Delving into the heart of Central Asia through its flavors, Kazakh national cuisine offers an extraordinary culinary adventure that is both rich in tradition and delightfully satisfying. The star of the table is undoubtedly 'beshbarmak', a sumptuous dish of tender boiled meat served over homemade pasta, symbolizing warmth and generosity. Accompanied by 'kumis', a refreshing fermented mare's milk, the meal takes on a festive note. The robust 'shashlik', marinated and grilled meat, fills the air with irresistible aromas, promising a taste that is both juicy and perfectly charred. Each meal is an homage to the nomadic heritage, where the simplicity of ingredients meets the complexity of flavors, creating a dining experience that is genuinely heartwarming and enriching. Truly, Kazakh cuisine is a treasure trove of undiscovered flavors, waiting to captivate the palates of food lovers around the world.
Good environment, polite staff who can speak English, recommended traditional dish, very tasty! I would love to come back again if I visit Almaty. Should make a reservation in advanced.
The most beautiful restaurant I've been to in Almaty! The Kazakh-only dishes were the most savory I've had in the three months I've been in Kazakhstan. The fine art and traditional decor made the atmosphere feel elegant, yet welcoming. Excellent wait service and decently priced menu.
It is worth highlighting the interior, very tasty food and the uniform of the waiters, which supports the overall atmosphere. I liked the dish Bal Kuerdak. The portion is small, but quite satisfying. The only thing I didn't like was that you can't order bread, it only comes as a dessert (with honey, vegetable and butter). That is, you have to pay extra for what comes in the "kit". The prices are high. The service fee is 15%. Moreover, the cost of the dishes looks like the payment for the service is already included in them. I did not underestimate the rating for this, because the restaurant has more advantages.
Very nice interior, made in the national style. The service is good, the waiter knows the menu, is polite. The uniform is in national traditions, clean. The food is very satisfying. We ordered kozhe, kuyrdak, salad and baursaks. Very tasty baursaks, served with jam. Kuyrdak, the meat is a little overcooked, but so tasty and satisfying. There are exhibits on the upper floor. We'll be coming in
Just a must to visit in Almaty. In the national style. The dishes are delicious. The waiters give the necessary comments when choosing. And they also tell about the history of the dishes. Very interesting. The toilet is clean. There is a children's room, spacious with a transparent wall. There are many exhibits around the hall, about which they will also arrange a tour. The staff is very friendly. It's a pity we didn't catch live music.
Tasty, colorful, not too expensive. There is an online menu with photos of dishes, convenient. The toilets are clean. Reservations are always required, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table to be available, and this is on Thursday
I was confused by the mandatory service surcharge (around 10-15% of the order amount), although 3 waiters changed during dinner. The plates are chipped, the menu is shabby, some pages are kept on a kind word
In general, for me the score is around 3.7 - 4.2, but definitely not 5
My huge thanks to the restaurant, for the best service 👌this is the best restaurant in Almaty!!! The level of service is European, which is manifested in every detail of the interior, the serving, the behavior of the staff. The interior is stylish, you can sit together or celebrate a family celebration. Moreover, there is enough space not to interfere with each other.
The staff is very helpful. Our words of gratitude to the waiter Miras, who told us everything about the dishes, conducted a tour and told us very interestingly about all the details of the restaurant, paintings, chests and antiques.
This is not just a restaurant, but a whole museum!!! A place of warmth, luxury and light. The music, the setting, the choice of dishes are excellent. The best place to relax and have delicious treats!
We tried 4 traditional dishes here, we liked 3 very much, 1 turned out to be past us: the horsemeat soup is quite simple and lost a lot against the background of other dishes.
The waiters are very attentive, they practically notice everything that happens at the table: if they see any changes, they take away the plates, clarify whether something is needed. It took us a while to even notice how the empty plates disappeared before we even had time to salt our eyes.
I would like to note the interior separately: it feels like you are in a museum, there is always something to see and explore. On the way and back from the toilet, I managed to constantly be distracted by various exhibits and works of art)
An amazing restaurant of national cuisine! A very warm welcome, polite waiters who will help with the selection of dishes. It is very clean, aesthetically pleasing and colorful. We were twice on vacation-I really liked it! The portions are huge and everything was delicious! Thank you, we will definitely advise you!
Beautiful ethno interior, it is especially pleasant to invite guests from other countries there. There is Kazakh cuisine, everything is very tasty, beautiful presentation, good service. There is a children's room. For all 10/10. The prices are high, this is the level of the restaurant. The average check per person is 20,000

The best restaurant in Almaty! You should definitely take a bread basket to the table, it is very tasty, especially baursaks and creamy sauce for them. All the meat dishes are excellent. The waiters wear national clothes, and in the evenings from 20:00 they hold a concert of national music. It is very important to book a table in advance, there may not be any available ones. I really liked everything we took
This is one of the best restaurants of national cuisine! The design of the restaurant is made in a traditional national style, everything is done with taste without pathos and at the same time very stylish! Getting into the restaurant feels like you are transported back 100-150 years ago, the atmosphere is also conveyed by the staff dressed in simple national clothes of that time. The cuisine is beyond praise, Beshparmak is simply amazing, the dough is thin, not boiled, elastic and at the same time very tender! Very caring staff who will prompt you with a choice of dishes and bring everything promptly! An exemplary restaurant of national cuisine, where our guests from near and far abroad should be taken! There are no alcoholic beverages and coffee in the restaurant :), the prices are also pleasantly surprising, the average check per person is $ 20~$25! I will definitely come and bring all my foreign guests!
We were in Almaty on vacation in early July. We were looking for a Kazakh cuisine restaurant and chose this wonderful place! Attentive staff, everything is delicious and satisfying! Then we looked at the exhibits of the mini-museum-beauty! I recommend everyone to visit this magnificent restaurant!
An interesting and beautiful place. Very tasty local cuisine, friendly staff. They tell about each dish, its composition, history and how to eat.
Concerts of national music are held in the evenings. There is also a mini museum. Guided tours are provided for new guests.
Thanks to Sandyk for having the opportunity to introduce guests to the food and culture of Kazakhstan. We get gastronomic pleasure in this place. It is necessary to note the unusual serving of food. The staff is very attentive and caring. Well, special thanks for the music. The guys perform divinely! The only wish is to perform music of a non-tragic genre appropriate to the theme of the restaurant, because music should warm up the appetite, and not vice versa. And don't take it as a remark, but during the performance of works by musicians, it would be better to highlight them with white light, rather than red, blue and other tones. Thanks again!
My favorite restaurant in Almaty. Everything is perfect in this place, starting with the kitchen, serving dishes, and ending with the atmosphere. You get aesthetic and gastronomic pleasure. I definitely recommend you to visit❤
A great restaurant is ideal to appreciate the local cuisine, the staff is friendly, everything is very tasty, interesting interior, the price was pleasantly surprised! I definitely recommend you to visit!
Great place and great food! Horse meat and mutton are just great. It was my first time in Almaty and I was looking for a place to try local food and found it. I ordered beshbarmak, baursaks and lamb marinated in koumiss! Then there were sweets and green tea. I also liked the service. I definitely recommend it!
Live music from 20.00-22.00. Cozy, in the national style, there is a VIPKA, a variety of food, but I have comments and suggestions to the chefs, on the technology of making our national dishes, for serving them in exquisite taste, the staff is 100 points.
A great authentic place, the kitchen is just on top. The only thing that overshadows the visit is the size of your own stomach)) everything is so delicious that it is impossible to stop!
I recommend it 100%%
Drinkers will be disappointed-there is no alcohol here!
A restaurant with delicious cuisine, an interesting interior with an authentic flavor, a strange staff who kindly introduced you to the nuances of national cuisine and traditions of the Kazakh people. For a restaurant of this level, the price tag for the kitchen can be marked as average.
Excellent traditional cuisine restaurant! Everything is sooo delicious! The service is excellent. You can not only eat, but also plunge into the traditional atmosphere, as well as learn how these dishes are prepared.👍
According to the recommendations of local residents, we visited the restaurant. An authentic place, a beautiful interior, table setting and serving of dishes are all at the highest level. Polite staff. If we are in Almaty, we will definitely come in!
Very tasty, authentic) I liked the horse in all sorts of readings) national music, cozy, fast service) I will be happy to visit more than once) I recommend it to everyone
Place on 10 out of 10! The national cuisine is worthy of Michelin. The service is perfect. The interior is full of unique expositions. The portions are huge and very tasty. Beshbarmak wow!
The top restaurant of Kazakh cuisine in a modern presentation. I especially recommend trying beshbarmak from sturgeon. The decor of the main and VIP halls is a separate reason for visiting and surprise
Delicious, atmospheric, good service, live music. We really liked the local cuisine, we ate the national dish beshbarmak, drank koumiss and were very satisfied
Very nice restaurant, good service, beautiful dishes. But the kitchen is pretty mediocre relative to everything else. I didn't really like beshbarmak, beef on a stone. The portions are small.
We often visit cities with a culture different from our usual culture, including food. We are always looking for places where real national food is prepared, we ask the locals. The taxi driver on Medeo recommended the Sandyk restaurant. There are no signs on the street, it is not in sight, and nevertheless, the restaurant is almost 70% full during the day, there are many seats on the reservation, several tables were free. The dishes are really delicious, the portions are large, the girl Aniela served them quickly, politely and neatly. It was raining and stormy outside, so there were problems with WiFi, the menu code could not be read, Adele told us what the dishes we chose were like. Pleasant national music, authentic interior surroundings, service staff in national costumes, stylization of antique dishes - all this creates an effect of presence. It's not a pity to pay for good impressions, even if the check is above average.
If you are a tourist, I think you should definitely visit this place, it is very authentic, very tasty, be sure to ask to be shown all the halls, there are so many interesting things from the history of Kazakhstan.
Meat on the rocks in the author's presentation, it was unforgettable :))
A must-visit for those who want to truly experience the Kazakh national flavor. National music, waiters in folk costumes bring delicious Kazakh dishes and tell not only what they are made of, but also about traditions, when and for whom they are cooked!
The best restaurant of national cuisine in which I have been, the portions of food are gorgeous, in a snack with tea and a snack is the very thing. Live music is played in the evenings, as I understand it, it is possible only on weekends.
A wonderful atmospheric place! There is a guide who can show and tell, a kind of mini museum in the institution. The cuisine is delicious, the dishes are served in an unusual way.I liked everything!
