A great place, including for those with children! The city center is almost on Freedom Square. Ground floor, atmospheric photos in the interior. Georgian cuisine. Excellent khinkali, delicious Georgian salad with excellent delicious tomatoes, the whole tsimes is from them) A pleasant white wine in a jug, light and soft. Children are delighted with the chicken kebab, tender and juicy (it is also delicious for adults))) There is a huge portion of Greek salad, keep in mind) The grub is so-so (the meat is rubber, it does not chew, I would cook it for another couple of hours ... The price tag is humane. I recommend it!
A great place for a quick lunch. The food is high-quality and delicious. They cook fast enough. The price is average, even slightly below average. But disadvantages follow from the advantages - a simple interior, terrible cold light, no comfort, service flaws - there is a lot of traffic, there is not enough attention for everyone. Definitely not worth coming here for a romantic dinner)))
The iconic khinkalnaya in the center of Tbilisi.
As we already know, if there is a queue at a restaurant, it means that there is a unique combination of price and quality.
Meet (if you haven't been here yet)
"Khinkalnaya Velyaminov", located in the very center, on Freedom Square. Georgian cuisine is very tasty here, and the check is 30 percent lower than in other popular establishments in the area.
The service is excellent.
This is a place where you can eat very, very tasty Georgian food, and pay for it a third less than in other good authentic restaurants.
Here are the most delicious khinkali of all that we have tasted in Tbilisi.
Our order for three:
- 20 hinkals (large and juicy)
- eggplant rolls
- a large salad of fresh vegetables
- chacha 250 gr.
We ate too much and everything was insanely delicious.
It came out for 630 lari (2,300 rubles).
Russian Russian is a friendly atmosphere, the staff speaks Russian well (for Russian speakers, a special two-sided menu is completely in Russian). The prices are reasonable, they give you large portions for them, so don't order too much. Khinkali - from 10 pieces, but it is possible to take with you what you have not finished.
The receipt does not include service, but it is indicated at the bottom of the menu that this is 10% of the receipt.
Very tasty Imeretian khachapuri, try it!
These guys are the best! We went here three times during the trip and it was always incredibly delicious. Real Georgian cuisine, fast service, waiter girls help with the choice. Trout stuffed with suluguni, delight! I've never seen one like it anywhere. Khinkali are standard, the minimum portion is 10 pieces, for two it's best to take a salad of cucumbers, tomatoes with nuts. The veal was also on top. In general, an authentic, simple place in terms of interior, for those who want classic Georgian cuisine!
Great cuisine, great atmosphere!
I have visited this place more than once with friends and family. The restaurant is modest and inconspicuous, but I advise guests of Georgia to definitely visit it! You won't regret it for sure.
But there is one very unpleasant moment: at the end of July 2024, the owners banned the use of a Russian-language menu in the restaurant. It 's a shame 🫤
We found an institution based on reviews on the Internet, pleasant staff, delicious food. The design of the place looks like an innkeeper, not a restaurant, the menu is in a file, but the cuisine is delicious. The staff speaks Russian, good service, we didn't wait for food for a long time. We ordered trout stuffed with suluguni and walnuts, and brought a whole fish generously stuffed. It is very tasty and unusual. We took a veal kebab, tender, not fatty meat. And pork ojahuri, the pork was fat. But as I understand it, all pork dishes in Georgia are fatty. Plus lemonade and beer to order. It cost all 64 lari. They were found, because the portions were good.
It's a wonderful place.
And the price is acceptable. They cook quickly and tasty, as they say from under the knife. We tried almost all the menus. It was advised by local residents when they walked near the Mother Georgia monument. They asked where to eat, but to be tasty and inexpensive. The grandmother, who sells flowers, said that for 30-49 GEL you will eat up to the mouthful there.
Thank her very much.
I recommend
This is the perfect and best home-made khinkal in the center of Tbilisi. We come here for lunch every trip.
1. Khinkali is delicious, fragrant, but the order is 20 pieces. I'm waiting for two.
2. Kebab and khachipuri in Adjarian at the highest level.
3. The salad is cool. It is coarsely cut, as is customary in Georgia. We definitely take it with nuts.
4. The staff is fast and friendly.
Minus, only waiting - there is often a full landing
It is a very warm and pleasant place, there is almost always a queue here, so it is better to book a table in advance. Delicious khinkali, kebab with suluguni and all the pastries, we go here regularly and recommend this place to friends
It is very tasty and atmospheric!
This is the best place! All tourist establishments with over-price and not real prices and very poor service simply do not stand next to each other. This place was found by chance, and now we visit it every time we are visiting Tbilisi.
Thank you for the warm welcome and delicious and varied dishes!
Based on the excellent rating, we chose this place to enjoy Georgian cuisine. Everything was cooked very quickly. When we saw what was brought to us, we were delighted with how appetizing everything looked. I wanted to try it as soon as possible, we were anticipating the taste of Georgian spices. But... unfortunately, of all that was on our table, only Natakhtari lemonade can be called delicious... We ordered ojahuri with chicken. The chicken was fat, the potatoes were fat. No trace of Georgian spices. It was very salty. We ordered "Georgian bread" from the menu, which turned out to be yesterday's hard pita bread. The pork kebab turned out to be ordinary meat fried in a frying pan. The smell was disgusting, the meat was not chewed. In general, if you want to try real Georgian cuisine, then you definitely are not here. There was only lemonade from Georgian.
Very tasty khinkali, and portions can simply be fed to 2-3 people
We took wine, 10 khinkali, Greek salad - everything cost 37 lari. Fire!
The food is varied, there are fish and meat, pizza, French fries, desserts. So the children have something to feed!
Excellent restaurant serving local cuisine. The price tag is lower than in other restaurants. Khinkali is super, the salad was a little dry for me. But everything is on top. Chacha bomb;)))
Thanks to the cook and the waiters.... I recommend it to everyone... 10 points
They advised tourists in the chat
The food is off your head! If you don't want to show off for tourists - but real Georgian food, and Caucasian huge portions - you are here!
Incredibly delicious!
The portions are super!
Entourage is a Georgian tavern! I recommend it!
A chic place where it is inexpensive and very tasty. Their Khinkali scores are one hundred percent! I recommend a must-visit) plus in the very center of the city
A very local, authentic Georgian place. Delicious food. I didn't like the kebab very much, a lot of fat, and the rest of the dishes are amazing: red wine, eggplant with garlic, khinkali is super. The service is very pleasant! The women are very good, they work there and smile at everyone, the friendliness is maximum. The prices are absolutely adequate for the amount of food we ordered. I recommend it!
Very tasty khinkali, large portions of salad, we took one salad and 10 khinkali for two, we came here for lunch every day while we were in Tbilisi. I highly recommend it, it is delicious, budget-friendly and colorful in Georgian. Wash down the natakhtari with feijoa flavor.
It's a great place, but it's better to book a table in advance. We were lucky, we were hooked up with a single girl, and as a result, the evening was also brightened up by a wonderful company. The food is delicious, the portions are large. One khachapuri, 10 khinkali and a decanter of compote were enough for two of us. The prices are quite reasonable. The rating of the institution, in my opinion, is justified.
Delicious, inexpensive. A lot of locals. I came on the advice of the landlord, with whom I stayed in Tbilisi. Not ideal, but quite acceptable for lunch.
Everything is delicious. The locals eat here too. There are often queues at the entrance. Khinkali is awesome! The wine is delicious homemade. The food is delicious. Portions for two.
A check for 4 people. The prices correspond to the location, it is the center and the old town.
Our heart was stolen 💔 At first glance, it may seem that the place does not deserve attention: a basement room and an austere interior that is not "instagrammed". Don't get fooled by this! All the days spent in Tbilisi, we had dinner at this place. In particular, we were here during the May "events". There are a lot of locals and tourists, the atmosphere is very friendly. The menu is literally on one A4 sheet, but it is enough to immerse yourself and fall in love with the Georgian colorful cuisine. The prices, by the way, are very affordable. I would also like to mention the amazing staff: all the beauties are charismatic and very hospitable!
A great place to have a delicious and inexpensive meal, try Georgian cuisine. The portions are large 🥘 There is local wine and excellent quality chacha 👍🏻. Tkemali, adjika, khinkali are simply delicious!Friendly Russian-speaking waiters. The menu, by the way, is also in Russian.
It's a great place, we recommend it to everyone. We have been there three times in a week, we ordered different dishes all the time and they are all very tasty. The portions are large, so be careful with the order, otherwise you will feed chicken and khachapuri then cats and dogs in the city, as we did after the first visit.
A great place, not only tourists eat here, but also locals! A democratic cafe in the very center, everything is clean, attentive and fast service. The menu is varied, the food is very tasty!!! I was here in 2015 and in 2023 - I was satisfied both times. Khinkali are canonical, they sell from 10 pieces. The salad with nuts is perfect and the portion is large, and costs about 10 lari. It took about 15 minutes from the order to the delivery, and this is with a full landing at lunchtime. I think it's one of the best cafes where we ate.
We liked it!
We took a salad of vegetables with nuts (I advise)
Lala was also impressed
Khinkali, as in many places, was delicious!
Delicious beer.
We were lucky twice, we got in without waiting in line. Basically, there is always a queue, but tables are quickly freed up. Pleasant service.
Clean restrooms.
Very tasty and not expensive. One dish is enough to eat, two are already difficult to master. The portions are decent. One liter of dry white wine costs only 9 lari. The two of us had a hearty lunch and drank a liter of wine. It cost only 45 lari. The food, I repeat, is very tasty. The furniture is original. I really liked it. We will definitely visit this cafe on occasion.
Honestly, I fell for 5 stars on Yandex, but this is the worst place out of 7 visited khinkals and restaurants in Tbilisi, with the worst khinkals. These hinkals have the smallest amount of meat than anywhere else.
The salad is completely dry and looks, to put it mildly, not presentable, as if it was spat back out.
An eggplant snack, completely dry - well, very bad.
Do not repeat my mistakes, there are many good establishments in Tbilisi and this is neither it, nor wasting time, money and your mood.
The place is often sold out: a queue of people on the street, sweating waiters. For me, going to a restaurant/cafe means sitting slowly, drinking wine, eating, talking, drinking coffee. Unfortunately, it's hard to do this here because you can see firsthand the queue of people and how the waiters are running around the hall hurriedly delivering orders. The food is decent, the portions are generous. A huge number of 5-star reviews has led to everyone coming here and this has a very strong effect on the atmosphere
A gorgeous place; atmospheric; fast serving; khinkali at a height (a portion of 10 pieces), and fried suluguni mmmmm, the portions are large and this is a separate plus
I recommend it from the bottom of my heart
We ate here almost every day. There are always a lot of locals here in the evening, which is the main indicator of quality for me))) It is famous for its hinkals. But we tried almost all the menus))(Keep in mind that some dishes are sooooo spicy, and some are sooooo big)(Check with the waiters)) I recommend khinkali, kharcho and salads)))
We came here with our family to eat khinkali according to recommendations from the Internet
There was a terrible smell of bleach and something not particularly edible from the doorway.
Perhaps it was we who "got" at the wrong time ... and on another day / hour everything is OK in terms of smells, but my appetite strayed 100% right from the threshold. I wanted to leave this institution immediately, but my family asked me to give them a "chance" because the reviews on the Internet were very good.
As a result, we took a Georgian salad (tomatoes were not edible, Kakheti oil was not felt at all) and khinkali from beef (the dough was not bad, there was little filling).
There is no interior, it looks like a standard eatery, the service is terrible (plates are not put on, but thrown on the table)…
I will not come to this institution anymore.
Khinkali was very tasty in Tsiskvili - the service there is excellent and clean and delicious.
Therefore, whoever chooses a place to "eat khinkali" - I recommend another place.
When our friend brought us to this place, we were amazed by its interior. It was simple and even somewhat rude, the service was at a low level, there were a lot of visitors, and all this in general gave the impression of a diner.
However, I must admit, I have not tasted anywhere in Georgia more delicious khinkali and eggplant with nuts during all ten days of our stay. And the price for all this... Almost for nothing!
The best salad of cucumbers and tomatoes with nuts!!! Honestly!!! And khinkali. In general, it is a very authentic and not pretentious place, but very tasty. And you need to go to Georgia not for pathos, but for the atmosphere!!! That's what you need. I recommend it!!!
That's great! This is the place where, once you come, you will go all the time! Delicious cuisine, large portions, courteous staff, although you will have to stand in line for boarding if you come in the evening. But this is an indicator of the high class of chefs. We will definitely come again.
An amazing place, the choice of dishes is quite large (the only one is khinkali only with beef and beef + pork), a large assortment of spirits. Very tasty and incredibly cheap for such a place
We found this cafe based on reviews, and it turned out to be really good. Prices are relatively inexpensive, and food is much cheaper than in the old town. Khinkali 1.5 lari, kebab 10, eggplant with walnuts 10, homemade wine 8 liters. Everything is very tasty and satisfying. It's always busy, so if you come to lunch or dinner, you'll have to wait until a table is available. You can sit down without waiting in line at 4-5 o'clock.
We often come here to have a democratic and atmospheric dinner. We tried a lot of the menu, mostly everything is delicious, the portions are good, except for kharcho :) The kharcho was small and sharp, not childish. There are always a lot of people, but there is no music.
It is a very atmospheric place, and the locals also eat. Delicious khinkali, but for some reason everyone did not look like himself, although they took all the same, but this did not affect the impression much. The prices are average. Khachapuri in Adjarian is super! I advise everyone)
To my great regret, I visited the restaurant and was upset by the Adjarian khachapuri, namely its quality - the cheese in them tasted like cottage cheese, and slightly seasoned with a more delicious variety of cheese. (score 3 (three) with a huge minus)
Quite edible khinkali kalakuri, but very thick dough (tvedaya-score 3 (three).
Only the shish kebab turned out to be delicious, a solid score of 5 (five). When it's delicious, then it's delicious.
The best place in Tbilisi!!! These dishes are especially delicious: khinkali, imeruli, ostri, chicken kebab! It's also a minute away from Freedom Square. And the best prices in the center 💯🔥
We were in Tbilisi for a week and went to this restaurant every day either for lunch or dinner. Polite Russian-speaking staff. Fast and delicious cooking. I advise everyone!
It is delicious, comfortable to sit with the company and just go in to eat is not expensive. Russian Russian speaking staff is friendly, and there is a menu in Russian. I recommend.
We came on a recommendation. There is a live queue for entry and seats as the flow of people is large, and there are only two halls. But the queue is moving fast. There were two couples in front of us. We waited for the table for 10 minutes. Prices, as everywhere else... are not raised. The portions are large. There is no % to the menu! Natakhtari light draft beer is poured.
One of the most delicious and inexpensive places in the center of Tbilisi!!!
We rolled out balls from there)))
We visit this place locally - it says a lot...
The interior is not instagrammatical, but at the same time cozy and comfortable. The service is good, friendly (plates were changed 3 times in the evening). A table for dinner was booked a couple of hours in advance. I liked the cuisine and gave gastronomical pleasure, as well as homemade wine. I definitely recommend you to visit. On my next visit, I will definitely repeat the dinner at this place.
