Everything is expensive in stores, it is easier to buy in the country itself and even to issue a Tax Fri, it turns out to be more profitable, because in Dubai malls there is absolutely everything for every taste (this is my opinion)

A perfectly functioning airport (with the exception of natural disasters). You can quickly go through passport control through scanning documents, and if you need to print documents, then there are racks with people. No need to take off your shoes, take out your laptop, put outerwear in the tray, etc. Everything is simple and fast (May 2024). At the bottom is the arrival area and a convenient meeting place, and at the top is the departure area. To check in for a flight, it is enough to go to one of the many self-registration terminals with your luggage, check in for a flight and send your suitcase inside the device. It is super convenient that the metro departs and arrives directly at the airport. The most popular areas in the city can be reached cheaply. But the downside is that night metro flights operate on different schedules and sometimes the last train is not as scheduled, but earlier. Parking and taxis are very conveniently organized. Since it is state-owned, the prices are on the meter, then at the exit there is just a queue of people who are put in the first taxi car in order, and then on the move with the driver you decide where to go. One minus, once the whole group was taken to the next row of taxis with expensive minivans, and they did not give us the opportunity to get into a regular taxi, it turned out to be noticeably more expensive, but not space. It is convenient that there is a convenience store with ready-made food, flowers and useful little things on the ground floor with very reasonable prices. It is also better to immediately buy a 220v adapter for Eurovision from their local one.

It is a very large airport, it is difficult to deal with the baggage check-in area. There are long queues at the control, even though it is automated.
I was a little surprised by the lack of security at the entrance (as we have in Sheremetyevo, for example)
After all the control measures, you take the train to your terminal. We had a landing from some kind of basement, we had to go through the heat by bus and stand in line on the ramp under the blazing sun.

!For Russian tourists who do not know, there is a last store in the duty free zone (right before going to the planes), there are the lowest prices for EVERYTHING :both for water and dates, even sandwiches are in the refrigerator (prices are almost like in a supermarket, and not 10 times more expensive, as in the entire airport)!! Terrible people work at the check-in desk. No help at all! Screams! They don't listen! At the airport restaurant, they took money for three Coca-Colas, and brought 2. I can't say that I liked the airport. The check-in area is small, a couple of seats sit down and it's time for coffee points. There is a footcourt, of course, but there are only 4 places with food on it, 3 of them fast food and 1 Indian cuisine.
We thought it would be more diverse in the departure area, but no, dutifrey, a couple of sandwich shops and a couple of fast food outlets. Even coffee was hard to find a place to drink.
In general, I didn't even lie next to Sheremetyevo and Pulkovo.

A very efficient airport. Despite the small premises, the airport has a large capacity. Duty free is not rich in assortment, the departure waiting area is quite crowded, but there are several places where you can have a snack. You will be taken to the plane by bus. This trip can take 15 minutes, as the airfield is just huge.
Smart gates are impressive, through which adults can pass without children, which greatly simplifies the procedure of passing customs control. You just attach your passport, wait 30 minutes and the turnstile lets you through. The stamp is not put either on arrival or on departure. According to customs, this option works for everyone who has been to Dubai at least once before. If you arrived for the first time, you will have to go through a standard window with a person.

I visited this Luhari shopping center, which doubles as an airport.
Upon arrival, a local airport employee for some reason showed us with his hand so that we would go to the automatic control desks, which work without people. But, as it turned out, they do not work for citizens of the Russian Federation (at least not for everyone). We've lost a lot of time because of this.
Luhari shops look at you from all corners and beckon you to spend honestly exchanged dirhams.
