The museum is quite expensive, and what's inside it doesn't justify the price. Most pictures are of minor artists that followed some European artistic currents without being noticed. There are very few painting masterpieces, some of the sculptures are somewhat more noteworthy. Probably most of the money are for the building that looks recently renovated. Though I didn't appreciate the entrance to the galleries which resembles going into a cage. Not a great experience.
A good museum with a huge exhibition
There are a lot of different artists and styles
For a leisurely exploration of each floor, set aside at least 2 hours. If you run through it superficially, it's too big, and you'll end up with a mess in your head.
Admission is 30 GEL for foreigners
If you love painting and sculpture, you definitely come here. But get ready, it will take a long time. We were with the children, thanks for the benches in each hall))) There are many paintings, many stories of writing them, they got on a school trip, they themselves were dragged out and began to eavesdrop, especially the involvement of young people was surprised: they ask questions, discuss paintings. A bright impression of the museum remained. One thing is unclear: the exhibition is on the upper floors, the rest are empty, the first impression was that they got into a museum that was not working. We didn't get to the Banksy exhibition, it's a pity. I recommend you to visit.
The museum is great, but the staff has "boorish behavior", and it's amazing how such an "anti-combination" incredible cultural place is next to tactless people who exceed their official duties.
I went to their museum, and they were like, "we don't like" how you put on a mask... ahaha.. In general, the feeling is that after they got a job as administrators, they imagined themselves to be the rulers of the world who solve all issues and, in order to somehow make their opinion important, they got a job in the civil service.
A woman who pretended for a long time that she did not understand Russian suddenly spoke perfect when they needed it.
In general, if you remove people from the museum, without Homo sapiens, and come to look only at the results of labor as art, then it's a great place.
by the way, it does not work until 18:00, as it says on the website and in Google, but until 17:30.
A gorgeous collection, saw a lot of new and exclusive things. There are a lot of halls. It will take a long time to walk. The dressing room was not offered.I had a hard time with things and warm clothes in winter. And the people were all dressed up. It was all overshadowing. The price is high. But the impressions are worse from the work
There is a good museum in the center opposite the parliament , I didn 't like everything , but there are interesting paintings and installations , though I looked around hastily before the plane . The entrance is 30 GEL (it was only by card) inside there is a shop with various souvenirs and museum goods.
The museum is excellent, it is worth visiting to have an idea of Georgian painting. But the store at the museum is sad and sad, the girl at the checkout with a very unfriendly face, there are no prices for half of the goods, it is not entirely clear what is with pricing (a three-dimensional sticker on the phone is 10 GEL), postcards, magnets and all that is priceless, stickers with codes by which they will be punched are also not there
An impressive, beautiful, modern museum.
The museum features works by 20th-century artists, and was lucky enough to get to the Banksy exhibition in January 2024.
Polite and helpful staff, who speak Russian and English.
Pleasant atmosphere, large halls and plenty of space.
There is also a cafe on the ground floor.
An inspiring place to spend the whole day.
A beautiful modern space. It is well thought out for exposition work. Temporary exhibitions can be interesting, but the permanent exhibition is at the level of street vernissages. A very mediocre collection of the latest Georgian art is exhibited without any concept. It seems that the artists were selected by acquaintance or their hierarchy in the local Union of Artists.
There is amazing light inside, everything is modernly decorated, including an elevator and a glass staircase. The collection features works by different artists, so everyone can find something to their liking. There is a huge collection of paintings and other works of art here. If you are traveling in Georgia, it is worth visiting the museum at the beginning of your trip. I especially liked the exhibition of works by Banksy and Georgian artists.
I liked the museum. The works are mostly by graduates of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. The hospitable girl at the entrance showed everything and told me in good English. Sunny sensual Georgian painting leaves a very pleasant impression.
The variety of paintings and techniques impressed! There are a lot of halls and paintings. There is sculpture, mixed media. It's just a shame that they didn't find Pirosmani. They say it weighs on the second floor. The exhibition is definitely worth the money.
Disappointment!
Large exhibition space, bright, comfortable. Five floors, many halls. Comfortable modern elevators. Nice cafe on the ground floor. However, the exposure is weak. There's nothing to see. There are a couple of corners with works by artists of the Soviet period - the best thing in this museum. There are interesting sculptures. The rest is not worth paying attention to. The gaze does not want to stop at anything. It doesn't smell like painting, it's the capital!
One floor is given over to the Banksy exhibition. Complete trash!
The ticket costs 40 lari/person. I do not recommend it. Don't waste time and money.
I'm not thrilled. Two small floors for the price of 40 lari. Half of the floor was occupied by the Pirosmani exhibition and there are a couple of Kandinsky paintings - and thanks for that. The cashier spoke neither Russian nor English.
After reading this article, I learned and read about two interesting museums in Georgia - the Museum of Modern Art of the Georgian artist Zurab Tsereteli and the Akaki Tsereteli House Museum. Since I have already been to Tbilisi, I visited the Akaki Tsereteli House Museum and was impressed by its unique collection of historical objects. At the museum, I learned a lot of interesting things about the life and work of Akaki Tsereteli, as well as about Georgian culture and history in general. Now I am also so interested in visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Georgian artist Zurab Tsereteli to see his work and learn more about contemporary Georgian art. Many thanks to the largest directory about Georgia Madloba madloba.info for the fact that I can get information about such cultural and historical places!
The museum is located on Rustaveli Avenue, opposite the parliament building, partly repeating its architectural motifs, in particular, the high arches of the facade. Inside is a typical high-tech, solid glass: stairs, ceilings, elevators. The exhibition mainly features contemporary Georgian artists, some of them in the whole hall. For the first time I saw the original works of Sergei Parajanov, unfortunately, there are only three of them here. And it was surprising that out of the five floors, the museum's exhibits occupy only the top two, perhaps the rest are reserve areas for future expansion of the collection.
A beautiful modern museum with an unusual exhibition of paintings and sculptures. I haven't heard of many artists, but I've written down a few names in my notes. It seems that it is big, but in 2 hours you can go through all the floors
The most beautiful museum filled with beautiful paintings and art objects. The cost is 18 GEL.
Three floors with many halls, each with exhibitions of Georgian artists from 1950 to the present day.
I really enjoyed my time there.👍🏻
By the way, the whole staircase is made of transparent glass, so emotions start from the entrance.

I recommend it to lovers of modern painting. Set aside ~ 2 hours for a visit if you like to look at paintings without running a marathon between them. The museum has a good informative website, you can get acquainted with the collections before visiting.
A lot of impressions, but there are a lot of pictures. By the end of the examination, we were very tired. It is better to go through several rounds. Inside the building is transparent, glass steps, unusual and scary. Georgian artists impressed with their skill and imagination.
The viewing starts from the 5th floor, part of it was closed for the Benxi exhibition, so I looked only at the 4th and 5th floors, where famous Georgian artists of the XX century are exhibited.
There is no audio guide, the ticket is 18 GEL.
Delicious coffee in the cafe at the museum.

The museum is very interesting with its architectural solution, although the glass steps and platforms are somehow confusing. The presented paintings by contemporary artists of Georgia were very impressive .

The museum is good, thank you. But your cafe is completely unprofessional staff. They pretend that they do not understand English, look down on Russians. Why don't you write on the museum doors right away that you hate Russians?
A wonderful place! Two floors of different paintings. I really liked it!

The museum is large and spacious, with an elevator and stairs. I remove one star for an inadequate price not for Georgians - 30 lari (local 15), I remove the second star for the lack of an audio guide
A wonderful museum, a lot of unusual and interesting things. But why are there flashing light bulbs in every room, and there's more than one somewhere, electricians are resting?
