The central square of Istanbul, where some mass events always take place, is not the best place, it is better to stay away. From this square, go out onto Istiklal Street. There are a lot of people everywhere🙈
The famous square of Istanbul.
There is a monument in honor of the fifth anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Turkey. Before that, the country was ruled by sultans.
Here is the final station of the retro tram, which goes further along Istiklal Street, also full of attractions.
The square, the central part of Istanbul. It is very beautiful, shops, hotels, a place of mass celebrations. Whichever way you go, it's interesting everywhere and there's something to see. I recommend.
Landmark, monument on the square, near the mosque. Very interesting. They also sell "simit"- bagels, chestnuts, corn. Doner shawarma, well, actually a standard set)) Istiklal originates from here.
The square itself is just a square, but there are great interesting streets from it, where there is something to see, take a walk, have a snack and just go shopping
A lively place + adjacent Istiklal Avenue. Life is in full swing here: merchants of simites, deneries right on the street, cafes with tables on the street and terraces, pigeons with gypsies (who offer to buy seeds for birds for epic photos) and, of course, the symbol of Taksim - the monument to Ataturk.
you can go for a walk, but not on the first of May
everything is cordoned off by the police. There is no place to walk where it is completely uncomfortable
A fairly large square in the center of Istanbul. All kinds of demonstrations are often held here. There is an exit from the metro station of the same name. In the center stands the monument "Republic" with Voroshilov and Frunze, installed in 1928. Taksim was once an Armenian district. It is convenient to walk from here to the famous Istiklal Street.
Not bad apparts. Air conditioning, refrigerator. The only thing that bothered me was the extremely dirty floor! We tried in vain to wash it, it didn't work out. I had to wash my feet before going outside...
An unremarkable square, well, except that there are clusters of tourists here.
It's not interesting to look at her. Just a geographical point for tourists with inadequately high prices.
There is nothing special there - this is the final point of the walking route along the local "Arbat" ...
I remember, in the shawarmyatna at the end of the street, they cheated me by 10 lira :)
Keep an eye on the change.
To tell the truth, there are conflicting impressions. It seems to be beautiful, but it is very dirty and very noisy, especially at night. Screams, screams, noise, and uproar can be heard almost all night. This is the so-called center of Istanbul's nightlife. There are a lot of homeless people, refugees, beggars. Everything is dirty and spat on. However, in the morning they begin to clean and put in order. And so it is every day. There are a lot of women with reduced social responsibility, as they say now. Most of them are scary, like the morning of a nuclear winter. In short, a colorful place. The only thing is that Istiklal Street originates from this square. I liked her a lot more. A favorite place for tourists. By the way, the Russian Consulate is also located on Istiklal.
