shops, on excursions and anywhere on the west coast for a reasonable fee. He arranged for me an unforgettable fishing trip in the open ocean, and then an evening barbecue on the shore with a huge bonfire and fireworks, where I enjoyed the sunset and seafood. I recommend this to everyone.

Hello! I am currently writing a review while staying at the Cinnamon Bey Hotel. The hotel is located on the ocean, the water is clean, the approach is convenient, the sand is clean for a holiday with children is an ideal option. The territory of the hotel is green, well-groomed, with a huge swimming pool and lots of wildlife. The hotel staff is very friendly and conscientious. I would like to express special thanks to Hemantha, who works by the pool, cured our hand from a sea urchin injection. There is a guy Chanaka on the beach who accompanied us all the way (excursions, lobsters, shrimp, fruits and even medicines), he speaks Russian perfectly, did everything through him, never let us down. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the whole problem is that you can't fully swim in the ocean. Reefs, waves and changeable currents make swimming an extreme activity. But the hotel has a nice 50-meter pool. Everything is fine, though you need to know English at least a little. The administration does not speak Russian. All beaches in Sri Lanka are public, be prepared to fend off the intrusive local service. If you decide to travel to Sri Lanka, then I definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is on 4. Everything is patched up. There is no food for a Russian. For breakfast, the only thing we are used to is fried eggs. Most of the dishes are designed for Indians and locals, everything is spicy and specific. I was with a child in April 2023 and the location turned out to be very convenient - the beach near the hotel is fenced off from the ocean by a reef, on which waves break and therefore it is safe for even children to swim, despite the fact that the proximity of the rainy season was felt and the ocean was not calm. If desired, you can walk along the shore and very close to another kind of beach with incoming waves, where you can take surfing lessons. That's what I did for the child - an 11-year-old girl in 1.5 hours of class was able to hold on and drive 5 times). Also, the attentiveness and politeness of the staff, and the willingness to help - this is 5. What you should pay attention to: it's worth taking a mosquito repellent - smear and fumigator (I forgot and bought lemongrass oil in the nearest store - it helped, mosquitoes eat in the evenings even though they are poisoned). The hotel has American-format sockets, so the adapter will come in handy, but perhaps the holes in your room will already be widened and you can insert them without an adapter (I did not take it, I asked for an adapter, but it still did not work through it and as a result the electrician just picked out with a screwdriver and inserted my charger). There is a kettle in the room and tea and coffee were always replenished, as well as 1.5 liters of water were brought every day. There is an ironing board and an iron. But there was no hair dryer, I asked - they brought it
