I can't say that this place is one of those places where you will want to return again and again. But you need to visit once! If you manage to catch a moment when there are not very many guests, you will get great pleasure from the views. Walk along the long-abandoned platform, stand in the center of the "forgotten" station... For the sake of these sensations, it is worth visiting there, especially since the New Athos caves are just a few minutes away.

The train stop itself is abandoned. The place is very picturesque and picturesque. The most beautiful reservoir in front of the dam. Below the hydroelectric power station, it has been restored. I was vacationing in New Athos in February 2022. Snowdrops, mimosa, cyclamen bloomed. And evergreen trees add flavor to the southern winter. The unusual architecture of the station attracts. The musician was playing some kind of ancient instrument, the acoustics amplified the beautiful melody.

An incredibly beautiful place! I am glad to be in Abkhazia for the second time and I am returning there for the second time. The last time the station was hung with a ribbon, light bulbs, artificial greenery were hung, and a piano was installed. It seemed like it was a temporary shoot, but it was still unpleasant that there was no information about it, it was impossible to pass and take a picture. I give five stars for the beauty of the place and for the atmosphere.
What I liked: we rented catamarans, and towed the old ones to the shore.

An atmospheric place with a very beautiful surrounding nature. The platform takes you back 30 years, as all the fences, lanterns and buildings remained intact in the form they were many years ago.

A fairy tale from New Athena. It is located above the waterfall. When everyone goes from the Nafon monastery to the waterfalls, many do not climb the stone stairs (spravo), and there is the highlight. A lake and an abandoned platform.
