I have not been directly to the stadium itself, but the place is certainly significant. The 1954 Olympic Games were held here (by the way, they are still legally ongoing, since at the closing ceremony the President of Finland did not utter the phrase "I declare the Games closed"). The stadium's tower is as high as the length of Matti Jarvinen's javelin flight at the Los Angeles Olympics, when he became champion. There is a statue of the great Paavo Nurmi in the park, which was erected to him during his lifetime. And Lasse Viren is also marked by sculpture. Be sure to visit.
