One of the water towers. North. It was built in 1890 under the Russian Empire. It is richly decorated with architectural elements: pilasters, scapulars, croutons, lucars, cornices and belts. It is divided into 4 tiers. Initially, it performed its direct role: inside there was a frame with pipes for supplying water to the tank. There are artists' workshops here now.
It is marked on the maps as Basia, but in fact no one knows for sure which one is Kasia and which is Basia.
It looks very interesting and beautiful from the outside. But now it's impossible to imagine a twin neighbor without her. We have preserved the history of the city's water supply system and just the history of the city.
Creative workshops. Decorate beautifully and take weekend excursions. Then it will just be "WOW." Artists and sculptors work inside, and the outside is a shabby building, although it has historical value.
Kasia and Basia construction was connected with the construction of the first water supply system in the city. These are two octagonal water towers in Grodno, this is the historical value of the city, they look beautiful.
One of the local attractions. Unfortunately, I found them in heavy rain, but they were not spoiled) it's easy to find them, you can watch them anytime)
An ordinary water tower, old. As a person who does not understand much about this, I will say that there is nothing remarkable. The entrance was closed. I wasn't inside
Were. We looked at it. We still did not understand who these towers were named after: either in honor of the accountant and the caretaker of the water utility, or some artist named them that way...
But historically significant objects were interesting to us.
The famous "scientist" cat, sitting under one of the towers, cracked along itself, but holds on))))
Grodno is incomparable!
