The Ark Citadel is the winter palace of the imam. It was a whole city for the ruler. Part of it was destroyed, leaving only ruins and tablets that used to be here. In all rooms there are different expositions about the life and lifestyle of the ruler and the people. It is interesting to see if you can do it yourself with a guide.

A historical place. Since this is not my first time in Bukhara, I was most interested in what is behind the restored facade of the fortress. For a small fee, we had a look. Unfortunately, all the buildings are in ruins. Judging by the records on the Internet, these are the results of the bombing of the Bolsheviks during the capture of the fortress. In general, it's an eerie sight. It is a pity that the beautiful historical buildings have not survived to the present day. (On the back side of the fortress, the one facing the prison, the wall has been thoroughly destroyed. They are trying to restore it. I think it will take a long time, given the scale of the destruction. The place is beautiful and iconic. It's worth a visit.
