We have long wanted to visit this restaurant - the building is incredibly beautiful and luxurious, the interiors inside are in the Art Nouveau style.
We ordered mussels and Prince salad with seafood, fricassee also, it seemed delicious, but nothing supernatural.
In the evening, it became so bad that for a day hugging the toilet, never set foot in this restaurant again!
It is a pity that new owners who do not monitor the kitchen and employees leave on a hundred-year-old reputation

The kitchen was not impressed at all, some kind of ordinary food. I ordered a salad, grilled tongue and grilled vegetables too. The tongue wasn't bad, but it was just boiled, it didn't come into contact with the grill. The vegetables were cold for some reason, as if they had been cooked long before the order. The salad is ordinary. The deposit is 2000 rubles per person, but considering the price tag, it is not difficult to order for this amount. I did not like the position "10% service", while they additionally write in the receipt that you can leave a tip.

I read a lot of bad reviews and had doubts whether it was worth eating there at all. Local people said it was worth it and we didn't regret it.
I think the bad reviews are no longer about food, but about the financial part.
Yes, there is a deposit of 1,500 per person, but this is a local landmark, what kind of food will people eat when everyone goes around just to see. I don't think so.
The prices are not cheap, it's true, but we knew where we were going. The food and drinks are very tasty.
I read reviews about the arrogant stares of the staff, I don't know, I didn't notice. We were in the afternoon and I was in shorts and a top, there were no arrogant looks, in general, everyone sees what they want to see.
Tips are included in the bill as everywhere else and amount to 10%, but we have been resting for several days and are used to it.
The place itself is not bad. In general, if finances allow, eat, the food is good.

It's just a great place!
The food is beyond praise. We took pork loin, meat steak (meat dishes are simply divine, very tasty dishes). We ordered a salad (it was very tasty, but a lot of oil spoiled it). Also, we took an exclusive wine for this restaurant (the wine is very tasty). The food is just great, I really liked it!
The service is excellent. The waiters are friendly, know the menu and can recommend interesting combinations of food, wine and tea!
The staff is extremely pleasant!
The atmosphere and interior are simply magical (it was January 3rd). Live classical music, garlands, antique interior do their job. The appearance of Gagripsh and the interior are simply excellent!
In general, this is a great place that I advise all lovers of classical music and clothes to visit!

Well, this is the place where I wanted to go, we arrived at 14 o'clock, there were a lot of free tables, we were well received, they let us in with a stroller (the child was asleep). The check per person is 1500 rubles, 50% for children under 7 years old. I must say right away, the dishes are expensive, so 1500 is not clear why)) apparently to work out, and not to come in for coffee)) we were 2 vz and 5 children, one of the children was 14 years old, discounts and no congratulations were given to the child, although I asked if there was something like that. The waiter who served us does not know how to keep his distance, is a liar and a boor. The food turned out to be 3, it tastes better in any beach cafe, although the portions are huge. The place is old, beautiful, we have always wanted to visit it, but it is so purely for history to tell about it. We waited an hour for a table to be vacated, there were a lot of people, the hall was full. The receptionist and the waiter are very friendly. We ordered local cuisine, meat in Abkhazian, hominy with 3 types of cheese, royal khachapuri, cold cuts, a bottle of red wine. Everything except khachapuri was tasteless. The wine tastes cheap, and the price is probably 3 times cheaper then in the store. The service is fast, without complaints. The music was lively and very pleasant. In general, the prices are too high, the kitchen should be worked on. A place for once in my opinion.

The menu upset us: the dishes are very ordinary, mostly European cuisine, the presentation is not interesting, the cost is high. Wine with a huge margin and tasteless. We were two years ago at 22, wrote a review, disappeared somewhere. The building itself is just a beauty, from the Valhalla game!! But already at 22 I gave a rating of 3, since the food is so-so, I waited for meat for 2 hours, it is not possible to eat. But my daughter and wife liked the sweets and lemonade. And at 24, we decided to go in for a drink of lemonade and eat sweets with tea. But no!!! With brooms glued instead of eyelashes, she said that they were allowed only with a limit of 2000 rubles. To the answer that we will not eat lemonade and sweets with tea for so much, the spinner standing next to us. Probably protects this one with brooms from the disgruntled arrogance of the aborigines who seized the historical place. He said that with our prices and 10 percent on tips, it's easy, even on lemonade with tea!
And for the justified desire to see a beautiful building, the aborigines take a fine of 6000 rubles. Moreover, in a very persistent form, in the Aboriginal language where our native Russian is heard.

I want to share my impressions of visiting the Gagripsh restaurant.. We were a little afraid after reading the not very flattering reviews on the forum ..
But, in the end, a small banquet-my wife's anniversary was just wonderful! Thanks in large part to the waitress Regina! Special thanks to her!
She sent us for a walk to take pictures for 10 minutes, upon arrival all the snacks and salads were on the table, a little later they served hot, almost simultaneously for all the guests, 7 people.. It doesn't work out in every restaurant. All the dishes are beautifully decorated and very tasty. In addition to everything, the pleasant jazz-blues music created an atmosphere.. The female vocalist was also pleased with her professionalism.
As a result, the evening was a great success. We recommend it to ourselves..

An interesting historical place with beautiful views and a delicious menu.
We celebrated a birthday there in the summer, in principle, we liked everything except the deafeningly loud amplifiers on stage.
The music was playing so loudly that it was difficult for the waiters to take an order, and it was difficult to hear each other at the same table.)) In principle, they were in no hurry to take an order, even when we personally approached the administrator so that our table would already be noticed!
But despite this, the atmosphere in the restaurant was quite pleasant. Beautiful interior, with crystal chandeliers, delicious menu. The dishes were cooked quickly enough, everything that was ordered was delicious, which greatly pleased and did not allow you to be disappointed due to the deafening decibels and unhurried order acceptance).

If you want to have a good time, have a delicious meal, try the local cuisine - you are not here. The restaurant was closed for some time for reconstruction. No major changes are visible. The waiters "sleep in a yoke", they are in no hurry to approach, but in the receipt plus 10 percent is mandatory. They asked if it was possible not to pay? The answer is included there. The food is very ordinary, We had lunch many times in less pretentious places, it was even tastier. There is no payment by cards, only by transfer to a card or cash. After we sat down at the table, we were warned that the minimum check per person is 1500. We didn't plan on spending less, but it was frustrating considering everything else. There are signs everywhere-you can't go there, there too, the restaurant is not an excursion for you. I'm sorry, you're positioning yourself as a historical place. Of course, everyone is interested to see at least the photos in the hall. The toilet was working in only 1 of the three cubicles. And if there's a full house? I do not recommend it categorically.

Friends, I rarely leave negative reviews, but here I can't pass by this "restaurant". I strongly recommend not to spoil your vacation and visit this place for a feast! Extremely mediocre cuisine at a huge cost! The service is extremely slow, the guys clearly do not meet the visitor halfway in the literal and figurative sense (they compare the time of choosing a dish from the menu with choosing an apartment to buy). The taste of the dishes and especially the freshness of the ingredients leaves much to be desired. In the photo, you can check out the quality of the wine label for 2.5k - in fact, it turned out to be not wine, but juice diluted with alcohol. Places like this spoil such a wonderful republic. It's a pity, I hope the owners will improve. Of the advantages, I will note the location of the institution and its appearance, the place sets up for a good end to the evening, unfortunately, the advantages end there.

Gagripsh restaurant is an atmospheric place, undoubtedly you want to come here. My advice is not to be fascinated by his cuisine in advance, so as not to be disappointed later. The friendlier the communication with the attentive smiling waiter Elena turned out to be, the tastier the dishes turned out to be, the more pleasant the musical accompaniment.
Indeed, there is an advertisement in front of the entrance to the hall banning excursions in the restaurant and a fine for photos. As a restaurant guest with two hands for this. I would not like to see crowds of tourists with cameras rushing past the table.

Yes, the prices are not low and 10% of the service fee is included in the bill by default. But I think this can be justified by the high costs of maintaining the old building in proper condition.

we were not allowed to enter the restaurant at 19:30, although we arrived at 19:10, for some reason we cannot choose a table when booking, they just leave a random table for those who booked when they arrived by taxi and drove to the upper landing from there we were kicked out, allegedly we spoil the building there.
