It's an amazing place. Now the second floor is completely reserved for tourists. The first floor is a mosque. The streams of worshippers and tourists are separated by different entrance groups, which is very convenient. Audio guides on the Byzantine and Ottoman periods are available by QR code, including in Russian. I definitely recommend it.
I highly recommend it. Now the 2nd floor has been opened with beautiful and ancient frescoes, which you definitely need to see! A special atmosphere and the opportunity to touch very distant centuries
The place is comparable in importance to the Roman Colosseum. Since 2024, access is not everywhere, which is a shame. You won't be able to touch the doors from Noah's Ark.
The most magnificent temple, which is more than 1,500 years old. During this time, the temple was looted by the Ottoman Empire and the Crusaders, but it still delights with its grandeur and beauty, just imagine how it looked before the looting!!! Be sure to read its history, there is little that can compare with the scale of construction now. By the way, all Turkish mosques are built in the likeness of St. Sophia Cathedral (that's how much the temple impressed the Ottomans). It was also this temple that became the beginning of the baptism of Russia.
It looks beautiful, but the most important thing is its history, including those related to the Russian Empire and our state. You can take a tour of the mosque, but everywhere they write that it's free, but in fact it's not, and the cost is kind of wild in my opinion.
I was here in November 2023. A wonderful place! You can see the place where the ancient soldiers stood (footprints are hollowed out (in the course )) The only drawback is that the carpet smells very unpleasant with international feet (I advise you to take shoe covers). But the place is very beautiful! It's a pity that the Ottomans covered everything with plaster.(
It is a very iconic place, everything is steeped in history, and the frescoes that were under the plaster are perfectly preserved. The faces of the saints are as alive
It was the first facility in Istanbul.
Of course it's impressive. But it would be even cooler if you could feel it all from the first floor.... But they don't let you in there.
Christian images are covered up.
Well, the price for foreigners for admission (25 euros) is also touching....
Admission is free, around the clock, you need handkerchiefs inside, they sell disposable ones for 30 rubles. You can't wear shorts, women come in trousers
A monumental structure. We were in 2022 with an individual tour. Fascinating views and frescoes. It is a pity that it has not been restored for a long time
One of the world's most famous places in Istanbul and Turkey. There is a fully manicured area around. Further along the streets you can arrange a good promenade.
Everything is fine, only the expensive entrance is better with your own handkerchief, although they sell disposable ones at the entrance. I was pleased with the Wi-Fi and free audio guide in all languages, take a phone with headphones with you
By making Sofia a mosque, Erdogan made a big mistake. Many prophecies say that very soon this Temple will be Orthodox again. Well, let's see.
The size of this great Temple is amazing. Slimness, the air inside. An incredible place. Sofia is not a mosque in spirit, and never will be) whatever the Turks depict in it.
They gave 50 euros per person, stood in line, were allowed only to the upper tier (the rest is only for Muslims), saw an almost complete loss of what was once there and that's it

Beauty. There are not many words to choose, you need to look with your own eyes.
Of the cons:
1. You will see ONLY the 2nd floor. Be prepared for this. The ground floor is not accessible to ordinary visitors (only for Muslims, as I was told).
2. Stairs at the entrance and exit to the 2nd floor, made of marble slabs, were sealed with poor wooden decking. Now this beauty is inaccessible to the eyes.
3. The SADDEST THING!!!! When visiting the temple, be prepared for the nervous cries of the guards: "Don't touch!!!!" in completely open areas for visitors. They run and scream. You cannot touch a column or a wall with your finger. Then why, dear ones, do you conduct these excursions and charge 25€???? Either shut down or slow down. That's what I said to the guard: "Shall we go to the cash register for a refund??" He didn't want to and I didn't hear him anymore.
I recommend.
An amazingly beautiful place of incredible energy. Yes, there are long queues, there are a lot of people inside, but it's worth it. Do you understand why the ambassadors of Vladimir the Great decided to be Orthodox
The mosque is very valuable for everyone, I read the prayer, I advise everyone who will have the opportunity to visit, you will not regret it, I advise everyone who came to Istanbul
The ambivalent impression of the building. A large and ancient TEMPLE. For all Orthodox, this is a TEMPLE. And let the frescoes be hung and prayer is sung, but this is a GREAT TEMPLE.
Hagia Sophia was made paid and it definitely did her good. Now you can see the masterpieces of Byzantine iconography of the X-XIII centuries without a crowd.
delight... so many emotions from what I saw... Although much is hidden
, in order to understand the beauty of St. Sophia, you need to know at least a little about its history
The mosque itself is very beautiful and has a rich history, BUT has the entrance to this mosque been paid for! And the price per person is 25 euros! This is blasphemy, firstly, and secondly, it was possible to put at least a lower price if they decided to make money on tourists
I had to stand in line for tickets for forty minutes, but it was worth it. The former temple and now the mosque is full of history and secrets. When you look at this magnificent building, it is impossible to understand how such buildings were built many centuries ago.
It is beautiful and monumental, the centuries-old history is felt.

It is good that it has been converted back into a mosque. We must pay tribute to Erdogan, he did his best. The mosque itself is large-scale. It's roomy, but it's bad that they close it after prayer at night. We didn't get inside last time, we were too late. But this is a mosque after all. Although, on the other hand, if you want to perform prayer, there is another mosque 10 steps away. So, no one is deprived.
A former Byzantine Orthodox church, with old frescoes left in some places! It is very exciting to touch such ancient walls! Special beauty and atmosphere!
Sofia, of course, is impressive. A monumental structure. The audio guide does not work well - local wi-fi is only available at the entrance, and the mobile signal passes through thick walls
As of January 2024, the entrance for tourists is only on the 2nd floor, the ticket price is 600 liras. Downstairs, the entrance to the mosque is for Muslims only. Beautiful, large-scale, expensive. You need to look at it once
Hagia Sophia Mosque. One of the largest in Istanbul. Since 23, the entrance has become free. The world-famous monument of Byzantine architecture, Inside you need to take off your shoes, leave them in a cell. Very impressive and breathtaking being in it. You can take a booklet in Russian.
