It is definitely worth visiting Phaselis. Even if you are not a fan of ruins, it is still worth coming here. The nature is very beautiful here.
In addition, you can come here for a whole day for a beach holiday. Not far from the ruins there are bays where yachts with tourists (including from Kemer) sail. In Phaselis they make a stop for swimming.
And the locals come here in cars with folding tables and chairs and spend the whole day.
And if you like active recreation, then you will have the opportunity to walk along the Lycian trail along the coast. Sometimes the trail rises to a decent height and you find yourself on observation decks with stunning views. Beautiful music can be heard from the yachts somewhere, and the indescribable smell of pine trees is in the air. Incredible atmosphere!
Entrance to the Phaselis costs 10 euros. You can also pay in lira. There is a cafe trailer and free toilets on the territory of the ancient city. How to get there on your own from Kemer, detailed info will be in the tg channel @letaemsami
A beautiful city, visited independently. It is easy to get from Kemer or Antalya by car or public transport. The upper rows of the amphitheater offer stunning views of the mountains. A great bay with a sandy bottom for swimming, it is also very suitable for children. Pine trees make it possible not to be under the scorching sun. You can have a picnic (without a campfire and with the removal of your garbage)
The aqueduct is perfectly preserved, it's nice to walk in the heat in the pine forest on the coast. There are three beaches in the shade of pine trees. Very beautiful and clean water ...
The entrance has gone up a lot, about 400 liras😏
It is easy to get there by bus ta08 or by car.
There are wonderful beaches here. There are three of them. They are especially popular with locals. They come in cars with their families.
What's the beauty of it. The sea + pine trees, under the shadow of which the people settle down. It is shallow, so the sea warms up well. There is sand on one of the beaches, which is rare for Kemer. On others, you can swim with views of the ancient city. The beaches are unequipped, but there is a toilet in the parking lot.
You can get from Kemer by Dolmush. The entrance, as we wrote earlier, is not cheap
We bought tickets for the first time. The second, deciding that we were interested only in the beach, walked along the Lycian trail "savage".
A beautiful place - the ruins of an ancient city and at the same time 2 relatively small beaches right next to the ruins. Beautiful nature - the sea, pine trees, a fairly well-preserved part of the ancient Lycian city of the 4th-5th centuries before the NE - theater, thermal baths, central street, aqueduct, northern and southern harbors (where, in fact, the beaches are located). The northern harbor has a very small pebble beach, the southern one has a part in pines and without a coastal strip, part on the sand in the open sun. The entrance is pebbles and stones everywhere.
I gave a low rating because in the prices of 2024 they collected 10 euros per person, while there is no infrastructure here - there are no sun beds, cabins, toilets on the beaches (toilets and a small shower with additional smells only at the aqueduct). There are repairs around (apparently, lighting is being laid). There is very little information (there is a stand near the amphitheater and a couple of inscriptions on the preserved structures).
You can only get there by car, there is a traffic jam at the entrance, because they are just collecting money for travel to the territory. To get there, you need to avoid missing the turn from the Antalya highway (brown signs on the highway indicate the sights, but we still managed to skip the repeat first :)).
One of the many ancient cities in Turkey, located near Kemer, entrance is paid, many Turks come for the weekend, there is something to see in the oldest city, archaeological excavations and restoration of the appearance are constantly being carried out, so every time you see new locations, a great beach next to the ancient city, nature, antiquity, beauty, the sea is a must-visit.
The place is beautiful, the Greeks knew how to choose! A small peninsula with two small and one large bays, pine trees. There are vacationers everywhere, parking right by the aqueduct, there is also a museum stall, food and a toilet. General explanations, in Russian, are also in the center of the theater. Restoration is going on everywhere, more like a simple construction: in two years there will be a brand-new ancient Greek town. The ticket is 350 lire, it takes about twenty minutes to walk from the ticket office, you can drive by car.
Hello, everyone.
We had a family vacation in August 2023 in Chamyuva (Kemer) and decided to visit Phaselis, an ancient city on the Mediterranean coast, on our own.
No problems on the 08 minibus, we got to the open-air museum.
The ticket cost 220 lire/person.
From the entrance to the museum-reserve there is an asphalt road to the seashore. Walk for about 20 minutes at a calm pace.
Phaselis is located between three crystal turquoise coves.
The number of preserved ancient buildings, an amphitheater, streets, tombs, houses is impressive.
Touching the ancient life....
Turks really like to relax here with their families, they come by car and spend the whole day in this beauty.
We visited a lot of sites, took beautiful photos and swam in one of the bays.
After breakfast at the hotel, you can come both for half a day and for the whole day. Not only to explore the ancient city, but also to have plenty of rest on its shores.
It should be noted that there are no cafes here, only small stalls with water and fruits.
Therefore, take snacks and water with you.
We spent several hours and returned to the hotel by minibus by lunch.
I recommend you to visit.
I got there on my own from Kemer. It's a long walk from the bus stop. It's hard in the heat. I went around everything quickly in 2 hours, I was limited in time. Amazing! I love ancient cities. Many people mistakenly write about Ancient Greece, but these are the remnants of the Lycian state. Gorgeous viaduct, harbors, central alley, agora, baths, theater, tombstones. There is an assumption that Alexander the Great is under one of the slabs. The story is real. Locals are allowed to have picnics. It looks a little strange. Entrance tickets are too expensive (and only in lira) if you travel with your family. But there is a Lycian trail through the mountains (I didn't dare).
If you are going to walk there, about two kilometers from chamyuva, pay special attention to shoes, sneakers, comfortable shoes!!! In general, the place is beautiful, you can swim. If you go further along the Lycian ladder, you will climb rocks, stones, and make your way through bushes, if you expected that there was a good path there, you are mistaken. This is only for an extreme lover. Along the way, you will encounter remnants of civilization in the form of ruins, sarcophagi. The path is marked on rocks or trees with red paint . They often go to the sides, wriggling, making loops. In general, you can just visit *paradise bay * swim in it and return back to the city. Paradise Bay is the beginning of the Lycian trail. Take a bus to the ruins of the ancient city of Phaselis. If you drive from the Chamyuva area, kirish... On the regular bus *08* ask the driver to stop at the phaselis , there are signs on the road. If you go from Tekerov, the bus goes to the right place. Please note that the entrance fee is 10 euros.
It is a very picturesque place, you can come and walk with the company and without an excursion, explore the landscape. There are several beaches where there are few people, you can relax in peace! The guard walks around 18.00 and warns that the parking lot of Phaselis will close soon and there will be no way to leave, so keep an eye on the time!
It's worth a visit, for lovers of ruins. Restorations and excavations every day, it can be dusty. Also on the territory, there is a very large bay for swimming. There is both sand and Pebbles. The entrance cost about 10 euros, and only in lira! On weekends, there are a lot of locals, parking will be difficult
We visited Phaselis in May 2024. Many people write how to get there by transport, I will write how to get there on foot if you live in a hotel in Tekirova and like to walk. Go towards Rixos, go around it from the side of the water park, then into the forest along the path / road, go out into the field and along the edge of the hill go to the farm near it to the right and towards the sea until you see the sign of the Lycian trail, then follow it through a wild beach, a hill (40 meters rise), and another the beach. The journey takes an hour and a half at a relaxed pace. It is better to wear off-road shoes for safety on the hills. The ancient city itself is quite interesting, you can touch it, walk around the buildings. The entrance was free from the beach, but now a hundred things have changed. the way there and back is about 12km.
I got to Phaselis for the first time about... 12 years ago. I was amazed by the preservation and careful attitude to the culture, which seemed alien to modern Turks. Luxurious descriptions in several languages, including excellent literary Russian - a rarity at that time.
For the second year in a row, there is a total war... let's call it reconstruction: the ruins are excavated, cleared, blocks are sorted and a new model is built from them. Some of the destroyed fragments are replaced with concrete mortar.
With the silence there now too... And there are more tourists, and a lot of construction equipment, and builders have fenced off areas for themselves. Mostly for picnics, which seems to be done more than, actually, construction.
Additional bonus - there is a yacht parking in the bay. And our compatriots walk on yachts. Tagil in full growth 🤬
One of the most beautiful places in Turkey. The Lycian Trail passes through this place. Beautiful beaches on both sides of the ancient city. Within walking distance from the village of Tekirova. Be sure to visit in different travel formats
A wonderful place not only for enjoying nature, but also for philosophical knowledge of the antiquity of our civilization, its wisdom and beauty.
PS for autumn 2024, admission per person is 10 euros, or 350 liras. For advanced users, a walking tour along the Lycian Trail.
An interesting place, it's a pity that the entrance is paid. The equivalent of 10 euros in Lira. There is practically nothing to watch. The only thing is that there is a pretty lagoon for swimming, and the pines shelter from the scorching sun. I rode my bike there, I thought they charge money for entry only from cars) There's nothing to do there the second time. Yes, you can enter the territory for free in the morning before 8 and after 19:00 in the evening. It is forbidden to stop with a tent.
An interesting place. There are many historical ruins. I like to touch history and antiquity. If you walk to the end of this open-air museum, you can swim in a small bay. The water is clean and warm. You can get to the museum by a regular minibus, which runs quite often. I recommend you to visit.
It was incredibly beautiful. The energy is powerful. I went there twice a week and I want more. The amphitheater was especially striking. Be sure to visit there. But the best place is the excavation of the temple of Athena
Ruins of an ancient city, impressive. A must-visit. Magnificent view of the bay and the mountains.
If you go from the Lycian trail, you can go straight to Phaselis and do not have to buy a ticket at the entrance near the road.
It's a beautiful place. But this is just for lovers of antiquity, Gothic.. For fans of history! As a walk, not very much. The area is large, there are places where there is nowhere to hide from the sun for kilometers..
It was very interesting to visit a small Byzantine city with a centuries-old history: the remains of several buildings have been preserved. Turkish archaeologists are carrying out work, you can see up close, what can be restored is being actively restored by the state. Admission from the beach is free.
It's a great place. Pine needles and the sea, the smell is indescribable. 3 different beaches. One of them has black sand and a smooth depth, which is good for children. I always come to Phaselis when I go to Kemer.
It's a very interesting place. If you walk through the old town, you will find yourself on a gorgeous beach, with a gorgeous bay, the depth of which increases gradually from 50cm to 20m. The sand is dark but not dirty. Yachts with tourists come into it all the time and bathe them. There are no waves. Landscapes.... In general, relax. If there is a choice- a yacht or a car, it is better by car, since the yacht goes there for 10 minutes. The old town itself also has something to see for lovers of antiquity.
On October 24, the ruins are in the process of excavation and there are not many places to walk, there are a variety of beaches. If you come here for this for the whole day, then the price of 10 € is normal, but if you look at the historical landmark, it's a little early :) as soon as the Turks dig out everything and make an excursion, then you can repeat it
If you are vacationing in the Kemer area, especially Tekirova or Chamyuva, then visiting the ancient city of Phaselis will diversify your leisure time well and add memories to your piggy bank.
When visiting on your own, I advise you to read the history of the city in advance.
We took a taxi from Tekirova. The cost is $25 round trip or $15 one way. You can call a taxi through Whatsapp in Russian. The comfort of a trip in the heat fully justifies the cost. The entrance to the city is $ 10, but the payment is only in lira, about 360 lira per person. Children under 8 years old are free of charge.
The city is located in the pines, you can touch the ruins, look at them inside somewhere, see the remains of plumbing or marble coverings.
While walking, we got tired of the heat and wanted to refresh ourselves in the sea. On the advice of the Internet, we went to the south bay. No luck - there was garbage in the water, like in a dumpster, we went in and immediately left. There are no changing rooms in that area, they put a bunch of thorns on clothes somewhere, then they were torn off for a very long time.
As a result, they bought up in the very port of the city. The water here was a little cooler, the bottom is rocky, but comfortable for us. m.b. swim to the ruins and relax on them. We didn't go to the northern bay, I can't say anything about it, but it's very close to the port.
The whole swim trip took us 3-4 hours.
A very beautiful and picturesque place with its own history, it is worth visiting to see the ruins (for 10 euros per person))), payment only in lira or by card. A picturesque beach, but the entrance to it is through pebbles, but then the sandy bottom is crystal clear and warm water with mountain views.
A wonderful attraction. The ruins of an ancient City. I enjoyed walking in this place. It's a pity that there are no organized trips, you can only get there by yourself - by taxi or public transport.
Iniresnop is a place for walking. There are quite a few ancient artifacts and well-preserved buildings from ancient times. There are two large beaches nearby - there is a place to relax and cool off before and after a walk.
A very interesting ancient city, there is a part of the aqueduct, an amphitheater, a square. In addition, you can also swim in two bays, with small children it is also possible.
We were here 2 times in 2023 and 2024. Everything is wonderful and beautiful, but the last time there were stone slabs on the beach after archaeological excavations, I hope it won't be for long. In the bay opposite the aqueduct, I advise you to swim away with a mask, there is a very beautiful arch of ancient slabs and there are many different fish swimming around.
There is a shower, toilet, cafe and souvenir shop.
An interesting ancient city with a very beautiful aqueduct and a picturesque bay. There are many foundations of ancient buildings, a beautiful amphitheater and many columns. One of the disadvantages is the overpriced price. Do not believe the sites that say that the entrance costs 90 liras. It was in April 2024, the entrance cost 10 euros or 375 lira. There is a cool picnic area on the beach in the shade of a tree.
An incredibly beautiful place. Especially the viaduct. Although there is something to see without it. A lot of animals were seen in the forest, including a turtle. The most vivid impression I've had in a week
A very beautiful place! The ruins of an ancient city in a coniferous forest on the seashore - what could be more beautiful? You can walk and admire the architecture, you can swim in one of the three bays, you can have a picnic in the shade. I highly recommend visiting for lovers of antiquities vacationing in Kemer.
It's interesting to come and see it once. There is a path leading up the hill, a beautiful view and ancient empty graves at the top. There are artificially restored ruins of the city below, which continue to be restored. The entrance fee is 10 euros per person, including children. For Turks, 60 lire per person. There is a bay with a large sandy beach with a changing room and toilet 100-200 meters from the beach.
We walked here from our Marvida Hotel Akman Park, which is located in the village.Chamyuva. We downloaded a map of Antalya and the surrounding area to our phone. The Lycian trail is laid there. They followed it through the Paradise beach and then along the sea through the forest. We left the hotel at 5:40 at dawn to catch the heat. The trail itself was a delight. The most beautiful coves with turquoise clear water. Sometimes I had to climb up and go down to the beaches. But it's not hard. We saw a squirrel) Closer to Phaselis, stone sarcophagi and a deep well began to come across. By 8 o'clock we reached the territory of Phaselis. There is a booth at the entrance to pay for the entrance. But there was no one there. Perhaps because the Eid al-Adha holiday has begun. I liked Phaselis. The aqueduct is large, the main street with baths, an agora and an amphitheater. Cool and interesting! We were walking back to the highway to catch a bus. The road there is quite long. We came to the intersection, crossed to the highway on the left. The 08 Kemer-Antalya bus arrived quickly. We returned at 9:40. We had time for breakfast)))
Very picturesque ancient ruins against the background of pine trees and the sea, I recommend walking from Paradise Bay to Phaselis along the Lycian trail. It will take 25-30 minutes
The ancient city, 7th century, is very beautiful and looks good, they keep order, there is no garbage, only in the evening from vacationers, everything is clean in the morning. A beautiful beach with a gentle approach.
the coolest place on the Antalya coast of the pine can be said to be a reserve very beautiful beaches, fragments of columns, the decor goes straight to the sea. for the whole day you need to take a drink of bathing accessories sunscreen and a towel
Interesting architecture of ancient Greece, I walked there along the Lycian trail, from the coast, through a small mountain. My impressions were positive.
You can take a local bus from Kemer. Entrance is paid. 100 eurics. In cash. The place is good, the Turks themselves arrange barbecue - bakers there. The beach is right on the ruins of an ancient city. And watch and relax. I recommend you to visit.
I wonder if it's worth spending half a day and going... It's true that a lot of things are closed because of the work on laying paths and other improvements for viewing, but it still smells so powerfully of antiquity that even goosebumps arise from time to time, when you think about how many centuries it all costs...
