Excellent preservation of such an ancient structure. Only one of the original columns has been preserved, but this is easily explained by seismic activity. The most complete arch is to the right of the entrance to the old town. I have almost completely preserved the patterns.
In the arches themselves, the ruts on which wagons have been traveling for centuries are clearly visible.
The main, if not the main attraction of Turkish Antalya. It is present on various souvenirs and generally an iconic place, in particular, it is the gateway to (from) the oldest urban area of Kaleichi. I was interested in the steam track for ancient carts, as if pressed into the soft clay under the gate, and then...frozen into stone. Stay close - pay attention. Often the city authorities close it with a special bridge.
An excellent monument with the remains of the fortress wall. It's just a pity that there are cafes on one side and an ordinary road and ordinary modern houses on the other. It was probably possible to make a complex of buildings of that time. And be careful, homeless people sleep on the benches from the front of the gate at night.
Beautiful gate.
I was particularly impressed by the track packed with wagons in the stone pavement under the gate.
If you search in g-maps, keep in mind that enemy maps lead to the wrong area, thanks to them we walked behind the Mark Center, behind the cemetery and another one and a half km straight ...
The gates are in the old town and nowhere else)))
