The gorgeous nature in this park is supported by kind, responsive and loving people! I had a great time from 10 to 18 and didn't even want to leave! By the way, you could have stayed - there is a restaurant and a hotel here.
The reserve itself is huge and its biodiversity is amazing. Both flora and fauna have been living in harmony on its territory for many hundreds of years in a row.
I highly recommend any tourist to visit this place!
The oldest forest area in Europe, or scientifically, the largest remnant of a relict primitive lowland forest that grew in prehistoric times on the territory of Europe. Gradually, with the development of European civilization, the entire relict forest was cut down and an almost untouched natural area remained only here, on the border between present-day Belarus and Poland.
Belovezhskaya Pushcha has been considered a protected place since ancient times (it was mentioned in the Ipatiev Chronicle of 983) and for most of its modern history it was used as a royal hunting ground, which, of course, left its negative mark on the local fauna. The active exploitation of forest lands ended only at the beginning of the 20th century, when the reserve was finally recognized as a nature reserve and any economic activity was prohibited.
From a scientific point of view, the Forest is a unique and largest array of ancient forests typical of the plains of Central Europe — there are 600-year-old oaks, 250-year-old fir trees, the largest population of bison (a symbol of Belarus) and an infinite number of other unique representatives of flora and fauna included in the Red Book, but less well-known and interesting a wide range of viewers.
About 5% of the reserve's total territory is now open to tourists. The main entertainment here is a walk along cycling and hiking trails (total length about 30 km) with exploring the surroundings and information boards, as well as aviaries with representatives of the local fauna. Additionally, there are hotels, cafes and restaurants on the territory of the reserve, of course, numerous excursions are conducted.
bicycles can be rented either from ticket offices (but then they will be the simplest urban ones with small wheels), or you can pre-select one of the private traders, who are usually located near the main entrance to the Forest, they are easy to find on the Internet. Then all possible means of transportation become available to you, up to powerful electric bicycles, tandems and electric scooters!
The route itself is easy, it is a straight paved path with a slight slope, and the protected forest is perceived simply as a nice, beautiful, lively park. Nevertheless, for the best immersion, it is necessary to include in the walk some objects located away from the main path - maybe a forest lake, or a patriarch oak, or the estate of the Belarusian Santa Claus.
Belovezhskaya Pushcha itself is beautiful. Nature, animals are all lovely!!! But they were not thrilled with the residence of Santa Claus. The program is weak, very fast, we didn't really play with the children, everything is superficial. The children really wanted to get an audience with Santa Claus and read poetry. We bought tickets, stood in line, and eventually turned in our tickets because we had to catch the bus. For the convenience of people, you would have already dressed up several of those Santa Claus trees and put them in different houses and distributed the flow of people. Five minutes is enough for one child. Everyone would be happy. We need more contests with children, quizzes, it was just not interesting for children to walk behind snowflakes. And then Santa Claus just appeared at the Christmas tree, and the children thought that they would rescue him, set him free. As a result, there is one round dance at the Christmas tree, a shared photo and that's it.
The location is good, you can rent bicycles and choose different routes, but you need to pay for the locations separately. We just took a bike ride along the Forest Secrets route (16km), then we realized that we could also take a Big trip (27km) with a visit to Santa Claus. You can also buy a ticket to the estate on the spot, but they charged us the full price, as with the bus tour from the beginning of the route. Two adults and an 11-year-old child - 80 br. - it's expensive and not particularly impressive. In the end, we stopped at the Valliers (32 more br): the variety of animals is not great, it will be more interesting in the zoo. Therefore, only 3 are available.
The trip was thought out in advance and timed so as not to get into the festivities, because experience shows that any more or less well-known place will be packed to the point of impossibility. Therefore, today, after the departure of the tour groups, there is silence, empty tables, nice people, peace and an incredible atmosphere!
I really enjoyed the sightseeing tour, and it was interesting and not tedious.
After the tour, we had a wonderful and satisfying snack at the Forest Fairy Tale.
The hotel staff is ready to help with everything: our belongings were taken into storage before checking into the room. So we walked light.
The room itself is also very clean and cozy. We didn't regret staying the night in the protected forest at all: in the evening at dusk we walked along the aviaries and listened to the nightlife of the animals. The desperate fight of the deer in the aviary was especially interesting 😁
In general, it took us a very long time to get to the cherished forest from Kazan, and what we saw exceeded all expectations! A magical protected forest, which must be visited. The main thing is to choose unloaded or off-season days.
November 2024. Above all:
- Entrance and all paths in Belovezhskaya Pushcha are free, you can walk as much as you want
- You can come yourself, without excursions, etc. We took tickets to the Forest at the ticket office at the Brest bus station, driving 1.5 hours in one direction. You can also buy a bus ticket from the driver.
- What is paid: aviaries and a nature museum. I recommend aviaries, but not a museum.
- Everything can be paid by card
- At 10 a.m. and out of season, there are no people at all, you can enjoy the beauty alone.
- There is free wi-fi at the entrance and in the museum
The nature is amazing and we even saw local grazing deer in the distance. In autumn, everything is golden, the leaves are covered with frost, you walk and rustle the leaves under your feet. The air is clean.
Minus a star for the fact that we did not understand how we got lost on the light green path, as a result, we almost went into the forest, but we were lucky that we came out on the Royal Highway. The woman at the ticket counter at the aviaries confused us, as if we needed to buy tickets to go along the Dokudovo route, but this is not true.
In any case, it is better to buy a ticket to the aviaries there and, after looking at the animals, go to the route. The animals are quite tame, begging for food, they have wide enclosures and this does not create the impression of a zoo. Deer are jumping merrily, wolves are playing.
The museum simply exhibits stuffed animals in the scenery and sounds of the forest. After seeing both animals and the beauty of the forest in person, it's like this. I wouldn't have gone there if I'd known what was going to happen there.
Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park. Now the entrance group has changed a lot, a cafe and a shop have appeared. It is very important for me to come to the Forest to breathe clean air and drink the forest tea of the Pushchansky!!! To feed the animals in valliers and not with crackers, which they sell, the animals do not eat them. And this trip is called a reboot!!!!
We rested at the hotel, where rooms were booked back in the spring. Everything is comfortable. Admission to the aviaries, swimming pool and breakfast are included in the price. The food in the restaurant is poorly organized. To choose breakfast, a menu is provided, where three complexes are offered. And when ordering, it turns out that the selected option is missing. Why not inform in advance and why this is generally acceptable is a question. The breakfast did not cause delight: neither in taste nor in assortment. Next time, we will plan meals in a different place. And only the unique nature could brighten up the impression.
We went on a bus tour. We liked it. A couple of hours of nature stories with a visual demonstration. I got a good guide with a wealth of knowledge about the local nature. It was interesting to talk. I was impressed by the oak, which is more than six hundred years old. We arranged a photo shoot near him. We fed the animals on a micro-farm. We received as a present a sip of local strong moonshine with a snack (I do not remember the beautiful name of the drink). I almost didn't have to walk. After the bus tour, there is an opportunity to immediately stay to inspect the aviaries (paid separately) and go to a cafe.
In general, it turned out to be a very pleasant walk.
Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The place is famous. The place is significant. A UNESCO site. It didn't go in... I'm even ashamed of it. I'm wondering why it didn't go in. We were settled in the 4th building, me and the children, but in rooms on different floors... The rooms are a little old. The interiors are outdated. The toilet hood is humming like a factory. There is no normal shelf for a cosmetic bag. But thanks for the two types of pillows. One is thinner, the other is plumper. Because there are always thick pillows in the rooms, I don't like them, my neck breaks) We were brought in as a group. They fed me lunch, but I had to think about dinner myself. We managed to buy pancakes in the room at the cafe before 18 and that's it. Lunch is a bit poor for the group. The boiled potatoes and the salted barbecue didn't even have a drop of ketchup. The children would have been given a cookie for tea as a dessert. They were waiting... The fact is that the reception and the rest look pretentious and promising, but you get three. The pool saved me. The children were delighted. Guided tour of the Forest - reporting. Maybe I'm already sophisticated, but I was surprised only by the deer and roe deer, which could be seen in their natural environment from the bus and a 600-year-old oak tree. Moonshine distiller - it's not clear why it's on the territory of a nature reserve, but I bought a bottle. There is also an old-fashioned hut, but it is larger, three-roomed, with an inflated ceiling and full-length windows). A walk through the aviaries takes no more than an hour. Of course, there are beautiful bison, wild horses, wild boars, fallow deer and others. A walk through the aviaries and a bus ride through the reserve are different. For women, the info - water here is hard, take the appropriate creams and shampoos.
If you have breakfast in a restaurant, then this is not a buffet. Choose one breakfast from 2 options, and you will be served everything sequentially - porridge, water, juice, coffee, rolls... In general, lay 30 minutes.
BELOVEZHSKAYA Pushcha, Brest region
I'm absolutely thrilled! But first, some background information. Belovezhskaya Pushcha:
This is the largest remnant of the primeval forest on the territory of modern Belarus and Poland, which in prehistoric times grew on the territory of Europe.
🟢 In 1979 , it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
It was here that on December 8, 1991, the heads of government of the three Union republics (Belarus, Russia and Ukraine) signed the Belovezhskaya Accord. The Agreement stated the termination of the existence of the USSR and proclaimed the creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)
I was very hesitant about coming here. Scarecrow road, some reviews. Thanks to the owner of the apartment and the dispatcher of the transport company: they dispelled my doubts the night before.
How to get there? Preferably by car. To regulate the length of your stay yourself. If it hadn't been for the return bus, we would have taken another walk. Moreover, this day was the sunniest and warmest during our trip to Belarus.
We didn't take a car in Brest, we took a bus from the bus station. I bought tickets in advance here online: 7.8 BYN / person / one way (~215 rubles). Everyone has the same price, even for children 0+. I paid with a MIR card.
I've read reviews, they say someone drives 1.5 hours standing up. Not our option. In fact, the seats are occupied according to the tickets purchased. And if the sedentary ones have sold out, they buy on the driver's seat and stand all the way. But it happens in the summer. The bus runs for 1.5 hours with some stops. Arrives directly at the ticket offices of Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
The entrance group to the territory is modern and beautiful. Admission is free, but all activities there are paid, including the toilet :). Therefore, it is better to decide on the program right away.
We decided to take bicycles and ride to the residence of the Belarusian Santa Claus along the 27-kilometer-long "Big Trip" route. And this is a special great pleasure! Cycling through the forest with the whole family is my special zen, a feeling of complete happiness. Memories came flooding back. We traveled a lot with bicycles in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. Unforgettable bike paths of the Curonian Spit from Lithuania. At that time, Katyusha was also sitting in the children's bike seat. We ride in Imeretinka every time. And now Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Beauty!
The local bike park is great, and there are also electric scooters. Cost: 20 b.r./adult bike, 25/bike with child seat, 15/teenager, 5/kindergarten
We reached the residence. They didn't go to her territory anymore, time was limited, and no one was particularly interested in Santa Claus himself, as it turned out. We had a party. Let's go back.
The bus is coming soon. We rode along the animal enclosures at a fast pace.
We had a special pleasure: the aviaries are very spacious, the animals are well-groomed. We saw deer, gorgeous wolves, bears, bison, wild boar, and various birds.
There is also a Nature Museum on site. There are organized excursions to the Forest, to the residence of Santa Claus: 20 bel.rub./ child, 30 bel.rub./ adult.
There are no shops, there are cafes and restaurants. The prices in the cafe next to the residence of D.M. are reasonable.
There are routes of varying lengths for cycling and electric scooter rides. The navigation is clear. For those who are particularly curious about the routes, there are information boards about the local flora.
To be fair, our walk is a ride along an asphalt road in the forest. You can find one much closer. But everything worked out for us: we are together, the sun, the primroses are pleasing to the eye, the birds are singing, the smells of pine needles, the wind in the face, the value of the place itself. We enjoyed this adventure immensely.
Wow-a place! From the very beginning it may seem that this is an ordinary forest, but everything is revealed later: a lot of aviaries with unique animals that have not lived in Europe for a long time, the gentle sun. We found a miracle: the birth of a foal, a unique event. There are also many different sports and other events in the national park (on the day of our visit, a republican cycling competition was held). I recommend it!
We arrived with the children by car, we were unpleasantly surprised by the catering service. All tables in the cafe are reserved (probably for organized groups). There is a cafe-tent on the street, or rather the assortment of food resembled the Soviet eateries of bus stations in small towns. Even buying coffee is problematic. There are queues everywhere, the assortment is terrible. We did not expect such a service, we are disappointed. It is worth visiting the nature museum. But take a thermos of coffee and sandwiches with you :(
It is an unusual place for me, a native Siberian. What surprised me, but rather conquered, was the 600-year-old oak tree. A very powerful tree with traces of lightning. And, I also came across a pine tree, 150 years old. This is the first time I've seen such an age tree. There is a very strong contrast between Belovezhskaya Pushcha and our Siberian forests, our taiga. But the trip was worth it.
I love Belovezhskaya Pushcha! This is a place where you relax both soul and body! Long bike rides through the magnificent nature are an incredible pleasure and benefit! If you're lucky, you can see animals in the wild - an incredible feeling! A huge plus in rental bicycles is that they ride as if by themselves! We go there every year! The patriarch oak, which is 600 years old, is a monument to wildlife!
A wonderful place to relax, walk through the forest and observe animals. The magnificent birdsong in the forest is a special pleasure. It's great that there is an opportunity to rent bicycles and ride along long and elongated paths in the park.
Take with you drying, carrots for feeding animals.
A wonderful nature reserve! Everything is well-maintained, there are bike paths (bicycles can also be rented), various cycling and hiking routes, very clean in the forest and neat. It's just a fairy tale! Well-groomed aviaries with animals, a beautiful and picturesque forest where Santa Claus, the Snow Maiden and all the sled heroes live. You find yourself in a fairy tale. There is a restaurant, cafe, shops on site. A cool open-air Archaeological Museum, with good-natured and hospitable staff who are happy to help you. This is a place of power. Next time I will rent a hotel there to stay longer among the mighty trees and beautiful birds and animals. It is convenient to get there, especially from Brest. Both by car and by bus.
A wonderful nature reserve, park and museum. But the best time to visit it is certainly in the summer, especially for children. I had been here many times before and it was always in the warm season. But since I had business in Brest, I couldn't help but visit Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Everything is interesting here. Fairy-tale characters, especially Baba Yaga, left good impressions. Of course, there are a lot of people, especially on the eve of the New Year, since the residence of the Belarusian Santa Claus is located here. I always have only positive impressions from visiting Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
We were in October 2024. as part of an excursion group by bus with an overview of the Forest and a visit to the Nature Museum. The guides' stories about flora and fauna, about the observations of specialists, about the peculiarities of the world of animals and birds are interesting. We were at the museum of folk life, and examined the aviaries with animals. We thank everyone who takes care of all this and keeps it!!!
I liked the park very much, but the whole vacation was spoiled by an event that took place in the center of the complex. Walking after dinner not far from the restaurant, we watched a picture of how a dead deer was brought by car to the very center of the complex and German tourists, apparently hunters, in front of others with smiles on their faces, began to cut the deer's mouth to get apparently a trophy tooth. It would be all right if it was outside the complex. Of course, we wanted to see wild animals, but not in this form. We hope that this is all resolved, otherwise these actions cannot be explained. The accompanying German tourists told us that everything was normal.
The huge territory of the reserve, large aviaries, century-old trees, an open-air archaeological museum, various cycling and hiking routes.
The animals in their habitat are (almost) fed. It takes about 1.5 km to get there.taxi from Brest railway station.
This is my second visit to the Forest. I lived in it myself for a week. Delicious food, you can walk around the vast territory or book excursions. I enjoyed studying animals. Bison are my favorite
Great place. The air is clean. On a bus tour we saw bison and deer in the forest. The Nature Museum is fabulous! USSR Hotel. The rooms are cold, there is an additional heater, but it does not really help. The price includes breakfast (large and hearty), a swimming pool and aviaries. The standard costs about 5000₽. At the reception you can buy the necessary little things (slippers, gels and everything you need for the pool). The restaurant serves delicious food and the price is reasonable . 4 people ate for 7500rubles, with beer and not denying themselves anything. The interior is from the 90s, but clean and tidy. In general, I liked it. I recommend.
We were in June 2024, took a bus tour of the park with a visit to the museum. There are no impressions from the tour at all, the guide's story is very mediocre, the speech is not very literate, constant jumps from topic to topic. It is possible that there is nothing to tell. There are few animals in the enclosures. The on-site cafe is a separate story, just a dining room with an unpleasant smell and mediocre dishes. If desired, it would be possible to make everything interesting (in the national flavor at least). Restoration is underway now, perhaps something will change. If you are on your way (you are in Brest), then you can stop by and see (for ✅).
A place of power. It's just a magical place in Brest. A must-visit. You can spend the night in the territory, visit the sauna. ride a bike. There is no way to get around on a tourist bus in one day. In a good way, 2-3 times it is necessary that you have enough strength to watch the most interesting moments. The smell of the forest is maddening, it's better to go deeper.
I arrived from Brest by bus at 12 o'clock, wandered through the aviaries and got on a sightseeing tour at 14 o'clock, then had a leisurely lunch, a snack, a smoke break and a bus to Brest at 18 o'clock. It's quite budget-friendly and informative.I found out about the village museum late, I could have visited it instead of a snack. I recommend
To get a good impression and not get very tired, it is better to rent bicycles and ride around the territory. In fact, it is a very clean and seemingly ordinary mixed forest. Plus, you can buy crackers and acorns, and with this good you can go into the enclosures of roe deer, moose and horses. Of course, you will also see bison, they are closer to the end of the enclosures. There are wolves, a bear, a fox and several birds of prey.
Museums (except perhaps the nature Museum) will not surprise you.
The park itself is a must-visit, especially with children! The primeval forest, while there is an infrastructure for tourists. Hiking trails through the forest are fascinating! Cafe Skazka is a canteen-level cafe, fast, quite tasty, not pretentious, without frills, unexpectedly not very expensive. We stayed at the recreation area of Planta 1 with tents for 2 nights (reservation by phone, payment in the 4th building of the Kamenyuki hotel) - we are very satisfied! Clean, beautiful, firewood, gazebos, barbecue. Santa Claus works hard, the children, and we liked it. The sightseeing tour also pleased me. Buses on narrow paths that scare away bicycles... so this is the need to take groups on excursions. This is better than letting private cars in, and the territory is huge - you can't get there on foot (Santa Claus is 12 km from the entrance, obzor - 50 km). Excursion 3 times a day, Santa Claus - 2. So there aren't that many buses. We'll come again!
An incredible place of power and a business card of the Republic of Belarus!! Mighty and wild forests are a place every Belarusian should visit, But there is one nuance that we did not immediately figure out why, this is not a pedestrian place!! Of course, you can walk to the aviary and back and the forces will already run out, because the length of the largest route is 30 kilometers!!! Therefore, when planning a trip, be sure to take an electric scooter!!! Well, or on an extreme bike, you can rent it, but the price tags here are very high. The best period of the trip is the end of September, when a beautiful golden autumn and the night roar of deer!!! Believe me, you will remember this for the rest of your life!
The cannon Reserve! Huge territory, very clean. A wonderful museum. The bison were impressed. The residence of Santa Claus is fabulous and he is friendly and smiling. You can only spend time there for 5+.
Choose a nice day and be sure to visit it, the nature is beautiful, there is a place to walk, bison are real :), you can ride a chariot through the forest, see the century-old oaks, liked it, would come back again.
We went to visit friends in Brest
That's something! The park is very well maintained, the animals are also clean, well-fed and beautiful. Everything is very pleasant and European. I often review our photos and I want to go there again...
A must-visit place. We came with our bicycles and scooters, took a ticket to the eco-trail 16 km, the air, the views, everything is super!
The only disadvantage is that all restaurants and cafes were served by tour groups, independent tourists had to leave hungry)))
We liked the museum, walked along the aviaries with animals. You can stay on the territory to live and enjoy nature. There are hiking and cycling routes. There is a parking lot in front of the reserve. We were there one day, but I would like to stay longer.
The charm is great, the air is clean, I was lucky with the weather. It was raining, but only while the bus was moving, and then the sun and the intoxicating clean air. Be sure to visit more than once, if time and finances allow.
A beautiful park. There are several bike routes. We rode bicycles for a while (we rented them). There are places where you can relax and have a snack.
We looked at the animals in large enclosures. I liked the family of wolves with small cubs the most. I liked it so much that I even forgot to take a picture.
At the end of the walk, we had a great lunch at a local cafe. Chanterelle soup and pancakes with strawberry jam were on top!
This place is only for those who do not mind riding a few kilometers on a bicycle (for rent). For walkers, only the museum and the zoo. The museum is great, but small. The zoo is large in size, but there are very few animals
They'll go to the other side or into the middle of the pen and you won't see them
The nature is certainly beautiful, however, as in the forests around, it is better to see the animals in the zoo because there are very few of them here! If you want to have a snack or a drink, most likely you will not succeed - the restaurant and cafe will be closed to serve groups of tourists, and there are simply no tents and tents! A sad place and wasted time and money! 😞
Everything is great, of course, different types of forests, bison in museums, etc., etc. But, excuse me, why do cars and buses travel along pedestrian and bicycle roads? The whole impression of the reserve was spoiled by this, I can give way to cars in the city!
Beautiful, large territory. We were in aviaries and in the Museum of nature. The little child was also interested. The only drawback: a large number of gadflies. We were in July.
I liked everything very much! It is not the first time we have traveled and every time we are delighted with the place, the air and the cleanliness. But there is one thing, the aviary with a bunny is equipped so that the poor animal is rushing around, and he has nowhere to hide to rest! There are two hollow logs that can be viewed from all sides and no place to hide. I want the employees to think about it.
A good place where you can relax on a weekend with the whole family, ride bicycles. I really liked the Animal Trail route. There are almost no people, you drive on gravel and enjoy the forest. The route is very easy. But there are other routes there too.... On narrow roads, cyclists are overtaken by tourist buses, driving into a ditch (the road is very narrow). I don't understand at all how it was possible to launch huge gasoline buses in the national park. This is a big minus. Aviaries with animals are mainly deer and bison. I wasn't really interested. It's more for small children. In general, I recommend the place. It is better to choose routes where there are no buses, so as not to smell the dust.
We were in the Forest in the summer, Cleanliness both in the forest itself and at the entrance to it.Upon arrival, you can walk through the relict forests on foot, by bike, order a carriage with a guide who takes you, and tells you about it in parallel. It will show century-old trees. You will get to know the animals in the aviaries, you can take treats for them with you if desired. You should definitely visit the museum. The expositions are very interesting. There are also hotels, a restaurant, and a cafe on the territory. There are bus tours. In winter, there is a Santa Claus house for children.Even though we were there, I want to get there again.
There is an ideal idea of Belovezhskaya Pushcha as a relict protected forest, but the reality is somewhat different.
Only a small part of the reserve is open to tourists, and not the oldest. This corner looks like a zoo in the forest. Large aviaries with animals and paved paths on both sides.
Bison are the most popular, they are very friendly.
This is a place that owls cannot describe. Emotions are just going off the scale. This is a very unique place. It's just great. Fantastic nature. Clean reservoirs are very cool.
For me, a room with young children is quite difficult, unless you just go to the animal enclosures or go to Santa Claus. Some of the cafes did not work, the rest had a rather dubious menu! Otherwise, with adults and older children (if they can ride), you can rent a bike, drive around the park and enjoy nature!
