I definitely won't advise my friends when visiting Samarkand. And it's not about the small number of national dishes. According to the description below, it will become clearer:
4 people came with their family from a walk around 17:30 without prior reservation. The receptionist gave a table strictly until 20:00. We agreed without hesitation. And then a few joints completely spoiled the impression inflated by other reviews.
1. The wrong salad was brought that was ordered. Replaced
2. They brought the wrong hot food that they ordered. They replaced it, but we met them halfway - we took the wrong hot stuff with us
3. The dish for the youngest child (cutlets and mashed potatoes) was brought an hour later
4. Taking food, you do not get real pleasure, but rather convince yourself that it is oh so delicious. The taste of the food is not at the highest level, which is very surprising with such a status of the restaurant
5. At 18:58, the administrator came up and hinted that other guests were already waiting and at 19 o'clock it was necessary to clear the table. However, then she came to her senses and ran to "allow" to stay until 20:00.
6. The "left" French fries were punched into the check. It's funny - Samarkand, a vaunted restaurant and "fries" with mutton🤦♂️
They left disappointed. I definitely understand that other restaurants would show loyalty for such shoals - a discount or a compliment. But this is definitely not about "Sycamore".
The image is high, but employees, alas, cannot match it. Something needs to be changed in the management of the institution.

I think this is the best restaurant in Samarkand.
We were on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was open, unlike other popular restaurants. The menu is quite large. We have been here 3 times. Everything was delicious every time.
The interior is pleasant. Patio with a cat^_^
The waiters are very attentive. The feed is fast.

I really liked the sycamore because there is a courtyard with beautiful greenery. Very tasty food and some giant portions, in my opinion. We went twice in a row, both times we were delighted. I especially liked the fresh cucumber salad and fragrant tomatoes with herbs, nothing complicated, but very tasty. I recommend visiting this place to all guests of Samarkand.

Convenient location, the restaurant is located almost in the center of the city, when we arrived, we were informed that there were no places, but after fussing we were seated inside. Inside the restaurant there is a beautiful interior and a comfortable temperature. We ordered for a long time, because there is not much of what is presented on the menu, we ordered meat and salads, unlike other restaurants in Spmarkand, serving as in Russia - in small portions. The prices are higher than in the Samarkand restaurant, and you will find out about it when the bill is brought, the waiter babbled that the prices on the menu are without VAT and without tips... In general, the price ended up being 30% higher. An unpleasant aftertaste after a pleasant evening.

This is the top 1 among Samarkand restaurants, in my personal rating! The menu has both European and local cuisine, and the desserts are good. The assortment of the wine list was pleasantly surprised and the prices are quite reasonable (try local wines, there are excellent samples). The officers are responsive, attentive and efficient. I was pleased with a local musician who plays the saxophone, clarinet, duduk, will play a melody at your table to suit your mood or occasion.

I really liked this place. A cozy atmosphere, a beautiful design designed in the national style, part of our hall was separated from the main one by batik canvases with Uzbek motifs.
The place is visited, there are many foreigners.
The cuisine is delicious, the serving is not long, the waiters are professionals, they ask about the order of serving, they monitor the filling of glasses (in Uzbekistan, this service is far from every restaurant).

It's not tasty, I didn't like the food. We came here for manta rays, disappointment: the dough is bad, thick. The filling is not tasty. And it was especially frustrating that you, a tourist, are being held for a fool here: in Uzbekistan, 10-15% for service is always added to the cost of the check, this is written on the menu itself, in the Platan restaurant it is 15%, but the waiter thought that this was not enough and 2 (!!!) raza persistently told her husband about the tip ... the management should pay attention to this behavior of the staff. The place itself is pleasant, the trees were blooming in May, it was nice to sit on the outdoor veranda.

A wonderful restaurant in Samarkand. The kitchen is beyond praise. The restaurant has been open for 22 years. Mutton would have eaten itself if it knew how delicious it would be cooked in the Platan restaurant! Live music will brighten up the dinner. The musician plays the piano, flute, saxophone. He feels the visitors perfectly. Both "The Wind is Crying" and "Victory Day" are playing equally soulfully. The work of Sycamore is clearly demonstrated by the fact that we specially returned here for the second time in a day, having left another popular restaurant.

The best place to eat in the city. I definitely recommend the "book room" for a relaxing evening. The service is at the level of a modern metropolis, the dishes are also delicious, I recommend taking something from the Josper menu (this is a machine for baking meat and fish) - it turns out with smoke!
And don't forget to book a table in advance, otherwise you may not find a place.

Great restaurant. The service is good. There were two halls: one as a library, with books, the second - standard, but with a pleasant design. In the evenings, there is live music - they play instruments (piano, brass). In general, it's atmospheric.
The food is delicious. Salads (with beans and 2 others with eggplant) and hot (potatoes with meat in a pan) were excellent. The only thing is, I ordered a grilled cheese patty, and it turned out to be a little dry.
In general, I can say that I will go there during my next visits.
