The ancient city of Side is a must-visit, colorful for lovers of antiquity and wonderful for those who like to walk. There is a large parking lot at the entrance. We recommend walking there (~ 15 min.) to the center of the old town, and back to buy a ticket for cars (small cars with 5-6 seats). The ruins are impressive, especially the huge amphitheater (they did not go inside, since 17 euros per person) and the temple of Apollo. Walking through the streets of ancient Side is a pleasure, small stone houses, cafes, shops.
I definitely recommend you to visit. Many objects are under restoration, but you won't waste your time. Very cozy promenade, colorful streets. There are many places for insta-photos. I did not take excursions, as there is a detailed description of each attraction on the Internet. It is easy to get there by taxi and public transport. A taxi from the hotel costs both ways with an expectation of $ 50. And when you get to the bus stop, the taxi drivers stop themselves and offer to take you both ways for $ 20. So if you have 3-4 people, then it's easier to take a taxi, of course. Buses run frequently. I was driving from the village of Kyzyl-gach to Manavgat and there at the bus station I transferred to the bus to Side, which goes exactly to the Ancient city. The fare is 1 dollar or 1 euro or 35 lira. As a result, I spent $4 with transfers.
An atmospheric place! As a lover of the history of the ancient world, I really liked it here. A good place for walking, you can go shopping and just sit on the beach.
It can be seen that the ancient ruins are in good condition, restoration work does not stop, there were many workers in February 2023. Definitely, even if you are passing through Manavgat, it is worth stopping here and touching the history!
The beautiful old part of the city, beautiful streets, stunning views of the sea and streets. Any place is a background for a photo shoot. There are many cafes, restaurants, shops. We were in July, it's very hot, so it's better to go early in the morning or evening. There is a bus station nearby, the drivers will tell you how to get there, where to go back. Minibuses (dolmushi) run frequently.
It is an exclusively tourist place, it was made beautifully, it is pleasant to walk, there is something to look at and where to take a photo. Catering, of course, is much more expensive than a couple of blocks from this place. As for "antiquity" and "antiquity". It's basically a new model. the free "old thing" is extremely poorly maintained and dirty. And the fact that it has been renovated and you really want to see, for example, the amphitheater, is too big a difference in the cost of visiting for Tourists. I think it is unreasonably expensive.
It's a masterpiece.
A must-visit.
The self-guided tour will take about 2 hours.
Everything is free.
Don't get lost.
All bus routes stop near the beginning of the tour, the price of the bus along the Side to the museum starts from 1-2 euros.
Travel by electric car along the entire museum of the ancient city is 15 liras (45 rubles).
It is better to go in the evening, capture the sunset, then turn on the illumination of all the objects of the museum - it is very beautiful.
I recommend 100%.
Friends, if you like or my review helped, please like and or subscribe to my reviews, thereby you will help me to continue to develop and be useful to you.
A good place to walk, quiet streets, you can look at the details, the interior is very beautiful, just turning off the main street, walking not in a crowd, I really liked it. There are many cafes, you can choose and take a break. Almost everywhere they speak Russian, you can ask and clarify.
I recommend you to take a walk - you will like it.
A very beautiful place, built by the Roman Empire back in the 7th century BC.
We came with an excursion from Coral. The only thing I didn't like was that everyone jumped in and had already left. We did not reach the temple of Apollo, as we saw many shops with bracelets, Turkish sweets and souvenirs, everything is very cheap compared to the shops in the hotel. We bought gifts for our relatives.
And we also advise you to try pomegranate beer, very tasty, sweet and sour, but in principle, almost everyone managed to see even the Turkish wedding.
We will definitely come back here ourselves without an excursion, we were impressed😍
Oh, this is a masterpiece place. There is no limit to the delight. It was the first time, but I will definitely come again. A huge well-preserved city with an amphitheater and many other buildings, where you can wander for hours absolutely for free. It was a very cool walk.
It is pleasant to walk in the evening, admiring the lively street with many shops, eateries with tourists and sea views. The scale of the ancient city with scattered historical elements of structures over a large area of the tourist route is impressive.
It's an amazing place. You can wander around the old town. To see and touch the past. Most of the objects are currently under restoration. A very beautiful promenade. You can sit in cafes that are represented in large numbers.
I recommend a self-examination. They were in 2019 and in 2024. Turnstiles have been installed at the entrance to the ancient ruins. Admission is 20 euros (very expensive for a small number of column remains). We went on and at the very end of the ruins (near the sea) there was another entrance, already without turnstiles (or had not yet had time to install) We went in there and took a walk. You can explore the ruins of the library and the square for 30 minutes. Then walk to the temple of Apollo for free (it is very good to take pictures at sunset). There is a beach. Two sun beds with an umbrella of 100 liras in June 2024. Prices in the cafe are certainly high in the 2024 season (at least 1000 - 2000 rubles per person), I warn you - the portions are large, take one serving for two. It is easy to get there on your own. For vacationers in Alanya, you can get from the terminal dolmusha, which is located next to Waikikki (ask dolmush Manavgat) you will be prompted. For tourists from Konakli, Avsallar, and Injekum hotels, get on the highway towards Antalya airport and wave at dolmush with the Manavgat sign. To get to Manavgat (passage Alanya - Manavgat in June 2024 cost 115 turks.liras per person in one direction), at the final otogar Manavgat, transfer to dolmush Antique Side (travel 25 tour.liras), drive 30min. From the terminal, you can walk to the old town in 25 minutes, you can take a train or taxi. I recommend it to anyone who loves historical architecture and good photos. Children under 12 years old will obviously not be interested there, do not torment them, leave them at the hotel
There are more traces of the history of Ancient Greece and Rome in Turkey than in Greece or Italy. Side is a very interesting monument, the achievements of modern archaeology help to literally touch the history. You can see everything in a day, or you can come back every day, you won't get bored. I can't recommend my own hotel, impolite reception at j'adore de lux and no suite.
The meeting from Pegas is also worthless, I do not recommend their tours. But while staying at a hotel near Side, you can use local transport-dolmush and explore the antiquities yourself. The traces of the ancient city, the history in stone, the views of Side at sunset and dawn made the trip memorable and vivid.
I really liked it, despite the intense heat. I would love to come back again in a cooler time to enjoy this nature, beautiful landscapes and historical sites, sit in cafes, walk along the embankment and swim in the sea. Super!
A beautiful historical place, you can walk along the embankment and the port nearby, sit in a cafe and buy everything your heart desires, spend the sunset with a delicious drink in your hand
A beautiful historical place where you can have a good shopping, eat and have a good time. You can take a walk and have a good time during the whole day. It's very atmospheric in the evening
Of course, you need to visit - one of the best apparently preserved towns with a large number of buildings.
Everything is interesting - the colonnades, the agora, the city gates, etc.
It is worth visiting the existing shopping streets.
We were in the Ancient city on an excursion. I really liked it. Of course, you can visit this place yourself, but there was more information with the guide. It was our first time. And I think this is the right way to visit for the first time. And next time, already knowing what to visit, where to stay longer, take a walk, you can do it yourself
Of the advantages: from the point of view of the history of architecture, there is something to look at and reflect on the eternal..
They charge $ 17 to enter the history, but after the takers close their shops in the evening, tourists allow themselves to pass for free.
Among the disadvantages: there is no high-quality architectural illumination; a system of trails and paths with which you can estimate volumes from different viewpoints; architectural details lie / stand systemically. The territory also needs to be cleaned of garbage.
The biggest disadvantage is the citywide systems - lanterns and trash cans are in no way connected with these historical objects. In order to take a photo, you have to bend over and pick an angle so that you can't see the protruding street lights of a very prosaic appearance...
There is something to see. The Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater (for a fee), a small pretty promenade, a port, a clean Mediterranean Sea. But mostly souvenir stalls, it's a little annoying.
There is a place to wander in the evening. An amphitheater, Roman ruins, a newly built old town. And the sea, of course. There are a lot of our People, as everywhere in Turkey. But if Antalya is more of a Russian resort, then Side is a German one. This is neither good nor bad.
The ancient city of Side is what you need to visit when traveling to the Antalya coast, it is very beautiful, a lot of interesting things have been preserved since ancient times! I recommend an excursion to this place! :)
this is love, as if you are entering another world, unforgettable beauty, if you walk a little further away, you can get to the most beautiful embankment, from where stunning views open, there are also a huge number of cafes and shops in this place, the price tag is absolutely not too high, but on the contrary it is very pleasing
A beautiful place by the sea, you can take beautiful photos, feel the spirit of history. You can go on a guided tour if you are a fan of new knowledge)
It was enough for us to read the information about this place on the web and walk at our own pace without a guide and a group!
The ancient city of Side on the seashore. It is very interesting to look at the ancient buildings. You can explore by yourself, or with a guide. The ruins of the city are located on a large territory.
a gorgeous place to walk, I want to peer into every pebble, every window of authentic houses, into these beautiful horizons. A place with a great history!!
I have long dreamed of visiting this place. And so in May 2024, the dream came true. There are a lot of impressions. I touched the Ancient history. We walked by ourselves, without a guide. We looked at the ancient streets, the market, the fountain, the temple of Apollo. Private houses on the territory of the city were built in such a way that the antiquity was visible. Russian Russian visitors There is one wish that the signs should have a description not only in Turkish and English, but also in Russian, because there are a lot of Russian visitors. And if you go with a group, then expect that you will need to run fast to see everything. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Atmospheric, informative, but very hot. Take more water with you and be sure to cover your head from the sun. You can walk a lot, the daytime walls and structures stretch far, but the sun is very bright.
It is beautiful, monumental, but there are a lot of all kinds of construction foxes and construction equipment, I would like to visit again in the evening. To see how it all looks with the backlight.
It is a very beautiful and majestic place, admission is free. It is located in a beautiful location on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Fans of "Knock on my door must visit."
A very cool place, the ancient city turns into the port of
Side. There are a lot of shops, cafes, a lot of tourists. Immerse yourself in history and feel like in the past centuries.
If you are vacationing in Alanya or Antalya, I recommend visiting this beautiful city, where the beauty of the ancient history of the Romans has been preserved and maintained. The old town with numerous buildings BC, where you can touch the history. There are many restaurants, one of them I really like, it's called Karma. With a beautiful view and delicious cuisine. I am attaching a photo of my walk through this unforgettable city. I would also like to add that the city is no less beautiful in the evening!
An excellent ancient city, of course ruins in places, but they are being restored. You can get there by train from the old town bus station, walk back on foot.
The amphitheater is a preserved landmark of the ancient city. Entrance is paid. The cost is 15 euros. But everything you see from the outside is the same inside. The only difference is that you can go down, take a photo on the steps. There is nothing to do there for more than 15 euros.
A must-visit! The ruins are over 1900 years old! The story itself! You can see everything while walking along the park. The territory is fenced and not allowed inside. You can visit the amphitheater, but $17 can be spent with more benefit.
A very interesting place, there is something to see, we reached the temple of Apollo. This is the story.I went on an excursion, the guide Mustafa. You can get back by train. If you love history, you will not regret it
Interesting. There are a lot of people.
Most of the territory is fenced and inaccessible.
The nympheum is luxurious.
The amphitheater is interesting. Especially look at the collapsed retaining walls behind him. The arched structure of the stands is visible there, and different materials for the main walls and retaining walls. Apparently, the retaining walls were added later.
It's a great place! The beauty is off the scale. The vast territory of the ancient city is "breathtaking"! But there is too much garbage, in the form of plastic and cigarette butts. You just have to ignore it)
A historical place, very beautiful. Some antiquities have been restored, it is wonderful that the Turkish authorities do not abandon, but on the contrary restore the architecture of the ancient world.
There is something to see, just went with my wife to look at the ruins, a lot of cats hanging out, gorgeous views of the sea (tourists order even the ancient walls), in short, you can wander around to take a look
The ancient city of Side, with a rich history.
Around the sights that remained after the Roman Empire - the Amphitheater, the Temple of Apollo and Aphrodite, Columns, Hospital, Gates.
It's nice to sit on the embankment with a cup of coffee after a walk.
There are many restaurants around where you can have lunch or dinner. It is definitely recommended to visit! 👍
Touching the history of ancient Rome and ancient Greece is always an amazing pleasure!
But alas... the Turks decided to fence everything off and let us go for crazy euros dollars where we used to walk every year having fun
And now we only look over the fence)))
A beautiful place, the atmosphere of antiquity, now in 2024 restoration is almost everywhere, I advise you to put on a headdress, smear your face with spf, take more water, the prices are more or less adequate (for drinks), it was very very hot, but insanely beautiful, I advise you just to come by car or by bus, but the tour is better Don't take it
It is interesting to visit the atmosphere of antiquity, but the whole impression of what you saw is spoiled by modern technology, nets and much worse plastic chairs, instructions, apparently, by workers. Well, the price is 17 euros for the museum and the arena, but the museum is under reconstruction, so 17 euros, I think, is too expensive for one location
It is very beautiful and atmospheric, we were in the morning around 9 o'clock, at this time there are still very few tourists, so it turned out to take a quiet walk and take beautiful photos and videos)))
It's a very beautiful place. It's just a pity that Pegasus is brought there for an hour, there just isn't enough time to watch, everyone is running. But at the olive oil museum, where they offer a bottle of oil for 10,000 rubles, they give plenty of time. I will definitely return to these architectural monuments again.
An amazing place with a magnificent view of the sea! It is better to come in the morning, then it is not too hot, and there are few people. There is a place to walk and eat here.
An interesting place, one feels a little old, of the minuses, the accessible environment is not very developed, with a child in a stroller it is impossible to reach part of the ruins, and the main disadvantage is greedy taxi drivers focused on Euro tourists and the same prices
