There are few seats at the station for 1 floor. In cafes, prices are expensive - a paper cup of tea is 990 tenge. The toilet is free of charge. It is convenient to go to any way to board the train. 1) It is located twenty kilometers from the airport, the light is not close;
2) this leads to difficulties with logistics - due to traffic jams, you will even get to the airport by taxi for at least an hour, or even an hour and a half;
3) frequent delays of trains. A couple of days ago, the train to Pavlodar from Turkestan was delayed for two and a half hours. If you have a plane, it will cause big problems.

The underpass from the old part of the station leading to tracks 2 and 3 is flooded with rotten water, as if not even sewage. The smell is just terrible. Rubber mats politely thrown on the ground do not help in any way. Rest assured, shoes polished from home will be soaked in this very liquid.

The fact that trains in Kazakhstan are regularly or rather constantly late is a separate story, I wish I knew it in advance. The fast train Alma-Ata -Petropavlovsk was an hour late for Astana, we arrived in Petropavlovsk 1 hour and 40 minutes late((( Toilets at the station are paid, old shabby, only they give a piece of paper, apparently they charge 80 tenge for it. The chairs in the waiting room are also tired and arranged in such a way that you can't see the scoreboard in any way, you can only see the schedule changes by getting up and walking to the escalator.
