A place that is worth visiting only "for show". If you are not a connoisseur of Chagall's work, then you can safely skip this attraction, especially if you are traveling with children

An interesting museum about the life of Marc Chagall in Vitebsk, the exhibition is small, mainly showing the life of the time when the artist lived. An interesting tour, but
A very, very small, but atmospheric house museum. 10 minutes is enough for a cursory review. However, museologists were able to arrange a wonderful museum of the life of wealthy Jews, which were the Chagalles, on this small square. It is also important to understand that the original objects that Marc Chagall himself "touched" are not here.
The house where he lived, of course. The guide will tell you well about life. But no copies of his paintings are shown. Maybe there aren't many of them, or that he's Jewish. Or maybe he just took the pseudonym Mark and got the consonant phrase Marc Chagall. Sounds. Movsha Khatskelevich (later Moses Khatskelevich and Mark Zakharovich) Chagall
The exhibition presents copies of Chagall's drawings, authentic household items of that era, photographs of the artist's relatives and friends. A quiet wonderful atmosphere, but...I didn't have enough text accompaniment to the exhibits. To understand, you probably need to take a guided tour
If you come to Vitebsk, you need to visit it. If you're lucky, it's better to have a guide.

an unexpectedly beautiful museum. be sure to take a guided tour. Polina became our guide (unfortunately I don't remember the last name) and literally immersed us in the world of Marc Chagall.
A poorly organized remodel with photocopies of Chagall's work. Imagine, 3 tour buses are approaching. A queue is formed on the street to go through 3 rooms, which actually make up the entire museum. Further, people came from far away, of course, a toilet is needed. We found two plastic dirty cubicles in the corner of the kindergarten (without toilet paper). The demand for them is greater than for a museum.
This is a tiny house, where a crowd of tourists is packed to overflowing. You can't really see anything, because the guides are making a lot of noise, the crowds are pressing and you want to run away from there as soon as possible. There are no paintings there, it's just the house where the artist lived.
I love Chagall very much, visiting the museum was a step towards the artist. The Jewish house, the setting conveys the atmosphere of the time and the family in which Marc Chagall grew up and was formed. A large number of sketches by the artist helps to recreate the atmosphere. Very competent guides. I recommend visiting with children
A cozy little museum. It's good to go on a guided tour, talk about history, family life, etc.

Everything is fine, except for the ticket seller, he meets with the words there is nothing to see here in the city except this museum.
An unusual reception
In Vitebsk, there is also the Chagall house, where he was born and where his family lived, and the Chagall Museum, where you can see his prints and get acquainted with the milestones of his work. My parents' house is absolutely amazing. Even the street in front of the house is paved with cobblestones, which adds authenticity to the entire space. The exposition in the house itself is as close as possible to the everyday life of that time. It's very cool. Thank you.
It is necessary !!
to take a guided tour!!
I am glad that it is conducted by a young pretty girl who tells you a lot of interesting things about Chagall, his life, family, etc.
Start exploring Vitebsk from this place. Not to say that it is a great exposition, but it allows you to catch the flavor of the city and touch the Chagall roots a little bit. Be sure to ask the staff for a guided tour. It will take 15-20 minutes, is not very expensive and fully justifies itself. I liked. Then you can walk around Vitebsk starting from the train station.
A very cozy house museum.
They tell a beautiful story about Chagall.
Very beautiful. The route and comparison of paintings with the interior and his family have been worked out. The curtains. Details. A beautiful garden with an apple tree 💖
I recommend a visit. It is very interesting, a half-hour tour, they talk clearly and concisely about the artist. You can touch the things that belonged to the Marc Chagall family and look in the mirror.
This is the pride of our city, but it is a pity that booklets from the artist's work are almost not found in bookstores. It is very interesting to visit the museum, a wonderful excursion, only the residents of our city rarely come here and ask where the museum is, few people will tell you where to find it. There is no advertising for the museum , but it's a pity that we don 't know a lot about our city
We have a little idea of how Jewish families lived.
We also found out how many synagogues there were in Vitebsk

The first floor has an exhibition of paintings with woodcuts and lithographs. There are armchairs in front of the TV in the center of the room, where they show a video film from the artist's life story. There are very few paintings (about 29 pieces), but if you want to see, then of course you need to go.
Marc Chagall House Museum. Unfortunately, the guide Victoria uses a lot of parasite words in her speech. We hardly listened to this narration. A group of 25 people could not fit in the small rooms of the house. The story is more about Chagall's family, traditions and life, not much has been said about his work. There is a small souvenir shop next to the museum. Payment is possible by card.

A cozy historical place. We sat in the park near the museum house, listened to a wonderful girl guide with an unusual name VOLGA, made a wish.
It's a cool museum. Firstly, the setting (he grew up in a similar house, but a little simpler), and secondly, Chagall is Chagall. Genius. Not everyone can fly with a girl over Vitebsk)
Very friendly people work here, the guide is a sweet and lovely girl! Her comments can be attributed to a very interesting story: she knows the material perfectly, wonderful diction is a delight! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! I want to come back to you! 🌹
A complete disappointment. We drove to the museum by taxi for 15 minutes, we were in the museum for 10 minutes. The only thing that calms us is that Marc Chagall really lived in this house
A wonderful museum embodying its era and the life of a great artist. It will be a wonderful addition to the impressions of the beautiful city of Vitebsk, which will finally allow your imagination to lift you into the sky to fly over the roofs of houses and the Western Dvina
