The church is located in a very picturesque place surrounded by mountains. The beauty takes your breath away. Magnificent views of Stepantsminda. You can get water from the spring, water the horses. I recommend everyone to visit this place and feel this charm and power of nature!
The road is good, paved. You can easily get there by car, there is a parking lot upstairs.
If you are in Tbilisi, be sure to visit this place. After several days of hiking in the mountains, nothing seemed to surprise me. But when I came here, I was just stunned by this beauty. No photo will convey this. In addition, this is also the scene of Lermontov's poem Mtsyri "... merging like two sisters, the streams of Aragvi and Kura ...", "... there was a monastery..."Everything is in place
The church is located in a very picturesque place. There are several hiking trails. For example, you can climb through the forest, and go down the valley with a view of the Gergeti tower. Unfortunately, most people go there by car. There are a lot of them there during the season. The view of the church is spoiled by an incomprehensible parking nearby, where no one puts cars, and everyone goes to the church itself, further spoiling the view.
An incredible and picturesque place!
Let's start with the path: there are no problems, and the navigator knows perfectly well, and there are clear signs where to turn in Stepantsminda. Almost 6 km of excellent paved road (laid in 2018), which leads you to an altitude of 2,200 meters.
Equipped parking lots with markings, there is an order.
The temple itself was in scaffolding, so it was not possible to see all the beauty.
The observation deck offers a magnificent view of Stepantsminda and Gergeti.
It's cold enough upstairs even in summer, so be sure to keep this in mind (it was +10 upstairs in July).
I strongly recommend you to visit.
It's an incredible place, the view is like looking from a quadcopter.
The sun is reflected from a Snowy Kazbega onto the grass and it turns out to be incredibly bright. Very beautiful
We walked from the village to the top. It wasn't easy, it was a whole ordeal. When I returned home, I realized that I was burned all over, I looked like a homeless man at the Kazan railway station.
Beauty from all sides. Definitely worth a visit. In good weather, you can see Mount Kazbek.
The paved road goes straight to the monastery. Parking nearby is very small, it is better to stop a little in advance and take a little walk
Don't be lazy to go there. You can see this church from the town. She is on the mountain in front of Kazbek. An ordinary puzoterka gets up there easily. There's asphalt everywhere. The church has a magnificent view of Kazbek and the city. You can take a taxi. Bargain. Initially, the price tag is too high for lifting.
It is a very bright and kind place, services are held, we just visited it, a very pleasant, well-prayed place. Nearby there are beautiful views of both the Kazbek volcano and the settlements of Gergeti and Stepantsminda.
It's a very beautiful church
We walked because we didn't stop by car at dawn in January.
It's very beautiful😍😍😍🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪
Dogs live under the bell tower :)
A wonderful place, with super views from all sides. It's a pity the weather let us down a little and we didn't see Kazbek. But they were fed and photographed with the local inhabitants (cows and horses
The place can be said to be beautiful, but that's not what would take your breath away. Do not believe the local guides and taxi drivers, they say that only a licensed bus can be reached, they are blatantly lying. In my car, no problem, good road. They say that taxi drivers just blindly block it to take money, but I drove quietly early in the morning
An amazing place! I recommend everyone to visit, gorgeous views, calm and tranquility you experience while being near the Church. If you are lucky with the weather, you can see Mount Kazbegi (unfortunately, there were clouds and we failed, only a small part)
A place of power. Incredible. High, high in the mountains. The night views are mesmerizing, it seems you are next to the sky and the stars. We always try to walk to the church, the views are amazing. It is more difficult in winter, but there are cars on the square, a car of 60 GEL.
The old church was built of stone. Inside the icon, there is a small area around and there is a separate observation deck from which Stepantsminda can be seen. Parking is available, entrance is free.
An amazing holy place, I recommend you to visit. It is located on one of the Caucasian peaks. Excellent access road, large Parking lot. The church is functioning. Very picturesque views, which is only worth Kazbeg
A must-visit.
In this place, you perceive your place in the creation of the world in a special way.
The majestic mountains around and the views that open up in this place are worth a visit.
A wonderful place with wonderful monks, they speak Russian very poorly, but they are very kind and pleasant! You can take photos and videos inside, in many other places in Georgia they are not allowed. A beautiful view opens from above! It fascinates with its beauty! For a long time, the road to the monastery was not paved and it was possible to get to it either on foot or by SUV, but both were a real adventure, a few years ago the roadbed was significantly transformed and you can now get there by any car. If my review was useful, please like it.
Before reaching Stepantsminda, 300 meters turn to the right, there is a brown sign, then on the left there is a parking lot for puzoterok, they carry up on Mitsu Delikas (money is wasted). The road to the temple is steep, but paved, the car will pass without problems. It's hard to climb loaded, but it will pass.
The temple is ordinary, as in any city in Georgia. All the beauty is outside. Photos, videos of the surroundings, view of Kazbegi. Great for a copter.
Overnight, if with tents, here, 400 meters below the temple. There is a small forest, tents are pitched on the edges.
There is drinking water at the foot of the temple (fenced off from animals).
The climb here cost an additional 20 GEL.
The church is located in a picturesque location. The views of the surrounding area (if you are an atheist) are much more impressive than the building itself.
We were in July 2023, in the ancient city of Mtskheta, in an Orthodox church. We really liked it, as well as the whole of Georgia. Stone streets, an ancient fortress, a beautiful temple, history, you can write a lot about it. For example, the city is 2500 years old and many residents of Georgia still consider it the capital. Be sure to visit this place👏
Emotions are overwhelming when you find yourself in this historic place. I don't know how to describe in words what you feel. I definitely recommend visiting this place.
If you are in Stepantsminda, be sure to visit this church, stunning panorama, clean air, you can ride a horse, ATV, but we just sat and enjoyed the panorama.
A place of power with stunning views and energy! It is a must to visit! Especially in the morning in clear weather, Kazbek will reveal itself in all its glory. It's easy to get there by any car, do not believe the taxi drivers who want to make money on you.
Be sure to go upstairs if time and weather allow — the views are incredible, the church is absolutely magical, functioning, a sweet young priest serves in it, a strong place. The road from Stepantsaminda by car will take 10-15 minutes. Admission is free, but there is a church shop if you want to put candles, and a donation box.
This place overlooking Kazbek is one of the highlights of Georgia. The place is a must have to visit. Passing through Upper Lars, you definitely need to stop here.
A wonderful place with stunning views, we went after lunch closer to 16:30 - Kazbek opened completely. The temple inside is impressive (you can leave notes for health and repose), candles are in the Temple in a basket for free (but for those who wish, you can leave donations nearby). We were probably lucky and the road to the Temple was not blocked. Parking is available at the Temple and a little short of the metro 200m.
This is one of the oldest temples in the World. The temple is located at an altitude of more than two thousand meters above sea level. The uniqueness of the temple is in its architecture. This is a cross-domed architectural style characteristic of the temple buildings of the 14th century. Heavenly beauty! If you are looking for the Abode of Angels, then it is here.
One of the most picturesque places on Kazbegi! You can go to church, or you can walk around the neighborhood. Be careful, there are very strong winds here and there is nothing to do here without a windbreaker or jacket. If you are going for a walk, take food and water with you, there are no food outlets. We drove our car straight to the parking lot of the church, it was open, although the road was blurred in places.
The highest and at the same time accessible Orthodox church, because the paved road leads to its foot! The panorama is extraordinary, the views of the snowy peaks and the proximity of Kazbek are fascinating, the place is blessed and blessed! I didn't want to leave!
A place of spiritual power! There is beauty in everything here, There is Parking, you can ride horses, you can visit the temple, they give a cape on your head and legs. Grandmothers also stand and sell candles.
Definitely worth a visit! Many people miss this place in pursuit of Tbilisi....and very wrongly! Magnificent views and His Majesty Kazbek is right in front of you
An observation deck with space views. Taxi drivers are on duty down in the center of the village, but if you are driving, go yourself, do not be afraid. Although there is a serpentine, but there is good asphalt everywhere, there are no problems getting there on your own
It's beautiful from afar, my mother and I didn't get there, half of the tourists too, 2 incomprehensible "roads" where you have to climb up and with your feet and hands. Either go along the road for cars 5-6 km, or take a taxi. It is better not to climb through the mountains, it is very easy to break over the sprout. I saw somewhere a review that a small child calmly reached, I'm not sure, the men turned around here. Insanely hard way, if not on the road for cars, count on it, we did not take the risk and climb up a narrow path when there is a cliff nearby.

A must-visit place. There is absolutely nothing to look at in the building itself, but there are excellent views around, starting from the road along which the ascent takes place
We visited this church in the evening, when the lanterns were already turned on - a beautiful place in a warm way. There aren't many people. We went inside the church. Neither men nor women can attend church in shorts! Women in short skirts are not allowed. But, in principle, this is not a problem, there are "skirts" at the entrance, which you can take for free and tie over your clothes. I recommend visiting this place.
