Nice city but beware of taxis in front of the airport, they are scammers and aholes.

Of course, Alma Ata is a wonderful city! I am glad that I visit here, I like to visit there, especially after the modernization of the airport — it really made traveling even more comfortable. There are so many interesting things in the city: mountain landscapes at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau, parks like Kok-Tobe, the legendary Medeo skating rink, or Bolshoe Alma-Ata Lake. The new building of the international airport in Almaty is convenient, as you can quickly get here from almost any hotel, from anywhere in the city, documents are processed fairly quickly - tickets, boarding passes, and so on. If there is a flight delay due to the fault of the company, you will be provided with drinks and hot dishes, perhaps eventually a waiting room. It will be expanded, as it does not always accommodate a large number of people, especially when there is a flight delay due to non-flying weather.

Excellent modern airport. It is a pity that there are no national souvenirs at the airport except chocolates. I would like to be able to take away something national.
Everything is clean and comfortable. Good cafes. There are still few shops. The staff is the maximum of politeness and friendliness. Everyone is friendly. It was very pleasant to arrive and leave. Parking is a little weird. It is clear that we still need to work on it.

It's a nice airport, compact, but there's plenty of room. The bathrooms are clean and equipped to a decent standard. There are enough places for snacking, and there are even gluten-free and sugar-free products. The service is courteous. It's quite a cozy place. One disadvantage is that there are no stands for charging gadgets, so you have to look for sockets, people can sit cross-legged on the floor.

The staff is excellent, the airport is new, everything is clean and comfortable, it is unusual for security that there is no control at the entrance to the airport building, a separate respect for the animal release room!
On the downside: there are practically no local Kazakh delicacies in duty free: horse meat, kurt, koumiss, etc. I am sure that 80 percent of tourists would be happy to purchase them before departure!

I fly often and have visited many airports, but this one definitely deserves attention. Everything is thought out here for the convenience of passengers: clean and spacious waiting rooms, comfortable chairs, many cafes and shops. The airport staff is polite and attentive, always ready to help with any questions. I especially liked the departure area, where you can relax and unwind before the flight. A large and convenient airport. There are few waiting areas in the check-in area. There is plenty of room in the departure area... Big, but expensive, duty free. There are toilets everywhere, but they don't have time to serve them, probably because of the large flow of passengers with different levels of hygiene, upbringing and selfishness... Food is expensive and difficult to eat: coffee, rolls, water, chocolates... The selection of souvenirs is small, the prices are high. The staff is inconspicuous. It should be understood that the city is often smogged (or unable to :) and foggy, flights are delayed or transferred to an alternate airfield (Bishkek, for example). The impression is still good: the building is modern and large, everything is there... The airport is located within the city, transport accessibility is good. Taxi to the center 1500 - 2000 tenge. There is public transport, running smoothly.

The international flight terminal looks fresh and very spacious. After passing the pre-flight inspection, you can visit a lot of interesting shops. Comfortable chairs are installed in the area before boarding, the toilets are clean without harsh and unpleasant odors.
The domestic flight terminal, on the other hand, is cramped and stuffy for a long time.
