Very beautiful stylized interior. Like the museum of the film "Caucasian Captivity", But in the museum they "eat" only with their eyes. So it is here for the visual 5 and for the kitchen 3. Prices do not correspond to the level of the kitchen, this is a fee for the interior. We ordered a shish kebab made from the flesh of mutton and brought over-dried meat, which is impossible to chew. Pea soup in general is not like soup, but porridge. Fried khinkali with potatoes - norms for 5. Dolma for 3+. Bozbash is on 4. Caesar is 3 (but my daughter liked it, so 4). Eggplants in Georgian (I didn't take a picture, because they were brought first, and we really wanted to eat) looked "lifeless" - 3. Only peach compote was delicious))
If you are not hungry and not picky about food, then you can visit this place to admire the atmosphere. But if you are hungry and at least know a little about food, then go take a picture and leave))

It's a great place. The food was delicious. The interior and atmosphere of the place are unique. After reading the negative reviews, they doubted whether or not to go there. They didn't regret it at all. Everything turned out to be on top.
The waiters are a little sad, but I can guess the reasons. 10% of the tip is included in the price and it does not add to their enthusiasm. I think it's better for the owner to add this 10% to the price tag for the dishes, and leave the tip to the waiter. The guests will decide for themselves how diligent and friendly the waiter was and will pay accordingly.
Moreover, the price tag for an institution of this level is quite democratic...

We stopped by for dinner. There were quite a lot of people. Of the advantages, I will note an interesting interior.
We ordered khinkali, cauldron with pork and cherry compote. Khinkali is generally good, but there is little meat inside. A cauldron is some kind of sadness: fried onions, mushrooms, sweet peppers, apples and absolutely tender, old meat, literally a few pieces. Such disgusting meat has not been eaten in 2 weeks of traveling in the Caucasus.
The service is poor. There is zero politeness and hospitality, dishes are thrown on the table.
The total check turned out to be 12,650 AMD, taking into account the automatic 10% for the service, which did not exist. I do not recommend it.

The place is atmospheric, elegant decoration, beautiful dancing. The dishes are 4 with a minus, although we are not picky and were very hungry before visiting the institution.
The highlight of the place is the waiter, who was asked to advise us on delicious local dishes. The waiter vaguely named several dishes to us, my wife and I asked to show these dishes on the menu, but we were ignored twice. God be with him, they made an order. The waiter did not warn his wife that one of the dishes is very large and she will definitely not be able to handle it, especially after a bowl of soup.
Further, during the meal, I asked for the bill in advance, the same waiter brought it and calculated us (a 10% service fee was included in the bill) and left a glass for tips. After half a minute, he came up to us, tilted the glass towards him, looked into it and pushed the glass even closer to me. I repeat, we were still eating and planned to sit a little longer.
Half a minute later, he came up to me, tilted the glass again, saw that it was still empty and slightly hit the table with it and pushed it almost into my plate. I was strained by this wildness and so that they would let me finish eating, I put 1000 in this glass to this savage. I will never set foot in this place again and I would not advise anyone to come here.

Good and fast service. Hearty and delicious food. Beautiful and atmospheric design. Performances are sometimes held. A good place for big meetings and celebrations.
One day they forgot to bring 1 dish (there were 20 of us) and included it in the receipt. When discovered, the restaurant apologized and provided a glass of wine as an apology.
And now what I didn't really like is that the menu is very large, but while you're flipping through it, you'll forget what was in the beginning. It would be good to make a short list with the name/price.

We arrived with my husband in Yerevan, decided to visit such a place advertised by bloggers on Amiryan Street "Caucasian captive". What can I say.... we thought we'd sit down and try different national dishes, but... The pork ribs have done their job. They were dry, the meat could not be chewed, the husband did not even eat them. When we told the waiter about it, the receptionist then came up to us and said that it meets the standards of cooking of our institution. Alas and ah! If these are the standards when guests (not just us) complain that it is impossible to eat, then...Draw conclusions, gentlemen! Another of the disadvantages, it seemed to me, we were not exactly welcome, since we came together and, probably, in their opinion, we would have ordered little.But, believe me, in other establishments we ordered many different dishes, and left decent checks.
Of the pros: sooo delicious eggplant salad! I recommend it!
And the guys -dancers, just fire, did the show perfectly!
Conclusion: do not listen to bloggers, the meat there is really tasteless. There are a lot of other places in Yerevan where you can have a great and delicious meal. We will not return here

My husband had a birthday two days ago, but they could only gather everyone on this day. They didn't give me a discount on my birthday. They say it's only day to day. The discount is given only when buying a cake. On this day, many people celebrated their birthday, all the tables were occupied, you can see a very popular place. I definitely recommend it. I can't wait for the waiter. It's a long wait for food. It was not delicious, they ordered eggplant with filling, the eggplant turned out to be burnt, and the filling was raw. Homemade bread is delicious. The dolma is medium, you can say edible. It seems that there are a lot of visitors because of the peculiar interior, so they don't really care about reputation. In general, there were bad impressions and there is no desire to return there, although back in 2021 we sat quietly in the main hall and ate quite delicious food, and the service was better.

Today we visited the restaurant "Caucasian captive". The interior is 5+. That's all. The food is not delicious, although we took different ones to try. We couldn't finish any of the dishes.

The finale was that the waiter begged for tips, saying that what is indicated in the receipt 10% service fee does not suit them. Although, there was a desire not to even pay for food! I strongly do not recommend it! The owner needs to pay attention to the work of his staff. There are other beautiful places in Yerevan, but not the Caucasian captive.

But the hot stuff upset me again. Очень атмосферное место! Все круто и детально воспроизведено по одноименному фильму. Блюда красивые, большие, хачапури с двойным желтком, ну просто пальчики оближешь. А вот хинкали подкачали, на стоооолько острые, что вкус еды не ощущался. Не понравились, хоть и сочные были. Хорошо, что дети взяли люля и картошку, а то пришлось бы оставлять хинкали, потому что есть невозможно!

05.11.24 I was at the Caucasian Captive restaurant on Sayat-Nova 25.
I ordered a lamb kebab, barbecue sauce, Choban salad.
The salad is cut as large as possible, it tastes normal (fresh vegetables), the price is 1900 drams (almost 500 rubles.) for a simple vegetable salad, it is clearly overpriced.
But the apogee of the apotheosis was a barbecue - four small dry pieces on thin pita bread and a mountain of simple white onions that would tear your stomach to shreds. One of these four tiny pieces was impossible to chew because of the solid veins. The waitress asked if everything was okay. I honestly outlined the situation, the answer is generally expected: well, yes, probably a bit harsh meat… Well, yes, apparently in this institution it is completely normal for 3800 drams (900 rubles.) serve dry sole instead of juicy and soft meat.
Before I tried the kebab, I wanted to take another dessert, but the waitress could not clearly explain what cream was in the cakes, what they were made of, Googled and looked on the Internet…
After the barbecue, the desire to taste dessert disappeared completely.
They charge 10% for the service (in Portofino, the coolest Italian resort - 15%) - for what, it is not clear.
In general, there is no entourage at the restaurant, no service, no restaurant-level food. Apart from the pretentious prices, nothing hints at the restaurant.
Therefore, I do not understand the rave reviews, maybe I was so unlucky. Maybe on Amiryan 6 the quality is completely different, but I write as it is.
The mood is spoiled, expectations were not met (I went there after reading the reviews). The place is clearly overrated.
I put one star ONLY FOR LIVE MUSIC: the pianist played wonderfully there.

The location is excellent. Several halls. It is better to make an appointment in the central hall in advance, there is a show program and it is usually busy. If you want to eat in a quieter environment, then go to the far one. A beautiful entourage from a famous movie.
There are many dishes on the menu that can satisfy anyone. Mutton, beef, pork, fish - everything is there. Delicious. I think the eggplant salad is one of the best in the city. Lamb kebab too.
