One of the favorite places in Istanbul. I advise you to go to vivianna cafe, over a cup of coffee with cheesecake, Sans Sebastian will enjoy the views of the Galata Tower.(the range of desserts is good)
In the evening, there is an interesting illuminating show on the walls of the tower.I must say right away the place is crowded, especially in the evening, so for photos with fewer people it is better to choose the hours before lunch
We lived in Istanbul next to this tower, the very center. There are a lot of tourists, the awesome energy of this place. The tower itself is illuminated in the evening with all kinds of patterns, very beautiful. A wonderful place for a hiking trip! The tower stands on a hill, and it can be seen from almost everywhere. So we could easily find our place of residence from everywhere.
The view from the tower is magnificent, breathtaking, inside there is a mini museum, a souvenir shop, you can take an elevator almost to the observation tower, then a couple of flights up the stairs, but it's not as stressful as it could be without an elevator, there are a lot of people. Everything would have been fine if it hadn't been for the price of 30 euros, we wouldn't have gone there for that kind of money, but we had a museum map of Istanbul, and the entrance to the tower was included in it, so we didn't deny ourselves such a pleasure, but 30 euros is definitely not worth it.
Very beautiful evening lighting!!! A view of the night city, but there is no longer a huge queue for the observation deck)) Nearby is a nice atmospheric street with cafes overlooking the tower. You can enjoy a cup of coffee and spectacular dynamic lighting of the tower.
An iconic place in Istanbul, a historical monument of architecture, an observation tower. An elevator will take you up. Standing on a hill, be ready to climb the narrow beautiful streets in a sporty way or take a taxi. When you are in Istanbul, be sure to go, the city is in the palm of your hand. There is a small exposition on the floors on the way down. The only problem is, everything has become expensive. 50 euros per ticket, in my opinion, is too expensive to visit for 30-40 minutes.
A place worth visiting. The main thing is a great panoramic view from above. Again - after a good repair)
It is located in the most European part of the city. I recommend walking along the surrounding streets, where, in some places, there is quite a European look. The same cannot be said about the city as a whole.
A great opportunity to see the city from the height of a 360-degree bird flight, a view of Sofia and the entire panorama of the city. Entrance is paid, the platform inside the tower has different tiers, on one side there is a mock-up of the city, above there is an exit to the observation part. To visit undoubtedly when traveling to Istanbul.
It is very high, there are quite a lot of people who want to get inside. You can find the Galata Tower by following a variety of signs in English, wandering a little through the narrow streets of Istanbul)) There is a cafe nearby where you can relax after drinking coffee and enjoying a delicious cheesecake poured with chocolate.
5 stars only for the view, the tower itself is not particularly interesting. To the top by elevator, back only on foot up a very steep spiral staircase. There are very long queues first at the ticket office, then at the tower itself, you can spend about 2 hours.
2 Tips
1) Buy a ticket from them on their website in advance and thus stand less
2) Go closer to sunset, the sunset from the tower is fantastic
Galata Tower is one of the historical sights, which offers a good view of the historical part of Istanbul. I don't see any point in describing it, since it is one of the main places visited by tourists. Istiklal Street is just passing by, along which you can then walk and, of course, see the famous red tram. There are a lot of tourists in these locations
I love the atmosphere near the Galata Tower! There are many cozy cafes. The tower itself is beautifully illuminated in the evening. It is also worth going up, despite the price of the entrance ticket. The view from above is excellent 👌🏼
A beautiful panorama from the tower, but the entrance is too expensive for non-Turkish citizens (30€). Inside there is a museum, an interactive platform for the flight of a scientist from a tower on artificial wings. At the end there is a classic souvenir shop
An iconic landmark of Istanbul. There are many beautiful old narrow streets around, which in themselves are very interesting for walking. It's full of tourists. An abundance of cafes.
A great place to walk around the tower and try the advertised San Sebastian cheesecake.
But paying 30 euros for a lift is too much! It is best to find some restaurant with a veranda that offers the same view of the Bosphorus.
Great, but this place
is a must-visit, if you are coming from the Galata Bridge, use the lift (free). It will be less comfortable on foot and it is better to return downstairs on foot, stopping at small cafes.
This is a landmark. That says it all. There are a lot of people who want to go up and enjoy the view of the Bosphorus. It is located next to Istiklal Street. It's easy to find. There are many cafes, restaurants, shops nearby.
I highly recommend it to those who are friends with health. But he's not friends with....
First, from the embankment, you will hike up the mountain through the city streets. At the same time, the slope of the asphalt is well 35 degrees. In other words, it's like going uphill vertically.
There's a bonus waiting for you at the top. Paid entrance to the tower. It seems 2500 rubles of the Russian Federation. Per person.
Next to the tower. Where people are like cockroaches in a trash can. How to get up or down comfortably... forget it.
It's especially good upstairs. If you throw a couple of people through the viewing windows and you can gain a foothold with at least one of them, then the feeling of a meaningful loss of money begins to appear. But not for long. You are already being carried somewhere without your will …
Stunning 360° view, informative museum, everything is in very good condition.
A rather expensive entrance ticket is 30€ per person for tourists. The queue may be long, but it moves fast.
For the first time we lived near the Galata Tower. The historical and architectural monument of Istanbul. This is probably one of the places where there is a desire to take a picture for memory. You can see it differently from different sides of the tower. We did not go on an excursion to the tower itself (they write correctly - there is always a big queue). Recommend, 100% yes😍
It is beautiful, the area is small at the foot of the tower, it is really visible from both the Bosphorus and the bridge, they did not climb, there are very long queues. It is better to spend this time walking around the area
The tower is recognized as one of the oldest in the world, it appeared on the shores of the Bosphorus approximately in 1348. It is believed that the foundation of the tower was laid by the Genoese, who captured Istanbul. It was built as the dominant defensive fortress.
Inside there are nine floors, most of which are occupied by the archaeological museum. His exhibition is dedicated to the history of the tower on Galata Hill: from the time of the Byzantines to the period of the Ottoman Empire. There are instruments for astronomical observations, a large historical model of Istanbul, and even a multimedia screen with a reconstruction of the appearance of the Turkish Icarus, Ahmet Celebi, and his wings, with which he made his legendary flight.
The observation deck offers an excellent panoramic view of the Uskyudar area in the Asian part of Istanbul.
The main sights of the city are also visible: Ayia‑Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace.
If you want to take gorgeous photos… This way for you) also surrounded by a large number of cafes with a great view, but always a full landing! Check with the cafe if there may be views from the roof on the upper floors.
I advise you to come here for breakfast ... and there will be few people) or rather noticeably fewer)))
It's always very lively in this place.
This place is one of the symbols of Istanbul. Cool location. You can climb the tower for separately purchased tickets.
Nearby is the Beyoglu station, with the oldest meter in Istanbul and Europe!
The tower itself is beautiful. The view from it is wonderful. I visited in 2020.
Now the cost is biting, 30 euros.
Therefore, since she lived next to the tower and the view from the hotel was no less beautiful, she did not visit.
Get ready for frenzied queues and a bunch of people who want to take a photo against the background of the tower.
There was no such situation in 2020…
It is a beautiful landmark, the tower itself has not been climbed, but the views from below are wonderful, the streets nearby are very colorful. There are many cafes in the Galata Tower area
Almost disgusting. The star is only for the beautiful view of the panorama of the city. All posters show the price of 30 €, however, you will not be able to buy a ticket at this price (although the pleasure is quite overpriced), only together with the audio guide + 350lir. And if you don't have access to the Internet, then this guide will just be a pair of headphones that were given to you along with a dead weight ticket (a record of the guide from the museum's Internet site). And the cost of communication in Turkey is really not the cheapest pleasure - add to the ticket price and there will be an exorbitantly unrealistic tariff for a simple viewing platform. It would not be bad to give out real guides with recordings or at least provide wifi. But tourists eat everything up
Great location! We lived not far from the Marmaris hotel and walking, plus shopping, and the breakfasts and lunches were great! I liked everything so much that I don't want to go to Istanbul anymore.
1100 lire!
This is the only negative
A beautiful fashionable place
There are many cafes around, people are walking
A light show is shown on the tower in the evening
But we didn't go up to the 1100lr tower, there's a cafe with a terrace next to it, and there's a similar view from there
The medieval Genoese Tower in the Galata part of Istanbul's Beyoglu district is a must-see! It is recognized as one of the oldest in the world, appeared on the shores of the Bosphorus around 1348. It is believed that the foundation of the tower was laid by the Genoese, who captured Istanbul. It was built as the dominant defensive fortress. Touch the story and feel it where it was created)
The view from the Galata Tower is simply amazing. It is best to climb it before sunset to look at the city both during the day and at night, when all the lights come on.
Of the disadvantages, it can be noted that tickets have become very expensive, and there are constant queues for tickets and for climbing the tower.
Expectations were not fulfilled..
Of all the main attractions in Istanbul, the tower is definitely not worth a visit
, the huge price (30€) but in fact about 40€, since you still have to buy headphones, download the app to your phone and do a lot of unnecessary red tape to see the "magnificent" view of the garbage and, to put it mildly, not the highest floor…
So it's better not to waste time on this, but go to a panoramic restaurant and see all the same things, so also have a delicious meal)
An architectural monument that requires patience, as there are always huge queues, and physical preparation, as it is necessary to climb up, but it gives excellent views of Istanbul. It's better to come early in the morning, then there are fewer people. You can have a nice Turkish-style breakfast nearby.
The Galata Tower is beautifully located, it offers a great view of the city and you can see the sunset!
There are a lot of cafes and shops in the tower area, some very worthwhile
You can see it from anywhere in the city, it's good to have a hotel nearby, you can get there in any condition... I did not go up to the top, because the price for getting there does not correspond to the desired view that opens at the top of the tower !! There are good cafes for breakfast and dinner around.
I love the old days, but it's expensive for 30 euros here. The view of Istanbul is beautiful. Inside the tower there is an elevator to the 7th floor, down-on foot. The stairs are cool. Loopholes, windows. Exhibitions, shop. Everything.
It's a great structure. One of the important symbols of Istanbul. Museum Card is valid at the entrances
Galata Declivity Tower, which is considered among the oldest towers in the world and is one of the symbols of Istanbul, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2013. Galata Tower Galata Tower, one of the most important buildings forming the silhouette of Istanbul, was used as a fire observation tower for a long time and was called Galata Fire Tower.
It is known that after Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi completed his flight in Üsküdar in the seventeenth century by tying wooden wings to his back from the Galata Tower, where he conducted flight experiments, the interest in the tower gradually increased.
Galata Tower was first built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian in 507 - 508 AD. The present tower was rebuilt by the Genoese in 1348-49. The tower was raised between 1445 and 46 Dec. it was damaged by an earthquake in the 1500s and was repaired by architect Murad bin Hayreddin. III. After the tower was repaired during the reign of Selim, a bay window was added to the upper floor of the tower. in 1831, the tower suffered another fire, II. Mahmut goes up two more floors on the tower and the top of the tower is covered with the famous dam cover in the form of a cone. the tower, which was repaired in 1967, will be restored again in 2020.
the views from the tower are stunning, the tower looks very powerful externally, there is an elevator inside, you have to go down a spiral staircase, on each floor there are museum exhibits from different eras
Galata Tower is an interesting landmark with a panoramic view of the city. There is a restaurant and a cafe on the top floor. The tower can be visited by taking an elevator or a wooden staircase. The view from the observation deck is beautiful, but the platform is narrow, and sometimes it is difficult to get past other tourists. The restaurant and cafe offer a good selection of food and drinks. Opening hours and prices may vary depending on the season.
The only impressive view from the tower is of the city, it's really beautiful. The entrance fee is 30 euros. There was a huge queue at the entrance, a crowd at the observation deck, and a very sparse exhibit. Everything can be viewed in about 40 minutes if you look thoughtfully.
It's not worth your money at all.
Huge queue, super ticket price. Who cares, a wonderful view of the Golden Horn. It's better to sit in the cafe downstairs to drink coffee and try San Sebastian.
Great views, we were in the afternoon and in the rain, I would like to view Istanbul from this tower in the evening, I recommend it, it's very expensive, but with a museum card at least some savings, keep in mind there is no toilet in it. But the tower is cool, I highly recommend it.
One of the most recognizable symbols of Istanbul, a must-visit, if not from the inside, then at least from the outside. As you know, prices for tourist attractions this year are not pampered, and therefore not everyone can afford the fun of being inside the tower now. But there is a wonderful opportunity to drink tea and taste sweets on one of the terraces overlooking the tower. The views are simply dizzying
I was here in March 2024, closed for reconstruction. The area nearby is very busy. I lived in a hotel nearby, I didn't regret it at all, the location is excellent. The tower is visible from many points of the city and looks very beautiful from afar. Next to the tower, I shopped at the supermarket in the evening, bought a SIM card, fruits and had dinner. It is a pleasure to walk along the branched, confusing, ancient streets nearby. Those who were told to definitely visit it, the views are impressive, but it's a pity I couldn't)
