A great place, a historical monument, the territory is well-groomed, clean, comfortable, there are also several points with various goods on the territory, there is a free toilet. There are many photo zones on the top, and in the evening there is a beautiful view of the city. I work until 22:00, the entrance ticket is 40,000 soums for tourists
The iconic place of old Bukhara. Beautiful locations for a photo shoot both inside upstairs and outside downstairs. It is better to visit in the morning, because it is very hot on a sunny day. The view from above is beautiful. Judging by the fact that active restoration work is underway, in the near future the citadel will appear to us in all its glory.
A monumental structure, it looks large-scale, an interesting configuration of the walls. There are a lot of beautiful historical buildings around. Nearby there is a park with restaurants, ice cream and children's attractions.
Incredible strength and power. We went through everything inside with such pleasure. Interesting, beautiful, instructive. Lots of souvenirs. The museums have air conditioners, which saves you from the heat. I recommend this place to visit!
A huge attraction, a museum of local lore, a lot of artifacts, it's interesting, it's a little late, you can take a lot of photos, I really liked it. There are many additional museums available, go and see - flora, fauna, cotton.. information about courses, the Silk Road
A historic place! The first thing you notice is the parts of the towers protruding from the wall. It is a very unusual sight, the citadel looks very massive and interesting from the outside! And there are camels there) you can ride, or you can take pictures, while trying to pet the wayward animal. The photo is cheaper, don't forget)
I'm taking off the star for the contents of the fortress itself. There is a very weak exposure inside - honestly, you don't have to go in. A huge excavation site, a view from the fortress wall, and everything else, perhaps - everything else did not arouse any interest at all. I didn't understand what the fee was for)
A large-scale historical place, many places with a magnificent panorama of the city. Interesting museums of equipment, clothing and writing. A must-visit. The ticket price is 40,000 soums, there are no additional charges inside.
The museum is interesting, it is quite free inside. The spirit of antiquity is felt. Thanks to the restorers, you can feel how the inhabitants of Bukhara used to live. Restoration continues, the eastern wall is being restored. You can take many beautiful photos of the city.
The main attraction of Bukhara. It would be strange not to visit here. The entrance for foreigners is 40 thousand, which is 307 rubles today. There are several small museums on the territory, the entrance to which is already free. There is already nature, history and coins of Bukhara. Considering that the city is more than 2.5 thousand years old, it is necessary to visit the most authentic place. There is a souvenir sale, toilets. And, by the way, very interesting installations that give an idea of what this or that ruin used to look like. By the way, in the evening, in the rays of the setting sun, there is a beautiful view of Bukhara today.
The Ark Citadel impresses with its grandeur and history. Walking under its arches, I felt the spirit of the past, which harmoniously combines with modern design. Spacious halls and high ceilings create a feeling of freedom. This place is really special, and I'm glad I visited it.
The territory itself is not large, but the tour is very interesting. The architecture is impressive. There is a view of the city from the observation deck.
The entrance ticket is 40,000 soums per person as everywhere else and the tour is the same. (June 2024).
I liked it, especially the combination of restored, external monumentality, and preserved historical sites, inside, all together quite harmoniously conveys the spirit of the era. Thanks to those who created it, already in our time!
A very interesting place in the center of historical Bukhara. There is a beautiful legend about the origin of the fortress. According to her, the Ark was built by Siyavush, the son of the ruler, who was exiled thanks to the efforts of his stepmother. The epic hero reached a prosperous city, meeting there a beautiful girl who captured his heart. She turned out to be the daughter of the ruler of Afrosiab, and he did not want to marry his daughter to Siyavush at all. The ruler set him a difficult task – to build a palace on one bull's hide. The young man outwitted the Afrosiab by cutting the skin into thin strips and connecting them together. Inside this perimeter, Siyavush built the promised palace. According to legend, this is how the Ark originated. The fortress is located on an embankment hill, on the plan it has the shape of an irregular rectangle, elongated from west to east. The area of the complex is about 4 hectares, the height of the massive walls ranges from 16 to 20 meters, and their length is about 800 meters. The walls have crenellated loopholes, and archers were stationed there during various attacks. A very interesting place with a local museum, I recommend you to visit!
The fortress is magnificent. The fortress walls offer stunning views of the entire city. I liked the tour - they told us about the last Emir of Bukhara and the structure of the Bukhara emirate in an interesting way.
Ancient Bukhara is impressive.
Inexpensive entrance. If you are a resident of Uzbekistan, be sure to bring your documents with you. The price of the entrance base will be several times cheaper.
One of the advantages: a gorgeous view of the city. Beautiful places to take photos. Interesting historical data. Everything is indicated in three languages
Among the disadvantages: a small museum exhibition.
I was impressed by the scale of the citadel and its history. There are many small museums inside - the history of the Bukhara oasis, the throne room, the horse yard, etc. The visit to the complex took about 2 hours, very interesting!
It is large in area, it is interesting to go around and see, restoration is underway somewhere, there is also a part with excavations, a view from a height of the city. There are a lot of impressions from the visit, we will be happy to come again
The disappointment of tourists due to the whitewashed walls inside is understandable. Many people appreciate the historical authenticity and the atmosphere that brick walls create. Changes can be perceived as a loss of historical heritage.
However, the opening of the excavation is a really nice update! A walk through them and the opportunity to see the city from different angles allow you to better understand its history and architecture. This can be a great addition to the tour and give you a unique experience.
A very grandiose building of its time, entrance is paid, for residents 10k, for foreigners 40k, there are guides there, to pay separately. The tour turned out to be very interesting, a lot of exhibits and photos, we walked through each, at the end of the tour we were offered to walk through the destroyed part, they have now opened, improved, and from there a magnificent view of the old part of the city opens, I recommend visiting.
A popular place with a huge number of exhibition spaces, remains of buildings after excavations and views of the city from a height.I recommend it!You can take a picture on the throne)
An interesting place. There are a lot of interesting things in one place. There are many souvenir shops and beautiful locations for photography. The territory is large, and the timbers need to be laid for at least half a day.
The winter residence of the Emir, a whole city inside, a huge territory, a museum, a throne room, there are ruins of a part of the fortress, where archaeologists are still excavating, a very beautiful and original architectural monument
The most memorable location from the trip to Bukhara. There are many different museums inside, if you are interested in history, you can walk for a very long time. We are very happy that we got here
The whole of Bukhara is a delightful city, which I liked the most in Uzbekistan. Of course, I perceive all these amazing monuments in a completely different way with a guide, be sure to listen to the story, a solid Arabic fairy tale
The place is worth going to see and enjoy the beauty. from below there is a shop for cocktails, ice cream and there is also a building with an elevator where you can climb and look at the whole of Bukhara (I advise you in the evening)
The residence of the Emir of Bukhara for several centuries until 1920. It is very interesting to walk around the fortress, there is a great view of the old town from above.
A powerful fortress. Partially restored. There is a view of the city from the walls. First of all, the Poi-Kalyan complex. But once is enough to visit. There are camels near the walls, children's car rental, attractions
A living fairy tale. Wonderful organization of a camping trip. The guide will tell you the most basic aspects of the history and culture of the peoples of Bukhara. It takes a whole day to get full enjoyment.
A large architectural complex, inside there are many museums and guides telling the story of the creation and development of the citadel as an integral part of Bukhara.
The strata fortress citadel is very interesting to see, of course, not like other historical places, but still. Near the Arch there is a service to ride a camel, horse or pony.
An interesting place, an excavation museum, the history of the city. Whether it's worth all 60,000 soums is up to you. I don't know. For me, this museum was one of the iconic points of Bukhara. Informative.
Minus for the paid toilet. A unique view opens from the walls of the fortress.
Really large-scale. A grandiose structure, legend has it that Siyavush is the founder of the citadel. Archaeological excavations show that there was a fortification here in the middle of the first millennium. If you want to learn more, there is a guide service
Bukhara. Very impressive. It is better to take a guide who will tell you everything. On one side there were ruins that were formed from the shooting. This allows you to assess the scale of the restoration.
Of course, the place is impressive. but!!! People make the place, and the impression that the local guide Zhenya made, sooooo enhanced the grandeur of this structure! We've been to many places and in many countries, but as he said, it's something with something! A person lives by this place and in general by history, local customs, the history of religion... 45 minutes of a standard tour turned into more than an hour of live conversation! Thank you so much, Zhenya, for the amazing story about this place specifically, and about Uzbekistan, religion! THANKS
The history of the ancient citadel of the Ark began in ancient times, obviously, along with the history of Bukhara, more than 2000 years ago. The buildings that have come down to us were built in the XVIII-XIX centuries: the main entrance with gates, the Jome palace mosque, the Kushbegi courtyard, the throne room, the greeting hall and the stable yard. By purchasing a ticket to the citadel (40,000 UZS), you get not only the opportunity to look at the residence of the rulers of Bukhara, walk around the ancient citadel and its walls, but also visit the expositions of the Bukhara State Museum-Reserve located in the citadel - local lore, numismatic, epigraphic, writing, history and ethnography...
An incredible place! The beauty is extraordinary. The scale is amazing. It was built before our era. From the height there is a magnificent view of the city. Entrance is paid, inexpensive. A must-visit when traveling to Bukhara!
It's worth going, but I wouldn't say that this is the most interesting place in Bukhara. Entrance is paid, but the cost is small. I advise you to take a guide. It will be more interesting this way. Most of the territory was destroyed after the bombing by the Red Army during the siege of the city. However, part of the fortress has been preserved. There is something to see.
The building is colossal. The entrance ticket includes all the museums inside. The exposure is quite small, but so as not to overwork normally. Souvenirs. Toilet. There are ruins of buildings in the center, most of them are unidentified, it is unclear. Unfortunately, the mosque is not working, it would be beautiful.
It's an interesting place, but you still have to understand that this is a complete makeover. In places, you can observe the remains of the former wall, which say little about the former greatness of this fortress. And in the citadel itself, only earthen hills remained of the buildings. Still, the building material at that time was simply nothing !! In a short time, the fortress simply crumbled....
