Oh, this institution is the most controversial in all of Abkhazia. It is well-known. Being a local landmark, crowds of people come here, allowing the locals to profit from it. if we discard the historical significance of the institution, then in fact it is the most mediocre restaurant. The deposit at the entrance was charged 2000 rubles per person. When asked why not one and a half, as I read in the reviews below, the girl at the reception explained that 1,500 rubles per person is a daily deposit, and in the evening 2,000 rubles. In general, it feels like the price is taken out of your head.
On food: again, contradictory impressions. Salads are really very tasty and correspond to the declared level. Almost all dishes from the "Abkhazian cuisine" section are missing, which is very strange, considering that the place is historical and, in fact, food should be offered in accordance with the concept. But there is Tom Yam soup. Unfortunately, it's just disgusting. I ate a lot of different Tom yams in various establishments of different price segments, but this was the most disgusting Tom Yam. Rather, it's just fish soup.
Service: should Abkhazia even talk about it? The waiter served us as if we were servants. He spoke through his teeth, but he didn't want to help at all. but most of all, I was surprised that when ordering the main dishes, coffee and dessert, the first thing the waiter brought out was coffee. To my remark that I would like to drink coffee with dessert and preferably not cold coffee, the waiter reimbursed me that I actually did not warn him about this in advance. Surprisingly, even in establishments of a class below this, the waiters themselves are interested in when to serve drinks. It is NOT the client who should take care of this. At the same time, as everywhere in Abkhazia, the institution charges a service fee of 10% of the receipt. It's funny, because there is no smell of service here. I think as long as there is a service fee in the country, we will not wait for service, because waiters do not need to try and you can be rude, rude and treat customers randomly, because tips will fall into their pocket. And the passability of the restaurant is such that it is not necessary to try to ensure that the guest returns to them at all.
As a result, the restaurant, as an attraction, can be visited and viewed from the outside. But I would not recommend eating there. There are establishments with much better taste and service. Disappointed

We stopped by to get acquainted with the history, and try the cooked cuisine, a deposit for 1500 laughter, since the dishes are expensive and not the point of the price, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired, there is no sturgeon in the ear, but the price is please full, vodka is hotter than the sea, the salad according to the chef's recipe is just a fairy tale, I did not even want to finish eating. The place is beautiful, I really liked it... but the food... nothing special, the price tag is a little too high for Abkhazia... we sat without alcohol for 8 t.p. (2 adults and two small children 2 and 8 years old), tips are included in the price. It's about the Gagripsh restaurant.

Сегодня посетила ресторан "Гагрипш". Итак, почему же только 2 звезды?
Плюсы:
1) Очень хорошо сохранилась атмосфера 19-20 века, приятная музыка, чистый зал.
2) Десерт был вкусный, а основные блюда не плохими (на вкус).
Минусы:
1) Что с обслуживанием? Почему официант не знает что у них есть, а чего нет?! Кстати, на этот вопрос он ответил - "Я только проснулся...". В итоге нам принесли салат и... десерт. Почему сначала принесли чизкейк, а не основные блюда (к слову, он принёс лишний кусочек)?!
2) Что с подачей? Почему вместо аккуратного салата мы видим прямоугольник из оливье, на нём тигров креветку, немного икры и листик с боку (абсолютно непонятно, что он там забыл).
3) Свежесть продуктов (в моём случае это были мидии). Нам принесли тарелку с пятью мидиями (вместо заявленных 7-8 штук!!!). Мидии съели, вроде неплохо. Но потом у моей мамы появились первые симптомы отравления (подскачило давление, головокружение, боль в животе, тошнота), стало понятно что ЛИБО мидии были не первой свежести, ЛИБО сочетание продуктов в блюде весьма сомнительное... Прошло больше 7 часов, а живот до сих пор болит, стошнило. Благо я ела другое блюдо.
И я бы не возмущалась так сильно, если бы минимальный чек с человека не начинался от 1000 рублей (это не число из ветра, а правило в "визитной карточке" Абхазии).
В общем, самое приятное из всего что там было - это антураж и само здание.

I usually don't write reviews, but I couldn't pass by here, because the reviews in this restaurant are just bought!! We were here for the first time and will never return and we do not recommend it to anyone!!! We were met by an arrogant girl who said from the doorway that we should spend at least 3,000 for two and was very unhappy that we moved to another table (the air conditioner was blowing strongly), shouted across the hall that we had moved, as in a collective farm. There are signs everywhere that you can't go anywhere, everything is forbidden. Of the 3 cubicles in the toilet, only one works and that is very narrow and uncomfortable. The elderly waitress is very unfriendly, frankly impolite. We waited a very long time for the order to be accepted, and even longer for the food to be delivered. All the dishes are not delicious, they did not understand at all who is praising the food here. Among other things, tips are already included in your bill automatically, so the waiters are relaxed, good service does not even smell. A complete disappointment, in general! Such an iconic place, a building selling itself and such mediocrity inside

Место историческое и очень любопытное с точки зрения архитектуры, жаль что часы не ходят, зато со второго этажа с веранды замечательный вид на море. Цены выше среднего, есть депозит 1500 на человека, если планируете оставить меньше, вас не пустят! Еда не плохая, но и особенной её тоже не назовешь, например салат цезарь за 600 рублей, ничем не отличался от такого же за 400 в обычном кафе. В общем для одного раза место неплохое, сделать красивые фото и полюбоваться редкой архитектурой, но не более того.

The food is OK, but nothing fancy.
But the service leaves much to be desired.
The staff is not friendly.
It was immediately indicated that the entrance is only for a deposit of 1,500 rubles per visitor. There were 6 of us, we took a chance, went in)
Dirty dishes were removed from the table only after we asked the waiters about it, dirty plates were taken away, but clean ones were not brought in return, only at our request.
The toilets are broken, one of the three booths was working and there is no paper on it, a queue is gathering. The interior is beautiful, but going up to the balcony you can see that it is covered in dust, there is no maintenance for the hall..
In general, the owners of the restaurant definitely need to pay attention to the service, it leaves much to be desired.

A very beautiful building, we arrived in October, we wanted to go in - a wedding, no one is allowed except the guests. Okay, I see. We call the restaurant, we want to book a table, they say the restaurant is closed until January for the wedding!
And you can't even just go to see the interior of the restaurant!! Even in the morning, when obviously the weddings haven't started yet!

There was no restaurant level, just an average cafe, and the prices of an elite restaurant. In general, the dishes were disappointing. Атмосфера и архитектура здания, это просто класс, вид изо всех окон потрясающий.
Кухня норм, но за такой ценник это должно было быть отвал всего.
Обслуживание - жуть! Причем какая-то странная общая надменная атмосфера. Ты заходишь и тебя как будто оценивают по платежеспособности. Сразу - депозит 1500 на человека, это неприятно. Якобы держат бронь столов у окошка. Несколько раз мне хотелось уйти. Особенно после того как за соседним столиком ребятам официант сказала, что они выбрали дешевое вино!!! Серьезно? Если такой вы крутой ресторан, то как у вас может подаваться плохое вино. Вообщем мне дико это всё, как будто в девяностых побывала. Традиционным абхазским гостеприимством тут и не пахнет.
Но я всеравно была рада тут пообедать, очень понравилось внутри и балкон. Историческая ценность перевесила.
Брали - два супа, каре ягненка, мясо по-абхазски, картофель фри, две порции коньяка, овощи гриль. Счет вышел чуть больше 6тр

They ordered black tea - they brought a teapot in which there was so much tea that half a liter was barely colored, like green tea. They ordered a pork neck, brought meat on the bones, allegedly mixed it up, as the waitress said. We ordered Chateaubriand steaks - rubber meat and over-dried grilled vegetables. Either the meat was old, or they don't know how to cook. In general, they ask for a 2000 deposit per person, but they cannot feed adequately. The situation was saved only by khachapuri - delicious, with lots of cheese. I really wanted to get into this restaurant for a long time, I ticked it. But I'm definitely not going to eat there anymore. The food in such a famous restaurant is at the level of simple cafes on the coast, and this is no exaggeration.

The restaurant is iconic and is an important landmark, so we went there. It takes an hour to walk from the hotel, no one notified us by phone how many people there should be, whether there are deposits or not. As a result, when we were alone at the place, they just wouldn't let us in.
I have never heard a cheaper excuse not to let in in my life: "We only plant from 3 people, with a deposit of 2000 rubles per person." And if I can still put up with a deposit, then boarding from 3 people is nonsense that is difficult to digest.
The hostess also added at the end, "come back in an hour." What should change in an hour? Are we supposed to have a baby and then they'll let us in? Or how does the system work?
They refused to plant it even on the condition that we pay the deposit here and now. So much for a historical landmark.
At the same time, the restaurant itself had tables for two, three, and as many as you want. Couples were sitting. There is no appointment, everything is on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you want a boorish attitude, vague excuses why you can't be put down to dinner (despite the fact that if there are empty seats, they have no right to refuse by law), even considering that you are ready to pay the deposit, then you are here.
Considering the fact. that there is no armor there, we observed a lot of empty seats, which means they could have physically planted us. But for some reason they didn't want to...
The situation will be corrected if the restaurant administration gives us a 50% discount on the entire menu for the next visit, and also sincerely apologizes for the boorish attitude on the part of its employees who suffer from "watchman syndrome".

A legendary place in Abkhazia, it was for this that I added another star to the beautiful presentation of almost all the dishes that were brought to our company for this one more star. That's where the advantages ended.
From what I ordered (gagripsh salad and meat in Abkhazian), nothing corresponded to the price that was indicated for the dish - this is the main disadvantage.
For a minimum deposit of 1,500 per adult, you should not worry, the prices of dishes will easily help you overcome it, but if suddenly for some reason you do not make it, you should not worry too much, you will be added a 10% bill for service for your convenience right in the receipt. Thus, given that the cost of the dishes is overestimated relative to the quality, you leave quite generous tips.

Если ты побывал в Абхазии, наверно, хочется, сходить в Гагрипш 😁 Внутри красиво, вид на море из ресторана для фото тоже достойный, есть развлекательная программа, очень много посадочных мест, наверно, поэтому за всеми официанты не всегда успевают. Кухне пятерочку не поставил бы 😁 Место однозначно очень знаковое, но без денег сюда лучше не заходить 👍😁 Оно красиво смотрится и снаружи 😁

There is not a single plus except for the appearance. There is no table setting. There is no service. The pate was brought in a jar (perhaps this is a local serving option). Wine can only be ordered by bottle. I was the only one who needed a bottle of wine. And really, why did I spend 4,400 rubles in an institution that looks like a painted barn. The pate, however, was not bad.

We visited this restaurant according to numerous, good reviews. We were very upset about visiting this institution. We asked the waiter if there were tomatoes in the dish, to which they replied no. As a result, they brought a dish containing tomatoes (I am allergic to this product), and finely chopped.
They offered to replace it with another one, without apologizing. It didn't end there, the waitress serving the next table just pushed me, while looking haughtily, of course not apologizing.
The only person who tried to fix the situation is the administrator.
Already leaving the restaurant, we noticed a very interesting picture, cucumbers are lying right on the exit, there are glass bottles, apparently left by visitors.
As upset as possible by the visit.
