For my taste, the zoo is better than in the capital)
A very wide variety of animals, birds, fish, snakes, etc.

Quite a decent zoo, a wide variety of animals, from small rodents in a terrarium and up to leopards, lions, tigers, bears, reptiles, birds, and much more. Very good size and layout: enough not to run quickly, but to take a good walk, but also not to get tired and not get lost. The toilet is normal, clean. I put a four only for the condition of some birds. Dirty, the wings are injured, it's a pity to watch.

My friend and I came to Grodno mostly to visit it, but we were disappointed by the sight of poor animals that are being cared for extremely mediocre. The birds are quite free and comfortable there, there are no questions here. Only the peacock with its big and beautiful tail was deprived of a place. The feathers rested against the bars. And the rest of the animals were very sad to look at. The tiger coughed all over the zoo and no one cared about him. The monkeys decided to break their psyche with the help of a transparent glass enclosure and an open door on the other side where they see freedom, but they can't do anything, they were very fussed, it was a pity. As for artiodactyls, this is also a problem. Take the example of a mangy bison with protruding ribs and recall Belovezhskaya Pushcha, in which it would not even be recognized as its own with such a look. In general, I put two stars for the birds and fish. I would not have brought my children there, so as not to break the developing psyche of the child. Thanks for attention.

If we compare the zoos of Grodno and Minsk.... Grodno is a quiet, cozy place where both visitors and animals are comfortable. Lots of greenery, neat and clean aviaries, no chaos and hype.
Minsk - a terrible smell from the aviaries, two trees for the whole zoo. There are huge queues at the ticket office on weekends. Animals accustomed to life in the forests (among nature) have nowhere to hide.
If zoos are on social security, then you can immediately see where they love their work and take care of animals

Pink flamingos are simply amazing.
It's good that there are no entertainments for children, as in Minsk, so, without being distracted, you can just watch the animals. Cons:
- canceled benefits for disabled children
- it is impossible and food is not sold so that one of the animals can be fed.
There is a beautiful Pelican cafe nearby. Perfect for lunch, simple homemade food at very very pleasant prices.
