The Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslaus and Wojtek (as its full name sounds) is one of the most famous and most beautiful classical Gothic monuments in Europe, an active Catholic cathedral with an organ hall and an observation deck on one of the towers. It is located in Prague Castle and is the residence of the Archbishop of Prague.
The cathedral was built over several centuries, starting in the middle of the 14th century. Today, this architectural masterpiece is the pride and symbol of the Czech capital. To visit Prague and not visit St. Vitus Cathedral is just as unnatural as to visit Moscow and not visit Red Square.
Great dating experience! Great acoustics, fancy interior decoration. But the views from the 100-meter observation deck after climbing the narrow spiral staircase are especially catchy. Prague is in full view.
An unforgettable experience!
St. Vitus Cathedral is impressive! A masterpiece of Gothic architecture and a symbol of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Located on the territory of Prague Castle, it serves as the residence for the Archbishop of Prague.
It is visible from almost any point of the city. You can go up to the observation deck.
St. Vitus Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. This architectural monument traces its history back to 1344. Located on the territory of Prague Castle, today it serves as the residence for the Archbishop of Prague. It is difficult to describe in words the grandeur and beauty of this building.
In the main part of the cathedral, above the altar, you can see a gallery of sculptures of the founders of the church and its first builders — for example, a bust of Charles IV, masters Peter Parlerge and Mathieu from Arras, who were buried in the walls of the building, Prague archbishops and other important persons of the state and architects. Stone carvings adorn the majestic facades of the cathedral, and above the portal of its southern facade you can see the earliest surviving Czech mosaics called the Last Judgment.
This is an absolutely fantastic building, which is impossible not to visit while in Prague. Few cathedrals can compare with it. You can walk and admire the whole day. In general, it is better to simply go around at first, and the second time - by looking at the details of the decorations of the pulpit or the patterns on the gates.
Incredibly beautiful! You can stand for a long time and look at the details from all sides of the building and it will always be very beautiful.
We got inside, stood in a huge queue and it was worth it. If you want to visit inside, you should come early in the morning. Outside, you can also fully enjoy the view and have fun. There is a post office opposite the main entrance, from where you can send a letter or postcard.
St. Vitus Cathedral is a monumental, I would say, grandiose structure. Since it was built for several centuries, each generation contributed something of its own to the architecture, it looks different from different sides. The temple seems immense. Personally, I have the same impression. The main shrines that the Russian Orthodox Church honors are, of course, the relics of St. Vitus, the Head of St. Lyudmila, the relics of St. Vyacheslav. The head of Lyudmila is kept in a special ark, and it is taken out for worship on St. Lyudmila's day. Her whole body resides in the Basilica of St. Jiri.
St. Vitus of Rome became famous during his earthly life for healing from various diseases and for bringing pagans to the Christian faith. He suffered under Diakletian. Saint Lyudmila also Christianized pagan Bohemia, meeting fierce resistance and suffered a martyrdom from pagans. These Saints suffered persecution for their faith, but now their power and glory are great!
Glory to the great Saints, our examples in the steadfastness of faith!
It's a very impressive building. Every tourist is obliged to visit here - otherwise you would not have been in Prague. The pearl of European Gothic. Many prominent figures of the Czech Republic are buried here. It began to be built in 1344 and was completed only in the twentieth century.
The cathedral can be greatly admired for its massiveness and detail. "How many Quasimodes were spent on its construction..." is a vivid example of the Gothic style of Catholic buildings. I strongly recommend you to visit.
The cathedral made an amazing impression on me - I admired it for a long time.
There is a post office nearby, where I bought postcards with his image, among others.
It is located in Prague Castle, an ancient district of Prague, and it does not work to take a picture to enter it entirely.
It is open to the public and packed with tourists.
A Gothic cathedral with the finest execution of stone figures.
There are very beautiful stained glass windows on the inside.

I was in this cathedral a long time ago in 1995, I was shocked by the beauty of the Gothic style, beautiful stained glass windows, the atmosphere of inner peace and exciting joy.
Yesterday was the memorial day of Vyacheslav Chesky, the founder of this cathedral.
We didn't get inside the cathedral because there was some kind of official government event. But there is no particular frustration about this. Because a huge number of tourists is not what you need to visit the temple. And there are too many tourists in Prague Castle everywhere.
But at the same time, the architecture of the cathedral is impeccable!
