A very pleasant place in all respects. Beautiful landscape design. Quiet, prayer-inspiring temples. Icons of ancient writing. The nuns are very accommodating, ready to help, explain. They read the never-ending psalter. There is a grocery store of the monastery compound and other goods. Fish shop. Clothing store. Kvass is very tasty. The parking lot is large for cars.
Be sure to come to this monastery. It is extremely cozy and bright here. This monastery was founded by the Holy Princess Euphrosyne of Polotsk in 1125. It is here that the oldest temple in Polotsk is located - the Transfiguration Church, built in the middle of the XII century. (The church is currently under restoration, but in 2025 it will be available to believers). The relics of Saint Euphrosyne are kept in the main cathedral and believers have the opportunity to venerate and pray to them. If you travel to Polotsk, then take the time to visit this monastery with a very interesting and difficult history. If you do not visit here, then consider that you have not felt the spirit of ancient Polotsk.
An incomparable sacred place, many tourists and pilgrims, a special atmosphere in the church, well-groomed and beautiful territory. I recommend you to visit. I really liked it!
A beautiful monastery, which is being rebuilt and put in wonderful order by the efforts of the sisters and Mother abbess. It is very sincere and beautiful. I strongly advise you to visit☝️
It always feels light and easy on the territory of the monastery. There is a favorite cafe nearby where you can buy herbal tea and delicious homemade pastries
One of the oldest monasteries in Russia. It was founded in the first half of the 12th century by St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk. A great Orthodox Shrine. The monastery has preserved the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord built by the Monk. Inside this church you can see frescoes of the 12th century - the most fully preserved ensemble of ancient Russian monumental painting of this time in the world.
The most famous monastery in Belarus. A historical place. In the Holy Cross Cathedral (1893-97) - a shrine with the relics of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk. The monastery itself was founded by the saint in 1127. There is a big reconstruction in the monastery. The Transfiguration Church is closed even externally, but the frescoes (the first two layers before the 12th century) can be seen in the Polotsk Art Museum.
Well, this is the place where one of the oldest (if not the oldest) buildings in the country has been preserved - 1150 about the year of construction. This is a place where you can buy tooth-crushing crackers or tea drinks at a very low price.
This is a place where you will probably have to change from summer clothes to more closed types.
This is a place where there is no time.
This is a place where people believe and believe, and live by Faith and service.
It may be expensive here, it may not be very bright, but it is quiet and peaceful. Here the relics of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk await requests and prayers. Here, in the ancient temple, restorers remove layer after layer of wall paintings, which are then transported and stored in the local art museum.
A beautiful monastery, there are tents and skirts for women at the entrance. Inside the relics of Euphrosyne of Polotsk. Everything is very well maintained. It is worth visiting regardless of whether you are a believer or not.
A place of peace! A small, neat, beautiful and original monastery. The oldest temple is under restoration - it will be a reason to come again. The temple is very beautifully decorated, where the cancer with the relics, it's a pity you can't take pictures inside. You can also pay in Russian rubles in cash at the monastery shop.
A wonderful place, magnificent temple architecture, I arrived in a wonderful mood, but...
I went to write notes about my health and repose and received a wild portion of negativity from the woman who received them. Firstly, I listened about my church stupidity, and secondly, this woman's attitude towards Russians is extremely negative. I received a recommendation to defend the service and thus, there is a chance that the Lord God will give me brains. I'm shocked!!!!
Plus, being an architect by profession, I asked how long the temple complex had been rebuilt and in response I heard that the architecture of the monastery had been in a ruined state for a long time due to the fact that Belarus was in the occupation of the USSR.
I'm shocked!!!
Well, this same woman did not give me the change and generally behaved rudely!
"Only for cash payment. Cards are not accepted." There is a manastyr cafe near the monastery. There you can buy lean gingerbread (there are other flavors) that are made in manastyr and you can buy herbal tea and try it instead. Thereby feed your apic. The prices are average. Gingerbread is delicious.
I liked everything. it is beautiful, well-maintained, there is a cafe with reasonable prices at the entrance, you can buy monastic honey there, there is a shop, there are more souvenirs and products of the monastery, honey, herbs, balms, etc
It was very interesting to visit. A lot of people come here. There are miraculous icons. It was interesting to see how the nuns live. I recommend it to everyone to visit!
A well-maintained monastery in all respects. It's a very beautiful place. Hotel, refectory, shops. But in fact, it is a monastery, a serious thing created for prayer. I recommend.
A holy place of prayer. A place of rest for Saint Euphrosyne and peace for visitors. Friendly sisters. Everything is well maintained and beautiful. In my opinion, this is the heart of the Belarusian land. I will be happy to come again. To bow to Euphrosyne and all the inhabitants of the monastery.
An interesting history of the monastery. Be sure to buy a tour, the guides tell you very interestingly. You can venerate the relics of Euphrosyne of Polotsk.
This is my love for always. The cleanest church, the most friendly nuns.
This is a place of power.
Do not pass by the cafe, there is a very decent drink there.
A beautiful monastery, in a beautiful place. The place is historical. On the territory of the monastery there is a 12th-century temple with very interesting historical paintings.
An ancient monastery. There are the ashes of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, the patroness of all women, and her famous cross. A lot of women probably go with their problems. A place that must be visited.
We touched such a special one! The ancient icon impressed me. The nuns are friendly, humble and smiling. It will remain in the memory! We are grateful for the preservation of faith!
I remember this monastery from my childhood. There are always joyful faces of the monastic sisters, friendly priests, parishioners who are dedicated to prayer. It's good that there are such places in our country. We thank those people who contribute to the restoration of churches. The oldest monument of Orthodox architecture in White Russia. Calm, clean, focused and prayerful. Strict rules, modesty of life, unity with the Lord, beautiful divine services
It was very interesting. The novice Lyudmila accompanied the monastery, who impressed with her knowledge and positive thinking. I was delighted. God bless her!!!
I've been there many times. A very spiritual place heals the soul, a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The staff does not bother about empty rooms, the clergy and nuns do not bother either. There is a sense of freedom within the limits of what is acceptable. 🙂😁👹
I liked everything, except for the cost of services. A simple note of 500 Russian rubles (in Russia, a simple note of 100 rubles). Candles are also very expensive from 4 Belarusian rubles. As a result, I gave 2,000 Russian rubles for four simple notes and three of the cheapest thin candles))))
One of the most ancient monasteries. It is very beautiful, the icons are very beautiful, the whole decoration is impressive. The city is generally the oldest. Only this monastery and St. Sophia Cathedral have been preserved. A good aura. It's a nice town. I recommend you to visit.
On the territory, as in Pechora, in headscarves and skirts, otherwise they are not allowed. There is Parking nearby-for those who drive a car. Beautiful, well-groomed. If you like such places, I recommend it.
The monastery has an atmosphere of love, hospitality and spirituality. You can always pray and worship the shrine with the relics of St. Euphrosyne Abbess of Polotsk. Those who wish to stay in the monastery for a few days can stay in the monastery hotel.
A beautiful, well-maintained place!! Everything is very clean!! The beautiful temple and surroundings!! I recommend you to visit. Adygea says Thank you for such beauty!!
Imba for trips to school will go there with school children there in general, they are really expensive there, you can even buy candles there for Russian rubles and there, for example, candles that we have there, they have 20 Russian rubles there, so they recommend going there
A well-maintained place filled with people, excursions are organized for groups...employees of the monastery..of the cons.. the groups are large and hard to hear...
A beautiful monastery. They are actively doing repairs. It is light, spacious, and spiritual inside. Very beautiful gardens, close to Polotsk. The history is huge, there are many pilgrims.
Our pride, the monastery of Euphrosyne of Polotsk. Construction work is underway now. A huge Refectory is being built, so there are some inconveniences when moving to the monastery. As it is, everything is fine.
A very interesting excursion was from the monastery's excursion service!
The monastery is well maintained, beautiful, has a rich history and many shrines! I recommend that you definitely visit!
It's a wonderful place. Pacification. I also want to express my gratitude to my mother for the ointment bought in the monastery. It helped the first time.
A holy, blessed place. The ancient monastery, the cradle of Christianity in Vitebsk land.
For believers it is a joy, for a traveler it is a monument of ancient architecture, unique frescoes, and history.
A small cozy territory on which are located: Holy Cross Cathedral (1893-97) in the neo-Byzantine style, the old-headed white stone church, the winter church of St. Euphrosyne (1847). The cathedral contains the relics of Saint Euphrosyne, who is considered the patroness of Belarus. The monastery itself was founded by the saint in 1127. Euphrosyne died in Jerusalem during a pilgrimage.
We plunged into another world, attended one evening and two morning services. We learned a lot of interesting things. We spent the night in a guest house at the monastery.
One of the oldest monasteries in our territory. The spirit of the times, silence and white walls. Peace in all its glory. It would seem that Belarus... But no, there is something to see.
The monastery of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk is a miracle. Everything is equipped and clean. Services - every day, wonderful singing and reading. I advise everyone to visit, especially with family.
The monastery is wonderful !! Founded by St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk (12th century) !! She is an amazing, educated woman of her era! Her relics reside in the monastery she founded. The monastery also has the Transfiguration Church, which has unique frescoes of the 12th century (now closed for repairs). The monastery is active, friendly sisters, cafes. A pleasant place !!
A holy and blissful place. A beautiful monastery, well-groomed territory, blooming magnolia. A young nun enthusiastically talks about the history of the monastery.
To create such a monastery, to invite Constantinople masters - this is only possible for a talented and authoritative woman. Euphrosyne is undoubtedly a businesswoman of her time! It is a pity that the restoration of the frescoes has been going on for so long, the cathedral has been closed to visitors for several years.
