A highly inflated rating of the restaurant, both in Yandex and in the guides to Samarkand. The kitchen is banal and simple to the point of impudence. The prices are unreasonably high. Prestige is inflated: despite the fact that the hostess allegedly had difficulty finding a table for two for us, because we had not booked in advance, there were empty tables in the hall all evening. The waiter was proactive and the time was not very long for the dishes. But when they were brought, I realized that we came to the dining room, where they put ordinary cream cheese from a jar into eggplant rolls and nothing else, grated cheese with parsley is wrapped in pita bread, as my child could cook, dolma falls apart, and the main dishes consist of baked or boiled potatoes with meat, which as delicacies are sprinkled with fresh onions or watered with melted cheese "Amber". One of the most expensive meat dishes is a simple roast with stewed vegetables. There are already two types of wines by the glass. Background music is unexpectedly techno.
I left the stars for the fact that the meat was well chewed and the waiter was polite.

Great place, delicious, especially all the meat from the oven or on the grill (they have a separate menu), be sure to try it! Everything is delicious, the whole menu: salads, soups... I was very pleased with the solyanka. And of course cocktails. Must have! I recommend. I forgot to say about desserts and coffee - it's delicious! One of the best places in Samarkand.

I had to visit the place twice to evaluate it. The first time I did not believe that an institution with such reviews, ratings, prices could have such mediocre service and cuisine.
It is important to clarify that I rate an institution with the highest rating in the city and ambitious prices, and for an institution of this level, my rating is 1 star.
I will not describe the events, I will just list:
Long serving, poor service, cold dishes, a four-volume menu, and the cherry on the cake is not delicious.
It is important to specify here, there are delicious dishes here, but there are those that are not possible to eat.
At 12.30, they did not have time to open the veranda, only 1 of the 3 halls is working, in which they thought of setting the climate at 17 °. The atmosphere in the hall is similar to a Moscow bar from 2000

We are from Moscow and St. Petersburg, so we are very picky and spoiled)) but!! This is love at first sight! The best place in all of Tashkent and Samarkand, and we've been to a lot of places. Service, atmosphere, assortment and most importantly the food itself and the serving -5 and 5!!! For drinks , too .

A pleasant interior, quite authentic, the restaurant turned out to have a hotel, a rating of 9.1 on booking (sticker) I do not know how reliable. About the food: a salad of peeled tomatoes, a large portion with onions and peppers, is not bad, but so far it is probably not the season; samsa is very decent, the puff pastry is well baked, the meat is juicy, twisted through a meat grinder, but the onion is quite coarsely chopped, normal; lamb rack, well, what can I say is lamb, not lamb, there was a very negative taste of burnt plastic bag in my mouth, but as it turned out, these are spices, they are passing by. About drinks: fruit tea is normal, without frills; an excellent negative was left by the waiter pouring the remains of wine from the bottle, immediately boldly poured into one glass and instantly offered a new bottle, maybe it's customary, but I've never seen this anywhere, they always pour no matter how much remains in all glasses, even a drop, and only then offer to top up the bottle is too shameless a gesture. Of all the establishments that we managed to visit in Samarkand, this is the best! It is cozy, hospitable, with a wide selection of dishes (both local and European cuisine) and drinks. If you are in Samarkand, I think that the Sycamore is obligatory to visit ;)

An overrated place.
We tried to have dinner twice: the first time the restaurant refused to be closed and there was no information about it on Yandex.maps, only we arrived in vain. The second time we managed to get in, but we were warned that we had to leave the restaurant in an hour, because other guests would come. We were in a hurry, ate as soon as possible, had time, and when we got dressed, the hostess put a piece of paper with armor on the table only 1.5 hours after we left. And that's why rush people so much then!??? The service is not too caring, the waiters are busy with some of their own affairs. The food is normal, but the manta rays turned out to be three, burst and with a bunch of onions, in the signature dish with lamb, too, 30 percent onion.

A restaurant with a capital letter. The prices are above average (by local standards), but it's worth it. Delicious, aesthetically pleasing, decent. The three of us ate here for 280,000 soums (vegetarian dishes, beer, tea). Free Wi-Fi, a cozy atmosphere, the most attentive waiters. I definitely recommend it.
P.S. After 3 days we visited the Sycamore Tree again. I'm ready to bet 5 plus again. I note that all the dishes and ingredients here are 100% consistent with my idea of specific European dishes. If it's burrata cheese, then cream flows from it. If the caprese salad is with mozzarella, and not with some kind of cheese substitute. Excellent spritz-aperol. And everything is very, very tasty. I consider this restaurant to be the best in Samarkand. Thanks guys, keep it up!

The service is good, the staff is friendly, but - as everywhere in Uzbekistan, the interior is interesting, decent, not parochial, an application for a "level"; there are many tourists from different countries. The kitchen itself, unfortunately, was not at all impressed. If you are tired of authenticity and want a Europeanized atmosphere, you are welcome here.

Yesterday we went to hospitable Samarkand.
We had a lot of fun walking around the city, where there are many beautiful places, one of which is the PLATAN restaurant.
We thank the chef for the delicious dishes, and for taking into account our wishes (regarding the small amount of salt in the food)))
Polite staff, we thank Azamat separately for the table setting, friendly attitude to the guests and timely delivery of what we ordered

It's a very interesting place. Delicious dishes. The price tag is a little too high. The interiors are beautiful. The waiters are friendly. We decided to come the next day. But... I was amazed that the next day we received yesterday's (!!!) dish. Cooked yesterday. It was just warmed up and brought. That is, in the evening we ordered a cauldron kebab: delicious, excellent potatoes, incomparable meat... And at lunch (at 12.30) we received the same Kazan kebab left over from the evening...With withered potatoes and a few pieces of dried meat. I think that this is not acceptable for an institution of this level.
