I was expecting to see something more interesting. I don't know if it's possible to book a tour and listen to something interesting. But I saw only printed photos and a few old interior items there.
This house once belonged to Marc Chagall's father, in fact, the artist was born in it, and spent his childhood and youth. Now the whole world knows the name of Marc Chagall. The museum has a number of authentic works of the celebrity. And yes, the city is Vitebsk, which Chagall glorified, including literally. Click on the picture and the Chagall house will appear, and in this one there is an Art center of the same name.
If you are in Vitebsk, you must visit a world-famous artist - this is how to honor the memory. You won't find out anything particularly interesting. For show ☝️
Friends from the Brest region came to us and we decided to show them this museum, took an excursion with an instructor, remained under a very pleasant impression, I recommend it!!!
I give the zoo 5 stars. I came across in Vitebsk quite by accident, the area did not assume such establishments, I decided that I would stop by on the way back, but I did not have time...
An interesting place, but without a tour and knowledge of the context, some exhibits are incomprehensible. It is better to go there prepared or watch with a guide.

Like it. It is necessary to visit the museum with a guide.
A very modest museum in the house where Marc Chagall lived. But for an initial acquaintance with the biography of Chagall, the life of his family, there are enough exhibits. The guides, it is felt, really love the person they are talking about, they love their city, who loved Chagall, whom they constantly thought about, missed being outside for many years.
This place is a must-visit while in Vitebsk.
It is very cozy and beautiful. An excellent guide (you definitely need to take a tour, otherwise you won't understand anything).
Take small money with you, there may not be a change.
We were passing through Vitebsk in June, the Chagall Museum was a mandatory part of the program. Wonderful! The small house accurately conveys the atmosphere peculiar to the childhood and youth of Mark Zakharovich. The staff and especially the director of the museum are people who are in love with their work! Thanks for the Cornflowers!
Davoli is still interesting, for those who buy back for painting in particular)))
Although passers-by from the category of "just to see" will also come in to raise the cultural level.
It is worth visiting for general development and understanding where the famous Jewish artist was born and grew up. In general, Belarus (now Belarus, especially for Belarusians) was a territory where a lot of Jews lived. They formed their contribution to the development of the places where they lived. Therefore, for a general understanding of how it looked, it is worth visiting this museum. And also, if possible, go to the city of Glubokoe "cherry - condensed milk capital" (we really liked it there). More than half of the inhabitants are Jews, at least before the war. A separate topic is the genocide of Jews on the territory of Belarus during the war. Terrible stories were happening back then. Although Belarusians and Russians got no less. Eternal Memory to them! As for Chagall, he was in demand and ended his life in the United States after living to be 100 years old (+/-). The visit to the museum was etched into my memory. They made an indelible impression: the Chagall's mother doll and the examination work of the 2nd grade Movsha Chagall. Compare your handwriting and his, evaluate the diligence and level of training at that time.
The exposition, in my opinion, is a little weak. It is mandatory to visit, only if you are a devoted fan of Chagall. Otherwise, you may be disappointed. That's what happened to my companions
