A very diverse assortment of the market. Here you can find food products, in particular fruits, vegetables, oriental sweets, traditional bread, gifts, souvenirs, clothes, dishes, and everything in the national style, just a market for tourists so that they can buy gifts for relatives and friends. And the prices here are more reasonable compared to other places.
The bazaar is large, almost all the stalls are under canopies or in pavilions, trying to escape from the summer heat)) The assortment is diverse, they sell fresh vegetables and fruits, dried, dried, and cooked. There are cafes, different dishes, some delicious, and some for an amateur, they took one of the dishes - Uighur lagman, some spice was added there, in the form of a black pod, very specific, only spoils the whole taste. We bought samsa, with meat - beef (with lamb, there is tension in samsa here, too, as in Tashkent))), with potatoes, with pumpkin, with pumpkin, it has a very good and harmonious taste, we did not even expect that it turns out so well, and the salinity is in moderation!)) There are also many different national clothes, household goods, dishes, souvenirs, many things that you can see and choose, you can also bargain, but with some it is a normal process, and with individuals it is straight with a creak and great displeasure, you can not say that this is a Central Asian bazaar)) Surprisingly, in Samarkand there are postcards with views of historical monuments, but in Tashkent there are no such postcards, from the word at all, it is absent as a class))) Of course, there are only merchants in the bazaar again, there are significantly fewer buyers. Prices on average are about the same as in Tashkent. You can't find a toilet just like that, without navigation or requests, and not all cafes have it, and like in the whole of Uzbekistan they are with Gulkin's nose, and then they are mostly paid!
Siab Bazaar in Samarkand is just a magical place where you can plunge into the atmosphere of a real oriental market. Located in the center of the city, the bazaar pleases with its diversity and authenticity.
Here you will find everything you could wish for: from exquisite souvenirs and national clothes to fresh fruits and spices. Many merchants offer their goods, creating a unique atmosphere of trade and exchange of cultural values.
I was especially pleased that there are street money changers at the entrance to the bazaar, where you can easily exchange money at a favorable rate of $ 100 - 1250000 soums. It is convenient and saves time, allowing you to fully enjoy shopping.
Siab Bazaar is a place where every visitor can find something to their liking and take with them a piece of the oriental atmosphere. I highly recommend this bazaar to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the world of real oriental trade and see a wonderful combination of tradition and modernity.
There are many attractions worth visiting near the Siab Bazaar in Samarkand. Here are some of them:
1. Bibi Khanum: The famous Bibi Khanum Mosque, built in the XV century, is a short walk from the bazaar. This amazing architectural structure is considered one of the symbols of Samarkand.
2. Ulugbek stele: In honor of the famous scientist and ruler Ulugbek, a stele was erected, which is one of the oldest astronomical instruments in the world. It is also located next to the bazaar.
3. The historical center of Samarkand: Around the Siab bazaar there are many ancient streets, buildings and architectural monuments that are part of the historical center of the city of Samarkand.
4. Guri-Amir Mausoleum: The beautiful mausoleum where Timurid ruler Timur is buried is located a few kilometers from the bazaar.
5. Registan: One of the main attractions of Samarkand, the Registan architectural complex
After visiting the bazaar, you can easily combine it with a tour of other interesting places in the center of Samarkand.
One of the oldest food bazaars in Samarkand. According to peremitr, shops sell national clothes, tableware, textiles, souvenirs. There are many craft workshops. In the center there is an old teahouse with inexpensive and delicious cuisine.
The market itself is located on Islam Karimov pedestrian street in the center of the old city, next to the Bibi Khanum Mosque.
The largest selection of souvenirs, some cheaper, some more expensive. It is necessary to bargain for each position, the closing mirror with the inscription Samarkand has been lowered from 45,000 to 30,000. But in general, everything is expensive if you convert it into rubles, but there are very interesting things as souvenirs. There are a lot of imported fruits, they don't sell much of their own, but you can find them. Imported grapes 15,000 - 20,000 sums, local 7000 - 8000. A lot of changes, the course is starting to be offered at the rate of 1:120, the best is 1:128.
What is the worst is a lot of gypsy beggars. It's just a horror and they shake hands until you pay attention and leave.
In general, it is more of a grocery market with a lot of spices and sweets. The locals are very unhappy if they give you a try, but you refuse. So you can eat so much in an hour that you don't need lunch.
In general, you definitely need to go if you are going to Samarkand
One of the old food bazaars of Samarkand. According to peremitr, shops also sell national clothes, tableware, textiles, souvenirs. There are many craft workshops. There are several cafes on the territory of the bazaar where you can have a snack. The market itself is located on Islam Karimov pedestrian street in the city center. The opening hours of the bazaar are from 5 am to 19 pm.
It's a picturesque place. In the upper part of the bazaar, designed for tourists, everything is clean and tidy. There are no price tags. Prices are named according to the appearance and language of the buyer.
The lower part of the bazaar is dirty, and in some places it is just dirty. but they serve great pilaf and you can shop relatively inexpensively.
Oh yes, don't forget to try the freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. It is five times cheaper than in Istanbul.
It's cool to have a real bazaar, a collective farm market, large, for every taste, spices, vegetables, fruits, clothing rows, fabrics. Sweets & lots, sellers politely invite and treat, offer tea. You need to bargain when buying, they give in!)))
Very lively, delicious, you need to bargain, but... purely for sports interest - they will throw off a little, everyone is very friendly, they treat you a lot and give you a try, if you need to change money - just say a word - they will change, do not be afraid!
It is located in the very center of the city. While exploring all the sights, you can run into this market. I bought nuts, souvenir plates with dried fruits and apricot pits. I liked everything. The place is very picturesque, near the main attraction.
The location of the bazaar is very convenient. You leave the Registan ensemble to walk a little along a cozy alley. The market is large and diverse. Sellers bargain easily. I really liked it. We didn't leave without shopping.
A great bazaar. A huge selection. Cleanly, product ranges are convenient to choose and compare. The atmosphere is good, the sellers are unobtrusive. There is everything for every taste and purse. There are ATMs, a pharmacy, cafes. Money can be exchanged at money changers or directly from sellers. The course is profitable. Change can be given in any currency (ask in advance). You can buy everything you need, you can eat, you can just walk around and stare
A large market where they sell products, things and much more. There are also various cafes and tea houses. The prices for non-local sellers behind the counter are announced somewhere 2 times more expensive than for local ones. When bidding, they can partially throw it off. As for cafes, I recommend going to those where there is a menu with prices, and if there is no menu, then ask prices in advance, otherwise lunch will become more expensive than in a restaurant.
Siab market, one of the oldest markets in Samarkand. It is famous for having a large selection of dried fruits, nuts, oriental sweets and, of course, Samarkand flatbread. In the market, Tajik is mainly spoken and communicated with each other. When visiting the market, it is necessary to check the prices, for example, of the same dried fruits, in chain stores (Basket, Wholesaler), in order to avoid buying a particular product at inflated prices. The market is colorful, although it has been increasingly refined lately.
It's very atmospheric.Of course, this is no longer an ancient bazaar, but the atmosphere of the Oriental Bazaar is still there. A full-fledged assortment of the Uzbek market : dried fruits, fruits, vegetables, spices, souvenirs and much more.
We talked with the merchant, very interestingly, on any topic. Everyone speaks Russian.
clean, neat, calm, there are shopping malls with manufactured goods and electronics, which pleases. Beggars and beggars are not noticed. there is a teahouse on the territory, however, it is very slowly served.
Siab Bazaar is not just a market, it is a real symbol of Samarkand, where ancient traditions are intertwined with modernity. Here you will be greeted by an abundance of colors, scents and smiles of local merchants. You can find everything at the bazaar: from fresh fruits and vegetables to the famous Samarkand bread and fragrant spices. Each shop is a little story, and the sellers themselves are always ready to tell you about their product and treat you to a tasting. 🍎
A walk along the rows with oriental sweets brings special pleasure. Lokum, halva, apricots, dried berries and nuts are a real paradise for sweet tooths! And the famous Samarkand flatbreads baked in a tandoor will not leave anyone indifferent. Their aroma and taste are what you will want to take with you in memory of the city. 🥨
Siab Bazaar is also a cultural heritage. Located near the Bibi Khanum Mosque, it has been an important part of city life for centuries. The atmosphere of the bazaar still retains the spirit of oriental trade and hospitality.

A real oriental bazaar. There is everything here: fabrics and clothes, and food, and a tea house where you will be very well fed. And if desired, after haggling, you can buy EVERYTHING at pleasant prices...
An ordinary but authentic Samarkand market. There are a lot of nuts, oriental sweets and seasonings as in any large Uzbek market. The area is clean and pleasant aromas of spices, sweets and bread surround you everywhere
Everything is here 🤪
For every taste
Sweets
Greens
Fruit
Footwear
Clothes
Household Goods
For newborns
Everything is delicious and beautiful
And exactly
Eastern
Everything can be tried
And buy
A good market, lots of fruits, sweets, and souvenirs, prices are different, you can bargain, but the price for foreigners is increased, in general it is cheaper to buy everything in local shops or a supermarket, you noticed that the prices are lower.
Very cool! Almost like in Russia in the 90s. You can buy everything! A huge selection of meat, fruits, sweets, clothes and interior items. Everything, of course, has an oriental flavor.
A cool, authentic, beautiful place. There is a place to eat, there is something to buy and there is a place to walk. It has nothing to do with Samarkand. You can see the real Samarkand behind the barriers of this beautiful territory, where lawn sprinklers work and all the staff smiles at you.
We strongly recommend taking all souvenirs and textiles only here. We traveled around Tashkent and Bukhara, but the best prices and choice are here. Bidding is mandatory! They take both rubles and dollars at the normal exchange rate. So don't hesitate. The local real cuisine is also here. It is necessary to go to one of the entrances. There are several taverns in the rows. The cafe, which is delicious in the middle of the bazaar, but the prices are overpriced.
Food stalls must be visited in order to better understand the history and nature of the country. Sellers will be happy to tell you about the product, they will definitely offer to try (I do not advise, although it is tasty but unwashed), tea, fruits, nuts, pomegranate juice - the eyes run away from abundance. Be sure to bargain!
You can choose a lot of fruits and nuts at the market. There are also rows with local clothes and souvenirs. Everyone is willing to bargain, although there are also a lot of beggars, but there is not even a smell of cleanliness and order.
Siab market has long been famous for its oriental dried fruit shops, national handicraft products, fruits, vegetables and consumer goods, affordable prices. The market is ready to serve not only locals, but also tourists.
Prices on the market, as well as in Moscow in marketplaces for dried fruits and nuts, tortillas are beautiful but not tasty, seasonal fruits and in Moscow are inexpensive at some kind of food market, it is not reasonable to carry something, so take a snack for a day or two on the spot
This is generally a separate story. I have not yet met the most pleasant bazaar. Very clean, everything is so nice and beautifully laid out. The sellers are all very cheerful and friendly. If you walk around the center, be sure to come in, at least try everything. Sellers give you literally anything you ask to try. The main thing is to smile at them.
The choice of goods is good, some souvenirs are cheaper than in other places, but you need to bargain actively and skillfully here. In general, the price is reduced extremely reluctantly, both for food and spices, and for ceramics.
A good market! As in all markets, haggling is welcome and here it is a special kind of art and pleasure.
There are a lot of spices, dried fruits, fruits, vegetables, sweets and nuts of all kinds. Everything is fresh, locally produced. Teas and tea collections, herbs. Everything can be tasted, smelled and felt. (You can write a separate article on this topic, so it's delicious and fragrant, melts in your mouth).
Everything in the cafe on the market is very tasty and inexpensive. We ate local pilaf (delicious and portions are enough for two), salad, lamb kebab (without fat and a full skewer, soft and juicy), shurpa with beef is just a fairy tale.
Glasses: you can buy them with the effect of polarization (and check them there), of normal quality, good models, reasonable prices. It is difficult for tourists to get used to without sunglasses in summer.
Things: there are few natural fabrics in summer dresses, mainly synthetics and viscose, there is no cotton, they give out some kind of synthetics with an embossed linen pattern per day and the cost for the fabric is overestimated, the tailoring is privately substandard. Natural fabrics are only in warm clothes, quilted things (jackets, etc.), shoppers (shopping bags with drawings of Samarkand and Uzbekistan) .
There are shops for brides, there are jewelry, accessories, beads, earrings, pendants, fabrics and ready-made national dresses and jewelry.
Everyone has found products to suit their taste! I recommend visiting it without fail!
A huge bazaar, we haven't been to it for a long time. You can buy a lot of things! I liked the prices and the assortment. True, few people speak Russian, but we were lucky when we bought melons, there was a local family nearby, they were happy to help us choose a melon themselves and also beat out a discount from the seller.
We didn't notice any special color. Yes, it's huge. But there are a lot of Chinese consumer goods.and it was the local goods that I wanted. We were impressed- the greedy rows! That's where it's really unusual.and, by the way, it's pretty tasty)
A wonderful Oriental bazaar, an abundance of goods, adequate prices, colorful national outfits, friendly and unobtrusive sellers. There is a "gluttonous row" where national dishes are cooked in huge cauldrons and you can have a delicious lunch outdoors.
Clean, safe. The choice is very large. Each type of product has its own zone - dried fruits and nuts separately, souvenirs separately, olezhda separately, etc. On the market you can find money changers with a good exchange rate. It is necessary to bargain, and with sellers, and with money changers too. Some sellers accept payment by card number - it is convenient to transfer money from a Russian card using a Golden Crown.
Of course, I respect the fact that the bazaar at this place has existed for many hundreds of years, but personally it seemed to me nothing particularly remarkable. The range of goods is common for Uzbekistan and clearly "sharpened" for tourists (hence the obviously inflated price tag for everything and everything), and the market itself is quite modern.
So I don't see any point in going here on purpose, but if you need to pass the time somehow, being near the Bibi Khanum mosque, then you can go in and take a look.
A great and cheap market. Conveniently located. All kinds of nuts are very tasty and fresh, everything can and should be tasted. I bought 3 kg of delicious pistachios in Moscow, a bunch of different fresh spices, and I was especially pleased with the local red paprika. I bought a lot of excellent green tea of different varieties by weight, too. Everything was sold of excellent quality, no one slipped anything bad, did not weigh it (outweighed it at the hotel, there is an electronic exchange). Very good fruits in season, I bought and ate at the hotel. A tourist is required to visit for gastronomic purposes. There are also clothes, dishes, souvenirs.
Perhaps the largest bazaar in the city, where you can feel the atmosphere of a real oriental bazaar. A large selection of various products, products, clothes, souvenirs and all sorts of things for every taste and pocket.
This bazaar from the main entrance is only for tourists!! The prices there are for tourists. The local market starts elsewhere - find it. All prices that you will see here in other places will be 2-3 times cheaper. Sellers are very aggressive (I know what the market is and how they sell there), but here you will feel their aggression and their complete lack of interest in selling you what you need.
A good bazaar. We bought spices for pilaf, tea with thyme and even a women's suit made of fine cotton and a silk dressing gown. I really liked these clothes, I wear them with pleasure.
