The best beach is paid, near a boxwood grove. There you can relax all day under the pine trees on the beach.

The beach is clean, the water is amazing. But there are no paths on the beach and you have to walk on stones in shoes, which is not always handy. There were few sunbeds (although they seemed to be paid, they did not ask us for money), they were out of season and there were few people, and despite this, they barely snatched the sunbeds. For a free pass, you have to go around somewhere there, and so, 50 rubles are stripped off to go directly to the beach. Also not nice. For what? I can't say anything about entertainment, they were out of season. And they simply did not exist.

On the beach, first there is dark sand, then pebbles that go into the sea. The sea itself is the purest. I recommend taking beach shoes with you because walking on sand with bare feet is very hot, and it also hurts on pebbles. The two biggest problems of this beach are:
1. The absence of canopies with shade, in the shade you can hide only under the pines, umbrellas are also about nothing. There is a canopy made of slats, but it does not save from the scorching sun.
2. Beach smokers, from whom you get tired of running all over the beach or swearing with them because they just don't care about the surrounding children, non-smoking adults and the elderly, and this despite the fact that you can't smoke on the beach, but smokers and security staff don't care. So it is not always possible to breathe in the fragrant smell of Abkhazian pines.
There are benches on the promenade for smoking, but not all smokers go to smoke on these benches.
A nice little thing is a fountain with drinking water. By the way, the promenade is far from in the best condition, apparently it has been there since Soviet times.

There is no place better than Pitsunda in Abkhazia. The purest sea of emerald color, during the midday heat, everything fits in the pines directly on the needles (they do not prick, only it is softer to lie on them than on the stones). They don't even go to an air-conditioned room, they just sleep under the pines after lunch. Dolphins are in the sea all the time. If you don't see it, look the other way - they will definitely appear. By the way, you can safely swim in the sea without fear that you will be blown away by a jet ski or a sightseeing boat. In Gagra, this is a real disaster. And they don't get bored in Pitsunda. The whirlpool zone is somewhat frightening. But you just need to stay away from her. And I was also surprised by the absence of any rescuers, observation posts, etc. After all, this is a sea, a resort, especially near the whirlpool zone.

I don't know if we were so lucky, or if it's always like this, but the water in the sea was super clean and transparent, warm.
During our stay in Abkhazia, we visited the beaches of Sukhum, Gudauta and Pitsunda. Pitsunda is the best of them.
The beach itself is wide, located on the territory of the reserve (entrance fee is 50 rubles per person).
On the beach there are stalls with food and drinks, a Ferris wheel, sun beds, changing rooms, a shower.
In the evening, the sun creates a lot of shade.
The view is gorgeous, it's the sea, the mountains, and the pine forest)
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay on the beach, despite the fact that it is not very convenient to get there.
Unfortunately, the trouble is with the toilets on the territory, they are there, but they are terrible, there is nothing to breathe(

I have been going there since 2015, and I observe the utter degradation of this place. No one wants to invest, but to shave it off completely. Food -0 is not even sanatorium food, although we are going to a boarding house. When calculating 2800 per person in September, either the price should be lower or the level should be higher.
Half of the infrastructure facilities destroyed at the moment stand as monuments to the "good life".... It could at least be covered with some banners .....

Rooms: it would be possible to put a C, if there were not two mattresses on a double bed that lived their own lives... It is impossible to dry the laundry, eternal dampness in the bathroom, and a screaming garbage chute nearby.
