Museums in Georgia are overpriced and I always get out of them very disappointed. The National Gallery of Georgia develops over two levels and, while one might still find it interesting to have a look, it is really difficult to understand how can such a lively country with sunny landscapes, good food and nice people, can produce this art which is made mainly of grotesque figures, or depressive portraits of the city or the people.
The ticket for tourists is 25 lari, the price for such a small exhibition is greatly overestimated. The gallery has 2 floors, 8 halls
There is modern art on the ground floor, there are very few exhibits, and it does not cause much excitement.
On the second floor there are works by 20th century artists. Judging by the previous reviews from the photo, the exposure has not changed for a long time. I don't recommend it.
We visited the gallery in April 2025. The entrance fee is GEL 25. Everything is neat and civil inside, but the exposure is weak, to put it mildly. The ground floor is completely empty, with 3 large, almost empty halls of contemporary art.
The exposition on the second floor is rather sparse, it took us about 20 minutes to complete the entire gallery. Is this really all that can be imagined in
