Psyrtskha is a stopping point of the Abkhazian railway in the city of New Athos in Abkhazia. There is a very picturesque path along the hydroelectric power station, it is very good that the platform is being restored — an exceptionally beautiful place, especially at dusk, in the evening lights. Nearby there is an ecotrope in the gorge leading to the cell of Simon Kananita, a fall at the hydroelectric power station, a railway road. We recommend a walk, there is definitely something to see here, admission is free (except for ecotropics, there is a ticket office at the entrance)

Psyrkha station (Psyrkha) is a now—inactive stopping point of the Abkhazian railway. In the Soviet years, it was here that tourists visiting New Athos got off, but today rare trains arise from the darkness of the tunnel, rush through and also disappear into the tunnel opposite.
Pscyrkha station is called not only the most beautiful, but also the most mystical of the abandoned stations in Abkhazia. It's all the fault of the symbol of the five—pointed star (a magical symbol of divine fire - the unity of spiritual and material).

A very atmospheric place, a must-visit!
The view is amazing.
There are fish from small to large individuals in the pond, as well as turtles.
You can take a ride on a boat with a transparent bottom.
The station building itself is under restoration, and in a couple of years it will probably be completely put in order.

Down under the waterfall, you can meet divorced photographers who unceremoniously put a hat and a burka on you, chat a lot. They take photos on your phone, then demand 4,000 for renting things for a photo... for 10 photos on your phone...

It is a beautiful and unusual place, especially for a resident of the plain: the station is located quite high, the platform stretches from tunnel to tunnel, and the station pavilion seems to "hover" over the purest lake with azure-colored water, where trout swim... An excellent architectural solution, it's a pity that the damage has not been repaired yet.

The bus stop was opened in 1944 under the name Dacha. In 1951, the platform received the Georgian name — Agaraki. In 1967, the station was renamed after the river that flowed here — Psyrtskha.

There are always those who want to take pictures on the railway tracks, but the caretaker is vigilant and scares violators away with a loud voice. By the way, this year I saw that the station building is being restored. I have not seen trains stop here, but as a monument of Soviet architecture, the station is very interesting!

Nature. Weather. Attractions. There are few people on the beaches. Clear sea. Cheap quality wine and good draft Sukhumi beer. There are good cafes that have free tables. They develop and build everything.
Very friendly people, good attitude everywhere.
The New Athos caves do not have a website, there is a live queue, it is inconvenient.
There are few good hotels. There are many buildings that have not been restored. The level of service is the Crimea of the 2000s, with rare exceptions.
I liked it more in Pitsunda.

But the beauty of this place...This is something amazing!! A refreshing coolness awaits you at the waterfall on a sultry day..somehow the air conditioner is right outside. Climbing up, you can see a very beautiful platform with vintage benches, a beautiful lake with fish and then a park.. It was a revelation to me in Abkhazia that water can be drunk from springs, waterfalls, directly from the mountains! Be sure to go further!! Nothing ends beyond the station ;)

It's just mesmerizing!!! Everything is so beautiful!!! We were in Abkhazia in May of this year. We were very impressed. I liked everything. The people are friendly, the nature is amazing, the views are simply gorgeous. We visited the Novo Athenian cave, Rizza Lake, trout farming and many more interesting places. If you want vivid impressions, visit the Fabulous forest, I recommend it to everyone, you will be satisfied! For me, Abkhazia is a place of power, where you can see mountain rivers, lakes, mountains, a majestic canyon and the purest sea.

One of the most atmospheric places in New Athos, very beautiful, all my clients were happy to be there.
The only negative is that in the summer of 2023, there was a reconstruction inside, there were scaffolding and spoiled the view. For me, such things should be done more quickly and out of season. How many times I came there, no work was going on, only forests.

One disadvantage is that Ostap Bender (an incomprehensible man in civilian clothes) is standing in the parking lot near the waterfall and collecting money for parking (200 rubles). It is not clear why the authorities of Abkhazia do not react to this. Because of such petty moments, the tourist does not want to come again and again.

I thought it was abandoned. That was not the case. It's like a tourist Mecca. Parking 200 rubles. In general, it is a great place to walk. Nearby you can go to the cave of the Apostle Canonite. You can look at the waterfalls. You can ride on transparent troughs. I liked the architecture. Gorgeous Soviet architecture. Made for the ages. It's worth a visit.

The Pscyrhas railway station is currently under restoration. And it's all in the woods, so you won't be able to go inside. But it has not lost its charm and atmosphere. This is the place where I really wanted to go for several years. And now my dream has come true. I'm not disappointed. Nearby you can rent a boat with a transparent bottom. The rental cost is 500 rubles. for 20 minutes. Also from the station you can walk to the waterfall and to the Novo Athos Monastery, if you go in the opposite direction, you will get to the fortress and the Novo Athos caves..
