It is sad to see people without a place of residence near the station and inside it, who are mostly intoxicated and with an unpleasant smell. Inside there is an opportunity to buy something for the road, but unfortunately the trains are only suburban.
The train station is excellent and the shopping center is good, but the trains practically don't go anywhere anymore, oh yes, I went to Vilnius, they restored one route from the many Soviet ones. And yes, it was closed at night, which is also very convenient for passengers who arrived by night bus.
This station is not for people with suitcases, although all stations should be for travelers. To go down and climb with suitcases is a quest, there are no elevators, no escalator, steep high stairs to get out of the station and such to enter, you will not be able to bypass the eternal construction site, I have been driving there for 10 years and all 10 years are under repair...
A large train station, there are many shops and banks, as well as catering places, the transition to Origo, you can exit from the other side to the bus station.
An ordinary train station has ticket offices, a paid toilet, fast food outlets and souvenirs. The cashiers and most of the people working at the station are Russian speakers, so visitors from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus should not have communication problems.
The station is connected to a shopping complex that includes communication salons, currency exchange offices, various shops, including a large grocery store, several bank branches, cafes and fast food outlets, ticket offices for trains and commuter trains, as well as ticket offices of ferry companies.
You can easily find free WiFi. Toilets are paid.
The problem is with the number of seats and the public on them. But this is easily solved with the help of small cafes on the 2nd floor.
There are no language problems, almost everyone speaks Russian well.
The square in front of the station is also of great interest to guests of Riga, where thematic exhibitions about the history of Latvia, Riga and other historical events often take place. Sometimes a studio is set up there, from which live TV and radio broadcasts with famous presenters take place.
In general, an interesting place!
I love this place, the internal organization is well developed, it is very convenient to navigate and everything is as clear as possible.
The only depressing thing is the presence of strange people with drug and alcohol addiction.
The truth is pleasing that they are quite cute and completely non-aggressive
Nowadays it looks more like a shopping mall than a train station. There are many retail outlets. As always, it is clean, I have known this building since 1974, studied in Riga, my wife is from Riga.
A well-organized train station. While waiting for the train, you can wander around the shopping center or have a delicious meal in the numerous cafes. Not far from the old town. The station staff and cashiers are polite.
I did not put 5 because of drunken homeless people who feel very free at the station, begging, shouting, swearing. And no one is chasing them. On the other hand, it gives a flavor to the station)))
A good place, there are many hotels nearby for every budget. there are many cafes, kiosks inside, lots of shops nearby, Russian musicians always play in the tunnel.
At the railway station, you can sit in cafes (of which there are about ten), you can visit shops (if necessary). There is also a cafe, a shop and kiosks with a variety of goods in the passages. There is also a large grocery store "RIMI". In narvesen, you can purchase trips on public transport.
A very comfortable station building with ticket offices on the 1st floor, large information tables, various retail outlets and shops on two floors, bank branches, along the passages you can go both to the platforms and continue shopping at other shopping places or sit in numerous cafes.
A wonderful train station, many cafes and shops. But there are some comments:
1. There are very few places to wait for the train, there is practically nowhere to sit down. There are some kind of benches, but there are few of them, and they are located in an inconvenient place.
The station probably hasn't been expanded or rebuilt for a long time.
2. On the forecourt, near the smoking rooms, benches, (this territory exactly refers to the station as adjacent), not only homeless people and drunks climb and stick, but also a lot of scammers who almost forcibly try to sell toilet water and other rubbish.
In general, Riga left a super impression, but it was the forecourt that horrified.
The train station has always been very convenient before. But now it has become more beautiful, more comfortable. And it's just really nice to see all the changes. I think many people like it!
I'm not an ordinary person at first. But very quickly understandable in everything. There are many services and all kinds of details, the main thing is not like in Russia with horse valuables! Prices are like in the city.
Everything is fine, polite citizens of Riga! There is free Wi-Fi. It's a pity that there is a supermarket under reconstruction, I wanted to visit it, but probably next time!

The station building is quite large : it is partially closed for reconstruction, but at the same time all necessary services (ticket offices/ vending machines, cafes, kiosks, waiting room) are working as usual. Sending to Jurmala: always from the 3rd platform, this information is not on the scoreboard, but all residents of the city know this. Toilet fee is 0.30 euros, 24–hour luggage storage for a 20 kg suitcase is 4 euros. Shops and cafes with drinks - at a reasonable price. Obsolete tents and shops are located in the unrepaired part of the station. Our trip took place in February 2020. I believe that in February 2021 this review will partially lose its relevance. :)
It's all about the case. Clear. In the morning, there are homeless people and the public with an exit. The LIDO was recently opened. There is a large covered and well-organized parking lot below.
An interesting place. While staying at the station, there was a feeling that the Soviet spirit of the USSR remained only here) There is a whiff of Soviet bureaucracy here
An ordinary train station. There is a shopping center near the airport. And almost next to the old town. We traveled from Riga to Jurmala by train. 1.4 euros one way.

The staff are very polite and intelligibly explaining, the station itself is extremely simple, all questions were answered immediately at the first ticket office. There are a bunch of shops in the building to shop.

A good train station! There are very good cafes with excellent price/quality ratio and delicious food, excellent souvenir shops.
It is inconvenient to go out to the platforms with heavy luggage. Yes, and dragging him into the train from a low platform is still a thrill. And so it's good, the infrastructure is good, clean, safe
I can't say if the station is bad or good, but it performs its function, there are ticket offices, exit platforms. Shops with souvenirs and food. Normally
A small and understandable train station. Everything is fine in principle, but somehow a little rubbishy, not dirty, but somehow not pleasant. Such... in principle, the Russian railway station is typical.
The train station and a large shopping center, you can find practical everything you may need, the prices are absolutely standard

A small but not very well-organized train station. But in order to navigate properly, it is highly desirable to know Latvian: not everything is duplicated in English, the station staff usually do not know English.
In principle, the Soviet railway station, with an admixture of Europe, there are no stupid Russian enlightenments, a supermarket is attached, trains run every half hour, but not at night. But there is a fat minus ⁖ the station is closed at night, and if it's cold?
A pleasant European airport but with very rude staff. During the inspection, they cheated and were rude. What caused such aggressive behavior is not clear (((
Unfortunately, there are no trains at all, only a train to Moscow with trailer cars to St. Petersburg and a train to Kiev, and even short 4-car trains.
It became not a railway station, but a shopping center. The management doesn't give a shit about the platforms! The wrapper is a wrapper, there is no raisin, like before the clock, which was famous throughout the union)! And now, ugh, the station forecourt!

The city is good, the people are good, the market at the station is excellent, but everything is poor, as in the whole Baltic states.
It's all good. The trains arrive on time. People can tell you which peron the right train is on. The only thing is, I didn't fully figure out the ticket system, but this is already my mistake. And you can order a ticket online.
