One of my favorite spots in Tbilisi. Unfortunately the monument is in decay and the area feels abandoned (as the former museum of archaeology nearby), but the aura and the atmosphere of the place is calm and profound. It's interesting how a city can forget its heroes, they once built this monument and apparently it has become unfashionable. They must have found some new gods here in Tbilisi. Will they be better than the old ones?

The monument of Saint Nino is located next to the archaeological museum.
Saint Nino is widely revered in Georgian society, and the adoption of Christianity in Georgia is connected with her. It is believed that she came to Georgia from Cappadocia to convert all Georgians, who were idolaters at that time, to the teachings of Christ.
