Rome struck with its greatness and power! The museum city! Walking through the city, you seem to hear the voices of those times... The Colosseum left the most vivid impression! He's beautiful! The Colosseum is amazing!
The Colosseum is a world-class landmark
where tourists from all over the globe go.Based on my personal experience, the Colosseum looks very beautiful both inside and out.
The Colosseum is also very convenient in terms of location. You can get to the Colosseum both by bus and by metro.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed, for some reason I thought it was bigger. And of course, it was not comfortable, there were a lot of tourists, and accordingly difficulties with buying water and toilets. But "just" a historical place worth visiting, nothing more. But this is my personal opinion.
The most obligatory place to visit in Rome, it is most convenient to come after 16 o'clock, there are significantly fewer tourists. It is better to choose daylight hours for exploring inside, but in the evening it is simply magnificent with additional lighting, as is the whole composition with an arch and a Forum.
One of the most famous symbols of the Roman Empire. He survived the Empire. Personally, it seemed to me like a fortress after the siege by the barbarians. The queues are huge, like under Emperor Titus. I wanted to come up and suggest that gladiator fights were banned one thousand six hundred years ago). Strangely, the wagons became iron, but the people remained the same.
Someone writes about dirt and garbage ..I didn't see any of this..We had a small group and we passed quickly..and we watched this power ..Gorgeous! I got stuck after the operation..I could barely walk and was able to get to the bus .I also couldn't find a new smartphone..I fell out on the bus ..Then I saw him - I slipped into the seat belts..And Rome and the loss of a smartphone walked all day ..Damn, how I fucked myself up ..But I'm glad about this trip!After 4 months, my weight returned to me ..Italy helped!
It fascinates with its monumentality, every stone is saturated and smells of history.
There is a pleasant park nearby. On the other hand – the "circus" (ancient hippodrome).
It's a beautiful place. A must-see for anyone who has visited Rome.
It is better to take tickets online and to several places in Rome at once. There is a special pass. And there will be fewer problems with the queue everywhere, because there will no longer be any need to stand at the checkout. The Colosseum itself is required to visit😊

It's funny, but unfortunately there were no gladiatorial fights on the day of the visit
I've seen decently preserved arenas in Arna and El Jem, but the Colosseum...This is power, of course. Such, I would say, is the element of stone that cannot be filled up, killed, or corrected. If you have at least a little imagination, you can imagine HOW it was in the best odes. And more. It has been calculated (not by me) how many people and animals have died here in this place. This is a terrible figure. In one place! Absolutely, there is no such place on the planet anymore...Think about it when you stand here. And the last thing. In November 2018, when I was here, active restoration work was underway. I don't know if it's good or not, but I frankly liked what I saw. IMHO.
Everyone needs to see this. Words cannot convey all the splendor and delight.
It is better to go in spring or autumn. In summer, the heat is +33 and full of tourists
The history of a great civilization, beautifully crowded, the only thing spoils a large number of migrants selling all sorts of junk and running from peddlers

I came here and here the gladiator battles almost killed me
Crowds of tourists around. But it's very impressive. You understand that even then, for hundreds or thousands of years, humanity was able to build colossal buildings, the ability to have fun....In short, people lived
Colosseum is colossal, and I am so small ... the scope, the breath of millennia, learning new things about the old, familiarization with history. But the queues for tickets and entrance are something!
I am impressed by the area. Completely immersed in the story. Rome is the center of Europe. I love Italy. I would rest there all the time if I had a lot of money all the time...
Of course, this is a place where you need to visit. It is advisable to read various theories on the construction and reconstruction of this monument before visiting and do not yawn on the spot in terms of pickpockets.
The Colosseum is the coolest place for me. For me, modern construction facilities built using modern materials and technologies are nothing. The Colosseum is EVERYTHING!
An iconic place. On a large scale, it takes your breath away from the idea of the scale of the actions that unfolded here in ancient times. I was in the Croatian city of Pula, where there is an equally large-scale amphitheater similar to the Colosseum
I wanted to see it in all its glory, but the repair work limited tourists and I had to be content with the view from the outside, of course this is one of the iconic buildings of mankind and I hope that someday it will be completely restored. There are also repairs around the building, difficulties with navigation, dirt around and bustle do not allow you to get into the history and architecture, but you can skip a glass of wine on the terrace of the second floor in the restaurant across the street with a wonderful view of the collapsed part of the colosseum!!!
Be sure to visit this historical place, there has always been a paid entrance, it is strange that many in the reviews are surprised at the paid entrance .....in my opinion, 10 euros in 2019 . In Italy, many basilicas have a paid entrance, especially the Colosseum) I would rather open the borders, any Rome, how I miss it.
The scope and age are impressive. What people did for about 2000 years afterwards is puzzling. It is a pity that Fedun did not have the courage to build a stadium for Spartak in the style of the Colosseum. But everything is always out of place there.
There are a lot of people in the tourist season, the Afro-Italians are a little annoying trying to sell water to everyone, taken from nowhere... and so, the place is historically pleasant)
The actual experience of visiting is very different from everything that was seen in the photos and videos. Neither photos nor videos convey any dimensions or other impressions about this place. Different masonry, amazing edges of "broken" walls... It seemed that this was not an arena at all. It's something else... it could have been used as an arena, but it was built for some other purpose. An interesting masonry with metal pins supposedly for fixing the facing marble... and the floor of the dungeon... or rather, what is considered gender... Excavations are still underway... but they are unlikely to tell ordinary mortals about how it really is.
I recommend it to everyone who is not indifferent to the history of ancient Rome (after all, he left a significant contribution to the development of our civilization). The scale of the structure, multiplied by its age, is amazing. Will today's buildings last 2,000 years?
Recommendations:
1. take tickets online (e.g. via the website coopculture.it ), so as not to stand in line for them;
2. it's better to go in the afternoon, there are fewer visitors;
3. you need to come in some time (in my case, in 10 minutes) before the time specified in the ticket;
4. there will be a separate queue for inspection at the Forum, even with a ticket purchased in advance (but still shorter than at the Vatican), it is better to watch the Forum after the Colosseum;
5. it is better to visit these places in spring or autumn, it can be very hot in summer;
Well, there are a lot of tourists!!!
If you do not buy a ticket online (you still need to get it at the box office, also after standing in a long queue - in April 2019), then you can spend the whole day on admission. I had to buy a tour for four prices, and still queues and screening. But with a guide and stories, although the group is large, but everything is audible (they give out a radio with an earphone).
