I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. The room was far from what was advertised—dirty carpets, stained sheets, and an unpleasant smell that lingered throughout our stay. The bathroom was in terrible condition, with mold in the corners and a leaking faucet.
To make matters worse, the staff was unhelpful and borderline rude when we brought up our concerns. The breakfast was another letdown, with stale pastries and cold coffee. For the price we paid, I expected much better service and accommodations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely not be returning.
Place
We chose this hotel because of its central location and the view of the Bosphorus. The location is really good, the only thing is that if you want to walk and go somewhere to tourist places, you have to go right out of the hotel. To the left - stink and garbage.
Rooms
The hotel has 5 stars in the booking. Don't believe it, it's an honest 3+.
Small rooms with an area of 25 meters, non-lockable bathroom. In one of the rooms, a stench was coming from the drain in the shower. There was no shower gel in the shower, it was a sad evening discovery. The morning request to bring shower gel was met with an exclamation of "OK", but it was fulfilled after an additional reminder.
The bed is of medium severity, by default cotton pillows and the same blanket. A special "fu" deserves the sheets, whose size turned out to be insufficient to tuck under the mattress. That is, if you spin around at night, there is a chance to wake up on a mattress pad, but since its size is much smaller than a sheet, then on a bare mattress. The ghost of comfort on the bedside table is a mini questionnaire, according to which you can choose another (including down) blanket and pillows. But as it turned out, this questionnaire is exclusively for beauty. Houskeeping was not interested in the completed form. It is sad that this turned out in the evening after houskeeping "went home." Another of the disadvantages is that for some reason all the towels were damp. And not to say that Istanbul is super humid)). Riddle.
There is a tram running under the windows of the hotel. He begins to walk with the characteristic tinkling of the clock at 5 a.m., quite often - just when you have time to re-immerse yourself in sleep.
In principle, the price of this hotel corresponds to the quality, that is, it is not necessary to expect something steeper for ~ 130 euros per day. You can stay for 1, maximum 2 nights, considering that you only come to the hotel to sleep. I do not recommend it for a longer period. I'm definitely not coming back myself.
Breakfast
The coolest thing at breakfast is the view of the Bosphorus. That's it.
Breakfast is served until 10:30 with the immediate cessation of food. The son came at 10:30 and a tray with ready-made scrambled eggs was taken away in front of his nose. The request to stay for a second was answered by the "service closet". The tray was placed on another table, where it continued to stand until we left breakfast.
The staff does not speak English at all. They asked for a fork 3 times. Staff smiled, nodded and walked away, not realizing that you can ask a colleague to help if you don't understand.
It's not tasty and it's very hot.
By the way. When booking, it was written that breakfast costs 7 euros. In fact - 17 euros. A trifle, but a fact.
The contingent
Russians were not met at all, either locals or Arabs.
Around the hotel
Next to the hotel (5 minutes on foot) there is a large Galataport, where there are many cafes, restaurants, shops with a pier for large cruise liners. A clean, cozy space. I highly recommend it for an evening walk and dinner. Or lunch.
If you go through the port, you can find a pedestrian street with lots of cafes and restaurants. There are also good hotels there.
The service is terrible. They ruined the birthday. They didn't let the makeup artist into the room, but there was supposed to be a photo shoot on his birthday. At the reception, they demanded $ 50 for the makeup artist to come into the room. Terrible attitude towards the guests.
The hotel is already a bit "stale".
Towels and bed linen are shabby.
The breakfasts were terrible: very meager, if you came later, then the choice was even more reduced, plus their equipment was not working, so all the dishes were cold. The administration tried to do something, but it didn't help.
On the plus side: stunning views of the Bosphorus
A view of a beautifully located hotel. All the sights of Istiklal Street are within walking distance. The breakfasts were pumped up, but this is not critical. Sitting on the balcony, you can feel the flowing beat of the city's life
We checked into the hotel in January, the expectations do not correspond to reality. When booking, they asked for a room with a beautiful view - as a result, they were given a view of the construction site. The reception said that this was not written anywhere, although we sent a request and wrote it. The cleaning was very bad, I don't mind leaving a tip, but it would be for something. At breakfast in the restaurant, the waiters constantly ignored our requests to bring tea or coffee. As soon as we agreed to move us with the receptionist at the reception, he promised us that 100% we would be given another room the next day. We arrived, there was already another administrator there - they refused us. They constantly forgot to bring water, glasses and spoons, they had to call several times to ask for it, otherwise no one brought it from the first call, they reminded. In general, there were no 5 stars with such a service
Deluxe room with a view of the hotel wall from one window, with a view of the construction site from the other. They refused to relocate even for money.
