We came to buy tickets at the box office of the theater, but some creepy aunt cashier said that she did not know anything about the repertoire, we had to figure out the schedule ourselves somewhere and choose tickets, and she would only sell them to us! But if we are tourists and find ourselves without the Internet, she absolutely does not care, that is, the function of the cash register is not at all clear! Very unpleasant service, service at the level of the Stone Age!

A historic building built by Japanese prisoners of war, excellent acoustics, amazing atmosphere. A lively and interesting repertoire. I visit the theater almost every month. I especially recommend the national concerts.

There is only one disadvantage - tickets without seats - with free seating, allegedly due to coronavirus and distancing, but in fact everyone is sitting with each other without keeping a distance. To get a good place, you need to come in advance.
But the actors' performance covers this disadvantage.

The world-class Bolshoi Academic Theatre. The unique architecture, the building was designed by Shchusev. And it was built by Japanese prisoners of the Second World War. It is mandatory for local residents and guests of the city to visit. I recommend taking a tour of the theater, as there are a lot of different rooms with unique handmade finishes and rich history.
